  1. And of course both brands make multiple models....
  2. Traded for a '23 which has this feature, so thought I'd look up what the manual says about it. (I haven't towed yet...) Gross Combined Weight (GCW) Alert If equipped, the GCW Alert can display a message in the Driver Information Center (DIC), indicating that the estimated combined weight of the vehicle and trailer may exceed the vehicle’s GCWR, under certain circumstances. See “Gross Combined Weight Rating” above. The vehicle does not actually measure the loaded weight of your vehicle or trailer. It uses vehicle data to estimate these weights after you begin a trip. The alert will not activate unless: . The feature is turned on in the trailering application. See Trailering App pg 321. . The vehicle-trailer combination have been used enough together for the software to estimate the combined vehicle and trailer weight. . The estimated weight could exceed the vehicle’s maximum GCWR. and from the Trailering App section (app info starts on page 321, this is from pg 327)
  3. Sounds the voice command system has the same function as when using a phone when connected thru the truck. It will reduce fan speed when phone in use. When call is over, heating/cooling/fan resumes. Makes clearer calls, but a long call can lead to uncomfortable temperature.
  4. That's the way Lane Keep Assist is supposed to work. It's not intended to keep you centered. It is intended to notify if you are drifting out of lane and to help nudge you back. It will do nothing if the blinker is used before the edge of lane is reached. If it detects driver is not steering it will alarm. If you come to a curve it will not keep you from driving off the road. There is a multi-page explanation in the owners manual about LKA (lane keep assist) and LDW (lane departure warning). If you prefer a PDF instead of paper manual, download is available from gmc/chev websites. If you want centering and cornering you are a candidate for Super Cruise.
  5. Only thing worse than the 5.7 (350) diesel was the V6 version they put in some cars in that era.
  6. After a couple years running adaptive cruise, I've found that the camera blinded by sun or a 'flash' reflection has been the usual reason for it to be 'temporarily' unavailable. I've never ( so far?) needed to cycle ignition or disconnect battery for it to become available again. Regular cruise has always remained available in these situations.
  7. GOcustoms joined and made the post August 21, 2022. Last visited site Aug 13 2022 -- the day after the original post.
  8. Interesting how some say the refresh is much better and some say it is much worse. I've gone from '21 to '23 - both Denali. (not Denali Ultimate, which has a 12 speaker Bose vs the 7 speaker Bose in 'regular' denali I've only run a 100 miles or so in the new one, but first impressions were that it was better. Not 'night and day' different, but improved. So far just listening to my usual FM 'classic rock' station, and a little bit of SiriusXM. Perhaps it is just the eq settings? Maybe just placebo effect? Haven't bothered to investigate settings too much yet. UQA Bose Sound System, premium 7-speaker system with Richbass woofer UQS Bose Premium Series with 12-speaker system with CenterPoint, Richbass woofer and AudioPilot
  9. Standard, no-lockable, non-covered under seat storage in my crews is smaller front-to-back that what is in the picture. Perhaps about the size of the one in the link above for the double cab. If you don't need lockable it might be a better solution for pets and/or larger containers that you want to carry on the floor.
  10. Camera review mirror and the bedview camera are separate cameras. So if you want both you need the assembly with TWO cameras
  11. Decided to see if there was any info about this in the fleet order guide. It shows the 12V outlet is only installed/available on low trims. On sierra First column is the 'pro' trim. On Silverado it comes on the WT, Custom and Custom Trailboss So it would be in the Owners Manuals -- and not be on the high trim trucks mentioned in other posts. Perhaps also explains the OM section discussing fuse location changes -- and the lack of available connection on higher trims that will not have the 12v pot. Guess I'm won't be running the 12v cooler with the new truck when it arrives
  12. Interesting. My 21 has 12 v power ports. (and the 120V shared 400W outlets) 2023 owners manual shows 12v power ports. I have a '23 being shipped. I'm curious to see if it has 12v port(s).
  13. Sounds like your dealer is 'broken'.
  14. Good idea. I hear ford's never have any sort of quality issues.
  15. Are you saying 2023's have no '12V power outlet' or 'no cigar lighter'? (ya, I get that the power ports are sometimes (incorrectly) referred to as cigar/cigarette lighters) Diagrams posted were from the 2023 1500 Sierra Owners Manual... Didn't check for 12v outlets in the one I test drove.
  16. When it was parked? Indicates security system on. The assembly also contains a light for the auto function of the headlights (to switch DRL's to headlights when dark) Vehicle Alarm System The indicator light, on the instrument panel near the windshield, indicates the status of the system. Off : Alarm system is disarmed. On Solid : Vehicle is secured during the delay to arm the system. Fast Flash : Vehicle is unsecured. A door or the hood is open. Slow Flash : Alarm system is armed.
  17. 100,000 mile engine warranty being thrown out the window?
  18. Around town, especially with lots of stops and starts will always settle at higher transmission temps than when at steady speed on the highway. Airflow is required to make the cooler work. Torque converter during starts and lots of shifting at low speeds all create more heat.
  19. I'm not sure if todays 12V Power port can operate a cigarette lighter port, but it will power devices like radar detectors that have a similar style of plug. Lots of makers/suppliers of Including usb adapters that can be used to charge devices from one of these ports. Work truck should have the layout of the previous gen USB-C, USB-A, 12V power port (highlighted in this OM diagram) and then the 120V port Higher trim, the power port is in the console:
  20. According to the manual, the USB is powered by F26, not by F27/F28 -- which are for the power outlet.
  21. Something strange is going on. The stuff I posted previously was cut and paste from the 2023 owners manual - for the instrument panel (right hand) fuse block. (the other panels (left hand instrument panel & engine compartment) also use those fuse numbers....seems like a bad idea on GM's part...I'd think each fuse panel should use a different set of numbers, but they didn't call and ask for my opinion) I think the right hand panel, F27/F28 thing is an either/or fuse. The location selected (F27 or F28, instrument panel fuse block on(on passenger side) determines how the power outlet (not the usb's) will function. Right hand panel has fuses on both side. Here is a screen grab of the info from my prior post.
  22. F26 USB Ports/Special Equipment option Retained Accessory Power F27 Accessory Power Outlet/ Retained Accessory Power F28 Accessory Power Outlet/ Battery When on 'battery' the accessory power outlet should not shut off. Perhaps get a power port/usb adapter to power your goodies Be sure the draw will be low enough that it doesn't drain the battery - there have been lots of reports of items left plugged in that will drain the battery.
  23. If enabled they are supposed to stay enabled until disabled by the driver. We have more than one vehicle with the feature, and they all stay enabled. I rarely turn intellibeam off. One of the situations I do is I want high beams at speeds below where intellibeam will activate them (25 mph) or keep them on (12 mph) We have intellibeam on more than one vehicle and they all behave as advertised. I'm not aware of a mode that only keeps it active til the vehicle is shut off.
  24. Don't forget that it takes quite a while for the oil to drain back to the pan for an accurate reading. Especially cold oil.
