8.1 Factory Exhaust Size

2001 Silverado 2500HD Crew cab short bed 8.1L. I am looking to replace my stock muffler with a bit louder and aggressive muffler with dual pipes. I do a lot of towing so I don't want something that will get too annoying after long trips. What size are the factory pipes? Any advice on a muffler? I have liked the flowmaster mufflers. My son had 50 series on his 5.3L and I have 80 series on my camaro.

I just read a thread about this yesterday. In short, the 8.1L's stock exhaust is pretty efficent. Someone even mentioned that banks doesn't make a system for it because they couldn't make any improvments. They do apparently make one for RVs with the 8.1L. As far as the mufflers go, do a search for 8.1L, a lot of good threads come up.
