  2. I'm loving my '21 3.0 that I've had since new. Enough that I've got a '23 3.0 on the way. Interior was significantly changed for 2022.5 and the exterior got a 'mid-cycle refresh' too. '23 introduced the LZO 3.0, which has changes from the '22 and earlier LM2. LM2 is also been used in the full sized suv's -- even after the LZO was released. I think SUV's will move form LM2 to LZO for '24 model. Of course there are some that have had issues, and there were also issues that have been cleaned up. Are you enjoying the Street triple?.

  4. 5.3L 'way over' with 8 qts suggests that it wasn't fully drained. (one of the reasons it's common to check level to determine how much of the last bottle is required.) I'd prefer to be a 1/2 qt below full (so middle of acceptable range) rather than 1/2 qt above full Techlink chart shows:
  5. The condensation thing has been talked about (complained about?) for a bunch of years. (Fig. 27) The unique shape of the exhaust pipe is by design. The kinks or shape of the pipe does not indicate the pipe is damaged.   7. Most GM's will unlock the door if the door handle us pulled twice. Not sure if the refresh does that, but it's been a GM thing for decades. If locked - first pull unlocks - 2nd pull opens
  8. For a 2023 1500 AT4? (otoh, wouldn't be the first time the build your own website was in disagreement with the Fleet Order Guide, and/or the dealers build/order program)
  9. Order guide shows that on 2023 AT4 the DQS mirrors can be added without adding other package. Note 1 applies to SLT trim. They show available on AT4 and Denali. They are not available on any other sierra trim (including AT4X and Denali Ultimate)
  10. Still uses about 2% of fuel when towing. ''Range estimator' part of algorithm for def level display convince you otherwise. Big mistake on GM's part not to have it function like a fuel gauge.
  11. Did you verify that lane change is enabled in 'settings'? The Super Cruise Lane Change feature can be customized to be Off, On Demand Lane Change, or On Demand Lane Change & Automatic Lane Change through the vehicle personalization menu. Touch the Settings icon on the infotainment home page. Select “Vehicle” to display the list of available options and select “Super Cruise Lane Change”.

  13. You do not need to do the procedure if just doing a top-up. If the coolant level is low enough that air may have entered the cooling system it should be done to remove air. It won't hurt it to do the procedure during top-up. Regen should not have a coolant smell. On a new truck, the first few regens may be burning off oil/grease/overspray from the outside of the exhaust. Some LM2's have been had issues with exhaust leaks, but that is a different smell than either coolant or grease/oil burn-off. I'd recommend doing coolant level checks/top-ups on a cold engine. (and of course parked on a consistent slope, preferably flat) Coolant expands when warmed, so then the question becomes 'how warm was it when checked"? If it's being checked at as part of an oil change service or when getting fuel -- observing the coolant tanks confirms they still have coolant, but it doesn't give an accurate indication of level. If you chasing a small/slow leak -- then doing an 'accurate' check more frequently is important.

Auto Stops may not occur and/or Auto Starts may occur because: . The climate control settings require the engine to be running to cool or heat the vehicle interior. . The vehicle battery needs to charge. . The vehicle battery has recently been disconnected. . Minimum vehicle speed has not been reached since the last Auto Stop. . The accelerator pedal is pressed. . The engine or transmission is not at the required operating temperature. . The outside temperature is not in the required operating range. . The vehicle is shifted out of D (Drive) to any gear other than P (Park). . Certain driver modes have been selected. -- See Driver Mode Control pg 242 and Four-Wheel Drive pg 233. . The vehicle is on a steep hill or grade. . The driver door has been opened or the driver seat belt has been unbuckled. . The hood has been opened. . The Auto Stop has reached the maximum allowed time.
  15. They probably didn't fill it to the top at delivery. (common issue) Does the 11.5 gallons include what is currently in the tank? You are correct about DEF usage being in the range of 2% of fuel. Because of how the internals work, the def level indicator is not accurate enough to use for def usage calculation. It should only considered as a rough indicator of def amount in the tank. (and an aftermarket device still gets it's level info from the same inaccurate level sensor) GM did publish a bulletin in when def was introduced that indicated usage a little less than 2%. I wouldn't call it a spec, but more of a guide. Since it is given as a % of fuel, that acknowledges that when working harder it will use more def Permissible NOx levels are now lower. NOx managed by engine processes as well as exhaust treatment, but presumably the intended def consumption is a little higher than it was the 2011 LML. I'm not believing that the intended level has gone from 2% to 8%. Mine certainly doesn't use that much. Are you using a metered bulk pump to fill def or are you using jugs? Mine has over 30,000 miles. All def measured by a metered pump. Last DEF fill was early December (up, it's gonna need some soon) Without going out and checking my book, at last def fill it had lifetime usage rates of 26.5 mpg fuel and 1200 mpg def. If my math is correct, that's about 2.2% The prior def using (LML and L5P) dmaxes I ran were a little under 2%.
  16. Nobody mentioned tire pressure, but it's a factor too. Also aggressive cornering during drive and aggressive turning after stops. Is it on stock wheels or at least wheels with the same backspacing?

  18. OP's avatar says it is a 2022 2500 diesel. HD's didn't refresh until 2024 model year.

  20. It's gonna depend on the 'recent' fuel economy the vehicle has been getting. I regularly see 700 miles to empty.
  21. It might be more than just oil that they have specs for, but don't actually produce in their own plants....

Dexos2 is diesel oil for the 2.8L DexosD is diesel oil for the 3.0L The 6.6 Dmax uses the same ccd/CD oils as other large diesesl DEXOS 1 (gen1, then gen 2 and now gen3) are the gasoline engine ones. Kirkland pic in the first post appears to be Dexos2 -- which is not spec'd for any engine used in the 1500 or 2500/3500. Dexos2 would be for the 2.8Lwas used in the Colorado/Canyon twins.   23. I've got my '21 3.0 in Nov '22. It's been a great truck. It was in my driveway about 6 weeks after ordering. Built in Ft Wayne -- about a 1/2 day drive from here. I've decided I want the refresh truck and updated 3.0. Order entered in late Dec '22. Didn't get 'picked up' til mid Feb, with a TPW mid March. Didn't build until Mar 30. I do have the vin. (first time I've had one miss the TPW it was given (I guess that's why it's Tentative Production Week). Built in Mexico instead of Ft.Wayne. So far, no idea when it arrives in southern Ontario. I guess I'm saying I think the 3.0 is a good choice...but order time to build date and delivery time has too many variables to estimate. Especially since it seems that supplier problems can still be a thing sometimes.
