5.3l Noise Like A Belt Slipping - No Belts Installed

With all belts removed from my 2004 5.3L I have a noise like a slipping fan belt coming from the engine. Using a stethoscope, it seems the loudest at the center of the oil pan, but can be clearly heard around the power steering pump. Started to change it but I could not find any slop in the bearing, so I removed the AC belt and the main belt and cranked it for a second. Noise was still there. Changes with engine rpm.

Oil pressure is normal (42psi at cold idle). 149,000 miles, 3200 hours, on the highway. Runs Mobil 1 synthetic with WIX filters.

I have a set of GM shop manuals ordered, but I need to get this thing back on the road ASAP. It is my daily driver for my work. Looked at the flex plate through the inspection hole and it was not loose nor did it show any odd marks.

Any ideas?
