After remote start the dash and radio on mine will come on as soon as the start button is pressed. Has yours always done that or is it something new? Has it been trying to complete and OTA update (those are infotainment system only)?

T1 trucks were introduced in 1500 a model year before the HD's In 2019, GM didn't offer tow mirrors on 1500's. Unless I misinterpreted the numbers, at about $4 per gallon it's still less than a penny per mile for def.

I hope there is an option that doesn't automatically unfold when unlocked. There are owners that need to fold mirrors to get in or out of the garage.... ....also suggests there are owners that cycle them in/out daily.

Mine doesn't have the '4 window down' button. Not on door, and not one of console switches (it is mentioned in the manual). I do use the 'windows down' function of the fob -- sometimes.

If not close enough to push the button, then probably also not close enough to verify that someone / something doesn't get caught by the window going up. At least that was my understanding of the logic. Just as remote start doesn't work with the hood open.

They can contact GM for help. Clearly, what you are describing is not the way it should run. I've put about 23K miles on mine. I don't think it's ever acted like you are describing. Back of the OM lists 'escalation steps to follow if you're not getting help from your service advisor.

I don't know if they will also 'learn with the tool' I'm definitely curious about that. My read is that the truck will each sensor ID / location each time it is driven after the the 20 or so minutes of stationary time. I'd guess someone figures at least 20 minutes is required to rotate tires? I don't have a '22.5 truck to do any trials. I do have a teach tool that I use when swapping winter / summer tires. (winter rims are take-offs with GM sensors) If I was to get a 'refreshed' 1500, I would like to be able to continue to run the same winter rims/tires -- without having to change to a newer sensor.

This discussion got my curiosity up, so I downloaded the OM for the 2022 refreshed Sierra. In the TPMS section: TPMS Sensor Matching Process — Auto Learn Function Each TPMS sensor has a unique identification code. The identification code needs to be matched to a new tire/wheel position after rotating the tires or replacing one or more of the TPMS sensors. When a tire is installed, the vehicle must be stationary for about 20 minutes before the system recalculates. The following relearn process takes up to 10 minutes, driving at a minimum speed of 20 km/h (12 mph). A dash (-) or pressure value will display in the DIC. See Driver Information Center (DIC) (Base Level) Driver Information Center (DIC) (Uplevel) . A warning message displays in the DIC if a problem occurs during the relearn process. Not sure how all this helps the discussion, other than to add the the truck needs to sit before a recalc, and then it needs to be driven up to 10 minutes for the relearn to occur.

How about the TTPMS system on the new trucks? Presumably the auto learn is for the vehicle only?

Location matters. Here, diesel is currently still cheaper than high test. (Usually diesel is a little over/under regular) I'm one of those that logs every fuel fill. My last 6.2 got 20 - 21 mpg. Doing the same job, hand calc mpg for my 3.0 is a little over 26. DEF cost is insignificant. (4.00$/gal / 1400miles/gal = $0.003 per mile) If we run out of diesel, putting fuel in a pickup will be the last of our worries.

It has 50,000 miles left on the powertrain warranty.

Fwiw, they did away with the red lights in the 2020+ tow mirrors. (complaints about the red flash for those inside the truck?) 2019 T1 (new style) 1500's didn't have any towing mirrors available. The new style mirrors became available in 2020, when the new version HD was released. These new style mirrors have the forward facing ambers. They also have rear facing white LED's that are activated with the cargo light circuitry. Great for backing up a trailer after dark.

Elevated Idle in the infotainment section will only activate in cold weather. It will shut itself off when ambient and/or coolant temps are above the programmed in values. If your truck never sees freezing weather it will not do anything. Ever. The ecm and bcm have are many reasons why it can and will increase idle speed, and several amounts of idle boost that they use. They are different from the idle boost during regen when stopped in traffic. They are also different from the rpm level used by the 'elevated idle' Most are related to electrical draw and charging system.

Shop would have been referring to the 2018 and earlier (K2 trucks) models. 2019 - current (T1 models) have interchangeable wheels. Some older styles may fit if they have a shape that works with the T1 calipers

I just (re) checked on my android phone . Maps areas covering routes I have viewed in the last few days have automatically saved the regions in 'offline maps' have expiration dates that are a year away, not a day away. I have no idea how long googlemaps stores them on an iphone -- it I'd guess they should be the same?

Which probably means a sensor or wiring needs to be repaired/replaced. I was just trying to let you know that it is not 'normal' for clean sensors to not function correctly, and also not typical that they need to be serviced. Good that you're taking it in.

I think this is the 4th truck we've had with park assist. Haven't had issues with any of them. Of course when sensors are covered with dirt/mud/snow/ice etc, the don't work. Clean 'em off and good to go. Or go old school...
