  1. There is not 'constraint' on super cruise on GM pickups. (because it's never been available) Companies have been advertising 'what is coming' for years. It's a standard marketing method to generate interest for when ordering/purchasing becomes available. Super cruise has never been available on GM pickups. Adaptive cruise is available on GM 1500 pickups. (but not HD's) Standard cruise is available on GM pickups. It's not possible to order any 'refreshed' 1500 pickup yet. (the generation that introduces supercruise to GM pickups) The order guide doesn't yet contain model information and option codes for those trucks. I think the whole self driving thing will be a fiasco for the automotive industry as each company calls the different 'cruise' versions / lane keep assist / lane departure warnings / braking assists / blind spot assist / etc /etc by different names and with different details about how they work. It's gonna continue to be (already is ) a disaster when operators think the vehicle they are driving has a capability that it does not.
  2. 2022 'refreshed' specs are now out for both chev and gmc. (6 speed is gone) 2.7 will stay with the 8 speed for the refreshed 2022's TRANSMISSION & AXLE Type: Hydra-Matic 8-speed automatic (2.7L) Hydra-Matic 10-speed automatic (5.3L, 6.2L, 3.0L turbo-diesel)

  9. I don't have much faith in the def level indicator. Did you top it off to make sure it was full when you started measuring miles? Same as determining fuel consumption - must fill the tank, drive a bunch of miles, refill the tank -- then miles driven divided by refill amount. Point is if it's wasn't full and 3200 --and/or not full at 11,000 we can't accurately calc mpg. If it was full at both, then it's (11000-3200) / 10 = 780 mpg What has the fuel economy been over the same period? Mine was not full when delivered. At 733 miles I went to a def pump location and topped it up. Since then it's been refilled twice - both times at a metered pump. Total miles 13,248 (since the top-up at 733) Total def refills 42.7L (11.3 gal) --- this ignores the first top-up at 700 miles def mpg 13248 / 11.3 = 1172 First fill gave a little over 1400mpg, second was 900 something. 2nd fill had more towing, so more fuel -- and more fuel burned requires more def. Average fuel mpg (life of truck) is about 25.5
  10. Pretty sure OP was asking about the 'auto stop/start' at a light, not about it shutting off when idling in park. (although that question is frequently asked as well....)
  11. How many watts do I need? Couple charts from an outfit that sells inverters: https://www.donrowe.com/usage-chart-a/259.htm
  12. Probably depends on how much lift...
  13. I thought 'Universal Home Remote (Homelink) had always been optional -- except maybe on Denali and High Country. Sorry, I'm no help on retrofit.
  14. Charge only or data ports?
  15. What happens when you bore and stroke a 572... (other than 1004 hp and 876 lb-ft of torque on pump gas.)

  17. Recommended tire pressures are always for when the tires are cold. Believe it or not, tire manufacturers and auto manufacturers know that tires get warm and pressure increases when they are drive. (duhh...) They account for this in the recommendation. It would be really tough to ask an owner to check the tire pressure when the tire temperature was at, well, any temperature other that 'cold'. As Grumpy points out, tire pressure sensors work when tires are 'cold' as well as when 'warm' after being driven. Tire manufacturers also have 'load vs inflation pressure' tables for all tires. This gives the recommended 'cold' pressures for different loads on the same tire. The load/inflation sticker on the door gives the value from that table for the vehicle -- if it has the same size and load rating as it was born with.
  18. Do you ever reset the 'best' number or is that 'best 400 lifetime'? I never reset mine -- the 'average' is always the most recent.
  19. That's what it's supposed to do. There is a limit to how long stop/start will stay off. There is a long list of things that will prevent it from stopping, or will restart before the timer. pg 232 in the '21 sierra ON Auto Engine Stop/Start When the brakes are applied and the vehicle is at a complete stop, the engine may turn off. When stopped, the tachometer displays AUTO STOP. See Tachometer pg 109. When the brake pedal is released or the accelerator pedal is pressed, the engine will restart. To maintain vehicle performance, other conditions may cause the engine to automatically restart before the brake pedal is released. Auto Stops may not occur and/or Auto Starts may occur because: . The climate control settings require the engine to be running to cool or heat the vehicle interior. . The vehicle battery charge is low. . The vehicle battery has recently been disconnected. . Minimum vehicle speed has not been reached since the last Auto Stop. . The accelerator pedal is pressed. . The engine or transmission is not at the required operating temperature. . The outside temperature is not in the required operating range. . The vehicle is in any gear other than D (Drive). . Tow/Haul Mode or other driver modes have been selected. . The vehicle is on a steep hill or grade. . The driver door has been opened or the driver seat belt has been unbuckled. . The hood has been opened. . The Auto Stop has reached the maximum allowed time.
  20. Crap accumulated in weather stripping, window or mechanism in door that is loose are other possible causes. Anything that makes the window motor work harder than is expected.
  21. OM has info about this problem. It might be because it thinks it is hitting an obstruction and the safety is opening it back up. Has it had a 'low' or disconnected battery? Regardless.... Window Automatic Reversal System The express-close feature will reverse window movement if it comes in contact with an object. Extreme cold or ice could cause the window to auto-reverse. The window will operate normally after the object or condition is removed. Automatic reversal can be overridden.... Automatic Reversal System Override {Warning If automatic reversal system override is active, the window will not reverse automatically. You or others could be injured and the window could be damaged. Before using automatic reversal system override, make sure that all people and obstructions are clear of the window path. When the engine is on, override the automatic reversal system by pulling and holding the window switch if conditions prevent it from closing. but you may need to 'reprogram' the windows.... Programming the Power Windows Programming may be necessary if the vehicle battery has been disconnected or discharged. If the window is unable to express-up, program each express-close window: 1. Close all doors. 2. Turn the ignition on or to ACC/ ACCESSORY. 3. Partially open the window to be programmed. Then close it and continue to pull the switch briefly after the window has fully closed. 4. Open the window and continue to press the switch briefly after the window has fully opened. Be sure to complete all four steps.
  22. Not sure how this helps with the aftermarket discussion, but the the factory ordered one gets installed at the dealer, and it requires a different calibration. https://gm-techlink.com/?p=14771 GM Accessory Cold Air Intake System Requires Calibration May 17, 2021 The Chevrolet Performance, GMC and Cadillac Cold Air Intake System (RPO 5W7, RVK) available on 2021 Camaro, Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, Sierra, Yukon and Escalade models equipped with the 5.3L V8 engine (RPO L84), 6.2L V8 engine (RPO L87) or 6.2L V8 engine (RPO LT1) should only be installed on vehicles that were ordered with the RPO/LPO (dealer installed) option. (Fig. 17) The Cold Air Intake System requires a calibration from the Techline Customer Support Center (TCSC), which is not available for vehicles without the proper RPO/LPO 5W7 or RVK option. Fig. 17 The Cold Air Intake System is a Limited Production Option (LPO) that can be ordered with the vehicle at the time of purchase. It is not to be installed or sold as an Accessory Catalog Offering (ACO), or over-the-counter accessory, as the calibration is not available for ACO applications. If installed on an incorrect vehicle, the Check Engine MIL may illuminate and DTCs P0172 (Fuel Trim System Rich) and P0175 (Fuel Trim System Rich Bank 2) may set. Calibrations for GM Accessories GM Accessories that require updated calibrations must have the calibrations installed to ensure proper operation of the new accessory components as well as other related vehicle systems, whether it’s an air intake system that includes an ECM update, a front grill package that involves front camera operation, or larger wheels and tires that impact the operation of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems on the vehicle. Calibration updates that are not performed following the installation of an accessory may not only limit system performance, but may also leave the vehicle non-compliant with regional government regulations. TIP: If programming is attempted before contacting TCSC when installing accessories that require an updated calibration, the Service Programming System (SPS) will not deliver the correct accessory calibration to the vehicle. SPS may display a message advising users that they are attempting to program with the “same calibration” — a warning that the vehicle has not received the required accessory calibration. Installation Information Installation sheets for GM Accessories can be found in the Accessories Manuals in the Service Information. If the procedures are updated or improvements are made, checking the instructions with each installation will ensure the latest information is being followed. To locate the instructions, select the year, make and model of the vehicle from the dropdown menus. Next, from the Publication page, select the Accessories Manual link. (Fig 18) Fig. 18 Installation Questions The following sources are available to help dealerships with any questions on GM Accessories. 24. FWIW, in a few days (Thursday evening) they are unveiling the 2022 1500 Sierra refresh. New interior will likely be similar to the new 1500 Silverado interior revealed a couple weeks back.
