My understanding is usual practice is not not spray the tailgates that have the plastic facing. I've had tailgates that pre-dated the use of the plastic facing and were sprayed with bed-liner. Screw heads needed to be dealt with so they were still removable. Only issue I recall when both bed and gate were sprayed was if the sprayed material was too thick and caused binding between rear edge(s) of bed and edge(s) of tailgate. If plastic one gets damaged, bolt in a new piece. I agree with those that suggest not spraying. I don't know the tailgate load rating -- but have had a lot more confidence in the folding straps method that was used before the days of the cables with the crimped on ends. Over the years I've seen trucks that the cable system failed.

I bet you get used to it and won't even think about it. On the positive side is the same hand location as for adjusting intermittent setting.

If the truck is a spotless 'my baby' , as indicated then I'd get it fixed. If it's in good shape but in well worn work clothes it would get likely get left as a battle scar.

1500 tow mirrors have that functionality on the higher trims There is tow mirror without as many goodies. My 1500 is a '21. It has factory installed tow mirrors that are heated and power fold and have the camera toys. (360 view, truck and trailer side view when blinker running, etc etc) So, yes it can be done -- but I have no info about retro-fit requirements on the T1's K2's required max tow to get tow mirrors. T1's have max tow and tow mirrors as separate order items.

All mine come with an oil filter so it's not necessary to worry about " brand new engine might have some excess part braking materials in it, I don't want that to circulate in the motor"

I don't know it the make one specifically for the current 1500, but rocktamer does do hole in the flaps for some models. Sounds like Dirtbiker has cut his own holes. Rocktamer has a mesh solution in this image from their site

Alternator is managed by the computer. Many items affect the output that the computer commands the alternator to put out. Pages of info about this in the outfitter docs. Definitely not like the 'good old days'.

Boat and trailer weigh about 4200 dry. (according to spec sheet) Additional 200 lbs when pulled full of fuel. Boat OAL just under 21'. On trailer it's 8'0" high, 8'8" wide

Mine (3.0, std box, 4wd) happily tows 3500 or 4000 lbs of tandem axle enclosed trailer. No mods and no porpoising. I tow a boat with it too, but only 2 runs per year -- about 25 miles each. No porpoising pulling boat either. Different ball sizes (on different ball mounts), but both ball mounts with the correct offset so that the trailers tow flat. Fwiw, electric brakes on tandem, surge brakes on boat trailer.

Sorry about the smart remark, but we all know what they cost. Yupp, they're stupid expensive. But they can't build them fast enough, and the market seems to want all the ones with all the fancy toys. I never understand why posters seem to think pointing out what they paid somehow adds something to the discussion.

You have a different truck than the 2008 in avatar and In signature? 2008 would have label in glovebox with rpo's. If it's a (different and new enough truck enough it will have a QR code on doorpost. Has a bunch of the rpo codes that impact service/service parts. (not as many as glovebox label) May include the axle info. Any dealer can print the build sheet from a vin number.

If the rpo code is different, the colour is different. You would be very annoyed if a body shop used the wrong one on a repair of part of your truck. Sometimes/often, the divisions use a different name for the same rpo code. I don't know when quickliver was first offered... Satin Steel and quicksilver were offered on '21 model .
