99 4.8l Exhaust

Ok like the title says, 4.8L exhaust. I want something that is unique, different, and sounds great, but no kits. I'm trying to come up with ideas as to what to do for this and have come up with, well nothing. Right now i am running stock exhaust with a glass pack in place of the muffler. Sounds ok but i want something better, any ideas?

Thanks in advanced.

I have mine coming shot gun out the back on each side of the trailer reciever, i liek it there i have 3 1/2 inch tips and it really bellows. I also have seen shotgun on the passenger side, and ones that dump in front or rear of the wheels. My preference is out the back.

I'm running the exact same setup as you.

I'm running a SI/DO Flomaster 40 series. I have the 3 1/2" angle cut tips coming out the corners. It's not deafening, but it's pretty loud. It's the perfect sound for me

That's not the best video for the exhaust, but it's all I have.

Ha ha! I always wondered how much smoke Seafoam would put out!

I have a sincle Flowmaster 50 Big Block on mine with 3.5"x18's shotgun out the back. It's got some rumble, but it's pretty mild. A lot of guys run a 40 series dumped in front of the rear end, but there's a ton of cab drone with that setup. I think I'm going to replace my 50 with a 40 straight out the back to keep the drone to a minimum.

Got mine out the back as well with 3 1/2 Stainless tips. I used the Flowmaster 40 series as well (single in/double out). I really like the sound it gives and have had multiple compliments on the sound as well. I really don't notice any droning inside the cab but my tires and stereo probably drown that out :omg: You probably already know this but I'll mention it anyway. Be sure to paint the inside of your tips (I used high heat flat black) because it will keep them from rusting. Good luck!

2000dv4.8, how much did you end up paying for that setup? I think i was looking at one like that, but i don't know where.

$513.67 after tax, and they installed it right in front of me in about 45 minutes.

Dang, that seems kinda high. I paid $280 for my muffler-back Magnaflow dual 3" pipes.

I really like this Magnaflow, but I wish it was louder like your FM 40. That 4.8 sounds great!

I thought it was kind of high too, but I went to about 8 different shops within 45 minutes of where I live, and nobody would do it for under $500.
