Changed My Own W/pump

my 2000 5.3 has been losing coolant for way to long so finally bit the bullet and bought w/pump and hoses, t-stat.

it came with the metal gaskets / w rubber embossed into them. took me 3 hours from start to final clean up of the mess by my self with only hand tools. i only needed a 10mm,15mm, 1 7/16 wench? for the fan nut, large chain wrench to hold the water pump pulley,and some pliers and screw drivers. the old gaskets had failed and the rubber part had come apart allowing coolant to run out of the seal, probably could have just changed gaskets but was already there so changed whole thing. used some rtv to hold gaskets to block as i attached new pump with bolts. the best part is there hasn't been any new leaks on my garage floor

Good job man, I recently changed the pump on my friends 04 'Rado, and it took about the same lenght of time. It did give me an appreciation for having Electric fans on my 05 when it came time to take the fan off the 04.
