  1. The should be selling the same filter. Some dealers have higher markup than others. GM Part Number ACDelco Part Number 23304096 TP1015 L5P 6.6 and LM2 3.0 use the same filter. It is both a debris filter and a water separator
  2. ...was a duplicate...
  3. It's just one of the ways. It's especially effective if vehicle as low usage. It wins two ways. Depreciation dollars per year are also much lower as they get a little age.
  4. Sounds like the current truck is paid off. Also sounds like it's not used as a commuter vehicle or to keep a business running. Presumably that means miles per year are on the low side, and it's possible to leave in in the shop for a few days for any repairs that are needed. If repairs are say $1000 and you avoid says $1000/month in payments -- and drive it one more month. then it's a wash. (Or $1000 in repair, $500 in monthly payments and drive it 2 more months -- or any other similar combo) I guess I don't understand the using the repair as an excuse to jump into another cycle of payments. I like running newer stuff as much as anybody, but when I look back over 40 years of vehicle purchases (mostly new ones) the ones that give the best memories turn out to be the ones driven for a bunch of years after they were fully paid for. Of course if you just want a new one, and it fits your finances, go for it.

  6. You're kidding, right?
  7. You don't have to use 20's, but you'll want a rim style that works with the 19+ . Some of the ones that worked on the previous generation won't work on the newer ones
  8. I quite using the cameras after i learned how to adjust the mirrors.
  9. Currently in a '21 3.0 /10 speed. Like the idea of taking advantage (again) of unusually higher trade-in values (assuming that reasonable pricing / discount is again available on a ordered truck) I detest the concept of wasting console space for a goofy shifter. I coulda' lived with the 'switch' system that is used in some GM's. Of course sometimes opinions change after seeing a vehicle IRL, but at this point I'm very disappointed and not planning a change. Yes, I realize it seems that some trims will still have the column shifter, but there are other 'toys' I want on the truck that aren't available on those trims...
  10. Only for the first one or 2 regens...
  11. The kit that is available from GM includes longer shafts. https://accessories.chevrolet.com/product/lift-suspension-upgrade-system-for-4wd-vehicles-84993582?model=Silverado 1500&modelId=491&bodyId=22&body=Crew Cab Pickup&wheelId=651&wheel=Short Box&trimId=478&trim=LTZ&driveId=8&drive=4WD&engineId=2059&engine=5.3L V8 GAS&bodyNumDoors=5&year=2019&make=Chevrolet&categoryId=98004
  12. The HD trucks are taller. An HD truck is taller than a 1500 with the 2" factory lift. 1500 boxes(22.4") are deeper inside than 2500 (21") boxes. 4wd DC 1500 has 8.09" ground clearance 4wd DC 2500 std box has 10.12" ground clearance
  13. If you had a 'keep driving' message, it was way beyond the usual soot level for starting a regen. There is no message during a regular regen. On LM2 I don't notice a change in sound when driving -- but do notice exhaust sound when idling. For entertainment I decided to get an aftermarket obd port monitor. Normal regen on LM2 is quicker than the 6.6's I ran. On LM2 it only lasts 11 or 12 miles. If interrupted, it will resume the regen soon after starting the next trip. If the regen was close to finished when parked, it not resume. Of course this means the next one will start a little sooner. Daily driving I usually get regens in the 200 - 300 mile range. When it's working harder it and has higher exhaust temps it seems to passively regen and results in intervals can be 600+ miles.
  14. fwiw, UKC is lane change alert UHX is lane keep assist, and not available on an '21 1500 LT (on LTZ, HC chev's, and SLE, SLT, AT4 and Denali gmc's UHX is an available option) Does your dealer parts counter know if that part number supports lane change alert?
  15. 1500's went to new style in 2019 HD boxes changed to new style in 2020 The new LD and HD are not the same
  16. I've checked mine with the tires cold and sitting in the shade. The TPMS readings were spot on with my collection of air pressure gauges. (I was using the exercise as a chance to verify that I didn't need to remove any handhelds from service) Tires DO quickly warm and increase in pressure when the vehicle is driven. Trucks that are sitting with one side in the sun will have higher pressure on the sunny side if they have been sitting there long enough for the sun to warm the sun exposed tires.
  17. Don't know if any apply, but there is a long list of things that are supposed to prevent auto stop/start from stopping. Auto Stops may not occur and/or Auto Starts may occur because: . The climate control settings require the engine to be running to cool or heat the vehicle interior. . The vehicle battery charge is low. . The vehicle battery has recently been disconnected. . Minimum vehicle speed has not been reached since the last Auto Stop. . The accelerator pedal is pressed. . The engine or transmission is not at the required operating temperature. . The outside temperature is not in the required operating range. . The vehicle is in any gear other than D (Drive). . Tow/Haul Mode or other driver modes have been selected. . The vehicle is on a steep hill or grade. . The driver door has been opened or the driver seat belt has been unbuckled. . The hood has been opened. . The Auto Stop has reached the maximum allowed time. Of course if there are a bunch of weird electrical things going on it may have nothing to do with any of these.
  18. A blinking HDC light indicates the system is actively applying the brakes to maintain vehicle speed. HDC can maintain vehicle speeds between 1 and 22 km/h (1 and 14 mph) on grades greater than or equal to 10%.
  19. You mean the fold-out handle for climbing in the back? If so, the handle is installed in mine, under a RetraxOne Mx. Handle was removed during installation of track/rail for the cover and reinstalled after. The mount for the handle does appear to be touching the bottom edge of the track/rail. I suppose the handle mount could be spaced out a little, but it was not on this installation. Mine is a standard box. I don't know if there are differences in the mount location on a short box that would make this not work.
  20. Something made the messages come up and applied a speed limit. Would made sense if some sort of information stored by the computers. Curious to hear what a scanner discovers.
  21. Did the update reset the default for the Remote Left in Vehicle Alert?
  22. Mine pulls like a champ too. 14000 miles and lifetime fuel economy over 25.5 usmpg. I log every fill and track both dic numbers and hand calc numbers. I ran several 1500 V8 8 spds doing the same job and they got 20. I'd argue that the 'lemon' has/had an undiagnosed mechanical problem Turbo actuator mounted loose was one of the documented issues that would have caused similar performance issues. Lack of performance was one of the possible symptoms Ad Tj points out above, steady speed runs will give great numbers.
  23. They're also tired of fighting about warranty coverage for damage caused by stuff that owners did wrong. I'm not saying there aren't fully capable owners out there, but there are also lots of owners that should never be allowed to attempt any sort of maintenance.
  24. If you click where it says '17 replies' it should take you to the thread. (presumably if number replies changes it will give the new number )
  25. Sounds like some need to read the owners manual to learn what it is supposed to do and the warnings about what that it will not do.
