What solder do I need to re-attach my rear window defrost terminal? I bumped the terminal and it fell off. the foil is still good on the glass. regular solder keeps falling off.

thanks, Matt

Are you using solder with the flux(rosin) in it? Are you sinking the iron to the terminal before applying the solder? You apply the solder to the terminal, not the iron. Sounds like you are not applying anough heat to the terminal before applying the solder.

You need a conductive epoxy. An autoglass shop should be able to help you with this....Some auto parts stores may carry this as well....If you decide to do this yourself Mix the product 50/50 and apply to the tab.(clean old solder off tab 1st using fine sandpaper.Apply the tab to the glass and tape into place below the origional spot.Make sure you are still able to apply the tab to the metal portion on the glass.(suggestion) look at the other side to make sure you are appling the tab in the right direction cuz if you don"t you won't be able to plug it in.Do not reconect the wire for 24 hrs. In the winter we reinstall about 3-4 a month... Hope this helps. :D

Have you thought of using an electrically conductive adhesive?
