Mayfield was dropped from Penske.

No word who will race for them this week.

 

Skinner was picked up with Morgan Mclure (Kodak)for next year.  Lepage is gone - Hamilton Jr racing for them for the rest of the year

 

Along with R Gordon, Mayfield may get the RCR job

I think that Kenny would be a lot better choice that Mike. But to be honest, I wouldn't take either of them.

What did Mayfield do that was so bad? He is certainly not the first Penske Driver to have an "off" year...

I think  it boiled down to his attitude.  He's said some things about the cars not being very good and somewhat talking back about the crew/team.  I think he said a few things on national TV.

He almost quit at the bewginning of the season.  He said he thought he was wasting the most productive years of his career with this team.  Then when he publicly criticized the team and the car after the last race I guess it was the last straw.  Personally I'm glad he's gone, I just hope they don't hire Spencer.
