Pcm Hesitation?

I've noticed that my '08 Silverado will hesitate at certain combinations of speed, gear in use, and engine RPM. I'm starting to think those PCM restrictions are downright dangerous when you're trying to get out of the way of something. It's a disconcerting feeling too in that you've jammed the gas pedal down 3/4 of the way and you're expecting the downshift to occur but..tick..tock...tick...tock....finally the downshift occurs and you're on your way. It actually takes long enough for me to yell at the truck "c'mon" and make a hip motion as if I'm trying to move a rowboat with my own momentum. Anyone else noticed this?

Everyone in a newer GM truck has it. It is Torque Management. Well it actually isn't TM, because TM refers to a specific management program, but normally it is used to encompass all of the nannies in the vehicle's computers.

More knowledgeable people will chime in. In the mean time, try searching for Torque Management and TM for more information.

I know exactly what you're talking about. My truck doesn't do it anymore thanks to my pcm tune. Its worth it now more than ever, especially on these trucks.
