2006 Towing Mirrors On 2001 Hd2500

I am curious if anybody that has upgraded the regular mirrors from 2001'ish to the 2006+ towing mirrors has had any issues with wind noise or vibrations ? I plan on swapping mine out for the 2006+ towing mirrors and want to know in advance of any issues that may have been experienced.

Bottom line, for those that did the swap, are you happy with the newer mirrors ?

As per my post, I'm wondering how the autoplay "Superchips" advertisement got plugged above my signature. Any ideas ?

Thanks !! I'll be making the change in a few months.

I plan on buying my set tomorrow. currently i have the power extending ones that came on 03+, but i wish to switch to the "ford" style mirrors (i call them that because there taller that they are wide) there plug n play with led signals and heated for my 03 so it will be an easy upgrade!!

So im not sure what style your looking for but i'll have the power extending ones for sale shortly and there in near perfect condition!!

Thanks for the offer; but, I'm also interested in the same ones you are interested in - that you reference as "ford" style. I'll probably sell my existing ones too - just regular heated, power mirrors without the blink/blink.

I only have 21,000 miles on the truck so they are in pretty good shape.

I am considering switching the the "ford" style mirrors also. I would just like to see a pic of an 01 or 02 HD with them on it.

I should be able to take pictures on Friday! I have an 01 3500 dually.

Well i just ordered my new "ford" mirrors, cheapest i found was gmpartsdirect.com 418 shipped!! which is $60 cheaper than if i ordered it from the dealership WITH my GM discount. I was a little leary about that site at first because they were so much cheper but there authorized by GM to sell gunuine GM parts. i'll be watchin my front door!!

Anyone looking for the 03-06 POWER extending camper mirrors with led signals and heated let me know, im asking $450 shipped, truck has 29000 miles

Hey Wirenut (Roger) - did you happen to itemize a how-to when you changed the mirrors ? From doing a quick look, it looks like its just a matter of pulling the interior panel (small triangle shape) off and wrench the existing mirror off. The wiring may be part plug-n-play with some mods to make the blink-blink work.???

I'll just have to find time (which is limited with a 20-month old son) and money to move forward now.

I had every intention on doing so but my digital camera took really crappy pictures. The swap out took me about 4 hours to do everything. The bolt up was simple. My 01 had power & heat, I ran wire from under the steering wheel to get the blinkers working. I also bought some connectors from radio shack to make the connections from the truck side to the mirrors. I think I still have the color codes for both sides, I'll have to look for it. I think the hardest part was getting the wires thru the rubber on the doors, I made the mistake removing it on one door. The other side I just snaked the wires through.

I'll see if I can find the crappy pictures and the color code.
