  2. Get a keylock tailgate from a lower trim truck. They are still standard on base trims and still available to order on some others.
  3. I've ordered a bunch of trucks over the years and haven't given a deposit or signed agreement for any of them. When they arrived we were always able to make a deal. I did have a dealer wanted me to guarantee I would pay the agreed price - but they wouldn't guaranteed me an agreed price for my trade. I ordered it somewhere else. If you are ordering a truck spec'd like something the dealer would order I don't think they would need a deposit. If you want a combination of options they consider hard to sell then maybe they won't order without a deposit. As OnTheReel pointed out when there is no inventory they are likely glad to be able to submit it as a 'sold order'.
  4. Diesel smoke in the shop still reminds me of "pullin' tractor" days -- in the '70's...
  5. I put the tool fully on the sidewall of the tire, maybe 1/2 -3/4" or so from where the bed and rim meet. I'm wondering if the signal doesn't travel thru the rim as easily as thru the side of tire?? The tool used was one of the many EL-50448 tools available for about $20. (I figure they are all the same except for the printing on the front face) If it didn't chirp as the tool was operated near each tire -- then it won't have paired the new sensors.
  6. Lifetime is currently 25.6. Big dips are towing (less than full tank trips) I've never plotted any of my 6.6's, but I logged the fills and they
  7. What makes you think Grumpy drives a duramax? I'm pretty sure his truck is a V6 gas... Fwiw, based on how mine have been I could be convinced it is a 3.0L dmax, but certainly not a 6.6L dmax.
  8. Didn't do anything other than the procedure in the manual. Got the truck is in learn mode (2 chirps) and held the tool against each tire to til another chirp. After the 4th wheel the truck also gave another double chirp Did this with a set of GM take-offs ('21's I think) to my truck this week.
  9. Mines a 1500 with the 10 speed. 180 - 185 seems to be it's target temperature. Needs to run 15 or 20 miles +/- before it reaches that temp -- but that is consistently where it goes. I certainly wouldn't be concerned about 170F
  10. According to 'tire size comparator' ( https://tiresize.com/comparison/ ) 275/65R18 is within 3% of 275/60R20. No speedo recal necessary. Speedo 60 indicated should be 58.4 actual (assuming the OE tire is true to the Of course second set of rims and pressure sensors required. I just got a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta-R3 is available in the above 18" size. (installed on GM 'take-off' rims) To soon to offer evaluation / comment other than smooth and quiet running.
  11. 25/3500 diesels still have a cap system. 1500 diesel gets the capless 15/25/35 gas engines have capless
  12. Where did you see sending a credit card is required?
  13. Also going to depend if it is a dealer that frequently deals in trucks with similar mods. In this area it seems that some do, some don't. 22's were an option on Denali -- some buyers don't want them either.
  14. If you decide you want a 1500 crew with the standard bed (6.5 or 6.8 or whatever bed length they are now) instead of the tiny bed, the truck will be longer than your current 18 2500 crew/standard. The job you describe sounds like it would be suitable for a 1500, although I'm not sure you need a lifted one to do that.
  15. I believe that is the fill number. Each fill is a data point. About 325 of them.
  16. 2022 3500 Rear Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) (with Single Rear Wheels), L5P, lbs. (kg) 7250 (3289) Rear Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) (with Dual Rear Wheels), L5P, lbs. (kg) 10500 (4763) Cab and box do not influence the RGAWR (of course they do affect the payload ratings...)
  17. Part of 'slight delay' from pushing button until it begins to crank could be the glow plug cycle getting longer as the days get cooler.
  18. If you ordered one thru a dealer, have them send you one. Presumably they are still interested in your business. Might as well have them get you a build sheet while they're at it.
  19. don't forget that the HD's are taller than the 1500's before the lift (and they are taller than they used to be...) The stock '20+ 2500 is taller than the stock 1500 with the factory 2" lift. comparing crew std box 4wd versions" 2500 - 79.82" 1500 with 2" factory lift - 78.2" (so the 2500 is a about 1.6" taller) 1500 no factory lift - 75.4" (so the 2500 is 4.4" taller) Short bed crew 1500's are a little taller (presumably cuz they weight less and have same suspension) EDIT: oopps -- I ignored that the OP truck is a 3500 (presumably srw) 3500 crew std bed 4wd is a little taller than the 2500 3500 is 80.87" -- it starts at 5.5 inches taller than a non-lifted 1500
  20. Another story with similar retrofit info: https://www.msn.com/en-ca/autos/news/gm-to-retrofit-heated-seat-feature-on-newly-sold-vehicles-in-mid-2022/ar-AAQUISC
  21. Take it in. That's not normal. Dealer needs to find the location of leak and correct. it. My opinion is give the dealer the symptoms and let them do the diagnosis. (tell them the things you have observed it doing, rather than giving a list of things the internet said it might be)
  22. Would've guessed shop rate plus disposal might have been more...
  23. Last 2 full size LED segments are supposed to be about 1 gallon each. The others are supposed to be about 1/2 gallons each. Seems like the top one depends on how much it gets topped up after 'full'. 3.0 tank only holds 5.3 gallons. When 3 full size segments are on, the manual thinks that it will take 2.5 gallon -- so with only 3 on it's still about 1/2 full.
  24. Helm Inc is the distributor. Newest currently offered is 2018. $595 iirc, there is always a few years lag between model year and public manual availability -- but maybe they are now discontinued. Last set I bought was bound in multiple volumes, about 8.5 x 11 pages, and filled about 2 feet on the shelf. Covered 1500/2500/3500, silverado and sierra, and all engines and transmissions offered in the year the set was for. https://www.helminc.com/helm/product2.asp?Make=GMC&Model=SIER&Year=2018&Category=1&class_2=GMC&mk=GMC&yr=2018&md=Sierra&dt=Shop%2FService+Information&module=&from=result&Style=helm&Sku=GMT18CKPU&itemtype=N
