  1. After 3 trips to the dealer for non warranty AC repairs in the past month I cut my losses and traded on a new Platnium F-150. Over 3 years I've replaced 2 coil packs, AC compressor, condenser, hoses, and AC module. Seat kept moving and the vibration was still hit or miss. Ford dealers seem to be wheelin and dealin with the new refresh coming later this year. I decided not to wait was the current front looks better IMO. I've never owned a Ford before today and I'm impressed. Wanted to keep my LTZ for many more years, but with 87k miles on my 2014 it was starting to nickle and dime me. VIbration never went away completely even with upgraded Nitto Terra Grapplers. So if you are still having vibration issues checkout the competition as I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Best of luck to everyone.
  2. Mine has 87k miles and was recently was in the shop for the air condition for the fifth time since I purchased it new. Two of the five were under warranty the last three were not. Control module was replace the first time. AC compressor was replaced on the second visit. High-pressure hose third visit. Loss of Freon dye installed to find leak 4th visit. Condenser replaced last week. I have spent a total of $1500 in the past month on this truck. Now that it's time for 90,000 mile service and the with the potential for additional AC issues I plan to trade it in within the next week or 2. Can't decide if I want to try another 2017 GM truck or switch to Ford all together. This has been the worst new car experience I've had. Also since new have replaced coil packs and the vibration is transient above 70 mph. Based on the vibration thread that has over 700 replies the problem hasn't been cured. Also had the shifting seat and dashboard creaks. I still love the looks of the truck which has kept it in the driveway. But the last month had made me decide to cut my losses.
  3. Finally replaced my switchblade retractable cover with an Undercover Elite LX. Very nice cover that's 100% waterproof and removes easily when needed. I rarely carry items that won't transport with the cover closed. After having our luggage get wet while traveling on long trips this cover was perfect.
  4. I sealed the tailgate but still get lots of water along the sides. Since I have a BedRug installed it takes a long time for the water to dry up. When we travel we have to wrap our luggage in plastic bag in case we hit a rainstorm so its time to upgrade. I rarely carry tall items but since the Undercover comes off quickly I will have that flexibility I went ahead and ordered a painted Elite LX from AutoAnything today which should arrive sometime next week. I will post up some pics once it arrives.
  5. I currently have a Pace Edwards Switchblade which hasn't fit correctly since day one. With the need to now have a waterproof bed its time to get a solid tonneau cover. I've settled on the Undercover Elite but not sure if the painted version is worth the 400 upcharge. My truck is black so wondering if anyone has an non-painted one on a black Silverado. I haven't been able to locate any pictures online of a newer Black Silverado with the standard Undercover Elite. Please post pics if anyone has this combo. Thanks
  6. Stock 22 SEY Wheels on 285/45/22 Nitto Terra Grappler G2. Quiet A/T tire that weighs about 30 pounds less per tire than the Trail Grappler (which I wanted). Since my truck has a 3:08 rear differential figured I should stick with the Terra Grapplers so I won't rob to much power from the truck. Going with the Nitto also significantly reduced the vibrations I was feeling above 75 mph.
  7. You are probably correct. Not sure what options were in the OP's overhead console which may make a difference in the connector as I tried the purple and white wire as my 12v postive but only the purple and yellow worked and had the proper voltage. I purchased a 3 dollar female cigarette port and put that behind the panel and plugged in the cigarette plug that came with the camera since it reduced the voltage to 5v. Im sure I could have taken the connector apart and made solder connections but this worked just fine with the wire taps and didn't take very long.
  8. I used this thread to locate a 12v source in the overhead console to wire my dash cam. Didn't want run the wire all the way to the fuse panel. My truck is an LTZ CC with sunroof and sliding rear glass and home link. The OP instructions to tap the purple and white wire didn't work for me. When I connected as mentioned above the fuse blew in my camera connector. I used my voltmeter and saw the purple and white was reading 14.7 volts...which was odd. For my truck the Black wire as ground worked but I had to tap the purple and yellow wire along the bottom of the large connector for a 12v source that turned off with the ignition. Very easy install and the camera is discretely hidden behind the mirror beside the factory front collision sensor. Hope this helps
  9. It is absolutely best to reply to someone's comment you agree with in the open forum. We are talking about a simple phone here. It may be something Blackbear is considering who knows. Businesses make adjustments all the time based on customer need and demand. If only one person makes a suggestion and no one chimes in then its not given a 2nd thought. If it becomes something that customers want and it drives business you can believe it will happen. That's basic business so don't chide me or others that may have a question about the product they purchased and can't wait 24 hours or in Chad2815 case a week for a reply.
  10. If you would have taken the time and read my earlier post before commenting you would have realized I didn't ask a question to begin with. I simply was commenting/agreeing on the post by Chad2815 about the lack of a phone at BlackBear. Then Isriam chimes in quoting my post telling me what I should do and you have done the same. Jumping to a conclusion without reading all the previous comments to understand the conversation....classic.
  11. Maybe you should refrain from giving me your advice when I didn't ask for it. The price isn't significantly lower to not warrant a phone. It's just a model they have adopted. There are plenty of mom and pop businesses that are brick and mortar waiting on customers everyday with a working telephone.
  12. I agree great tune results but unfortunately the Autocal doesn't come with instruction on how to load the stock tune back if you need to go in for major service and FAQ's is no substitute for a live person. Email only communication is definitely a drawback.
  13. I posted in this thread last summer about vibrations felt in my 2014 CC SB LTZ 4x4 with 3:08 rear. At the time I realized what was going on with my truck it had around 14k-15k miles. My truck is running the stock SEY 22's with the factory Bridgestone tires. I went through Road Force Balancing and all and didn't really feel a difference. With work and all I didn't have time to keep running back and forth to the dealer or look into lemon law proceedings. To make a long story short i have had my truck exactly one year and have 28k miles on it and those same vibrations that were present at 70mph and greater have all but disappeared. I have only rotated my tires at each oil change and the problem has resolved itself. I think the tires were partially to blame as they now have roughly 60% life remaining. It could also be that parts are more broken in and those tolerance flaws have evened out. My truck rides 100% better and I hope its last me for years to come or until the next recall.
  14. What wheels and tire combo are you running?
