Truck Dies After Going From P To D Or R

So i have 94 fullsize blazer silverado edition. Most everything is new engine wise, rotor and igntion box is not. I just had the manifold gasket replace was told it was leaking just two weeks ago. Its much better now, but my problems before were rough idling at a light or startup, now its very minimal and intermittant whether the engine is cold or hot and only happens once in a blue moon. The other issue, whether its cold or hot, if i go from park to reverse or drive, once in a blue moon the motor will just die, but i can restart it right away. The mechanics so far have not come up with a solution yet? Anyone?
