After reading 200 posts in 15 different threads, it's still not clear which parts I need for a NAV upgrade on my NBS 2007 Silverado Ext cab 1500 w/LT1 package. In other words, no BOSE, no LUX. It just has the CD radio that came with the LT1 pack. Any help appreciated.

Thanks

If you install a Pioneer AVIC Z1 or Z2, you will need the GM interface. I had one installed on my 2003 Silverado and it works great. It would be best to contact a knowledgeable radio installer to make sure your choice of radios will work. Tell them that you need a 2-din nav radio. Good luck.

Bruffint, thanks for the reply. I was actually thinking about the factory NAV unit for the NBS. Any expereience on that one? No Bose No Lux.

To each his own but I think you'd be really unhappy by the time you finished. To go that way you'll need to buy the Bose amp and all Bose speakers and replace everything. The sound quality and NAV features are going to leave you wishing you went another way. If you already had the Bose I'd say its worth the effort (much less effort in that case) but you can install a Pioneer DVD style NAV for under $1100 complete.
