2003 1500lt Foldiing Mirrors Have Stopped

The folding mrrors on the Suburban have stopped working.

 

Whe I try I can see the mirror on the drivers side move fractionally - but its not centering as you would expect (in normal operation the mirrors center and then fold).

 

The mirror adjustment works when the mirror selector is pushed down on the left or right but when the selector switch is centered the light does not appear to turn orange (not sure theres any light to be honest).

 

However the window switches work etc.

 

What other systems should i check to try to narrow the fault down.

 

I have wondered if I should power down the driver door module - but am worried about a need to reprogram?

 

Any suggestions gratefully received,

The light is orange in the 4way mirror switch.

I have a similar issue with my GMC 2003 1500 SLT. My driver side mirror will fold in but will not fold out. Passenger side works fine. I've noticed that if I give it some assistance and hit the button at the same time it will catch and eventually open on its own. Our issues may be similar but sound different. I would try "helping" while you fold it in and see if it will work then.
