Hazard Light Button Stuck (top Of Steering Column)

I noticed when I bought this truck a couple years ago that I never could get the hazard light button to depress fully; therefore I never could get the lights to flash. I hadn't thought much of it until yesterday when I actually could've used my hazard lights out on the road.

 

I've tried pulling up, pushing down, pulling back, pushing forward....no matter which direction I push the button, it doesn't travel far enough to activate the lights. I presume it should push straight down into the steering column to turn the lights ON, and then back up to turn the lights OFF.

 

It feels like it's hitting something before it gets far enough down to turn on the lights. Any ideas?

The hazard switch is part of the multi-function switch (turn signal cruise wiper etc.) your going to need to replace the whole thing.
