  1. So I drove it about 50miles today and 10 miles on the highway and no code yet. My uncle is a mechanic and plugged his scan tool in and drove around and didn’t see any misfires or odd voltage on either cylinder. He recommended to just change plugs and wires and if I want the coil pack. Only have 55k miles but it’s 8 years old he said my short trips and low mileage he said plugs could be bad. He also said if the lifter was stuck and released he thought there would be some ticking but he has always seen a lifters go bad that trip a code and always bad for good and don’t come and go.
  2. I swapped the ignition coil and deleted the code it runs normal and drove it around the block with no code coming on. do you think its a faulty coil intermittently going out and eventually it will show code on the 1 cylinder I moved it too. Or If it is bad lifter would it be intermittent and be ok after sitting overnight I figured a bent lifter wouldn’t be an occasional issue
  3. My truck bogged down a few times this week and I figured it was because it was first time I put 87 in and it’s a 2014 6.2 which recommends premium. Then today after I accelerated hard check engine came on and lost power. Code p0307 cylinder 7 misfire. I’m going to swap a coil pack to see if it’s a bad coil pack but if I do have failed lifter anyone have a place to do the repair in northwest Chicago suburbs?
  4. My truck is a 2014 but I retrofitted to 2016 LED GMC housings about 4 years ago. Today the passenger low beam didn’t come on. I tried high beams which both came on but when switching back to low it still didn’t come on. I then turned lights off and waited a minute and back on and then both low beams came on. is my housing about to crap out of is it just the module mounted on the back of housing?
  5. I was really set on Nitto Ridge Grapplers 35x12.5r20 but after all the research I have found a lot of reviews saying they are terrible in rain and snow. Some reviews say they are great is rain/snow but it’s 50/50 it seems. I currently have Toyo RT and they are also terrible in snow and ride much harder in winter. I have read 3 peak snowflake rated tires are softer compound for winter and snow driving which narrows it down to the Falken At3W or the Mickey Thompson which both are 3peak rated. I am leaning to the Mickey Thompson based on the looks but they are so new I have only found 1 review on you tube stating they ride great and have a nice soft ride and quiet. I had Mickey Thompson atzp3 7 years ago and the were the worst tire in cold weather and snow which makes me Leary on going with the Baja boss. Any other suggestions on aggressive looking but must be good in rain and snow?
  6. I currently have 35x12.5r20 toyo rt E load 10 ply tires and need new tires. I really like the ridge grappler look but they and most tires my size are now F load. Anyone go from 10 to 12 ply notice a big difference in ride quality?
  7. So my truck has always had a harsh shift 1-2 and 2-3 in the morning until trans temp is around 120-150 then shift smooth. I was alway told it’s the programming holding shifts longer to warm it up but I was in a friends 2014 Silverado and his is smooth shifting all the time even on cold starts and his doesn’t hunt Around for gears. If I manually shift mine it is seamless and smooth. I was also told try changing fluid which I did a week ago which did make it smoother but now is back to harsh shifting. I know it has to be a programming issue and not mechanical since it is seamless when manually shifting. Anyone had luck with any TSB to reprogram the computer? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. I have this same issue and took mine to the dealer today. They diagnosed it as my negative battery cable harness being bad and needs to be replaced. It is drawing too many mili amps but they said they don’t see any corrosion visible. Also Battery cable harness isn’t covered under the extended platinum GM warranty. They want to charge 3 hrs labor plus the cable total of about $800! Does this sound like an accurate diagnosis and I am pretty sure I could change the cable myself. Has anyone else replaced their battery cables?
  9. So I have a Diablo Intune with custom tune from Diablew. The engine tune is great but I’m on my 5 th trans tune and just cannot get rid of the hard 1-2 shift. Currently only changes made to the tranny tune now are WOT shift point rpm, and shift quickness.. everything else is stock settings. I like the shift feel of the stock trans tune but hate how it hunts around when I go to accelerate while moving and there is a delay until power kicks in. Ha Sanyo next used the stock trans tune and modified a setting to get rid of the delay Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. I know this is an old thread but do you know what size type of capacitor I should tap into my drl wire? The drl cutoff circuit is intermittently not working and I’m going to remove it and just go back to straight harness. The drl doesn’t come back on after using the turn signal and I tried replacing the resistor and relay. Just going to remove it I prefer the drl staying on with the turn signal just world like to try fixed the flickering strobing drl on the cold start. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. The ride is much better now mostly because I got rid of the Mickey Thompson ATZ tires and switched to Toyo RT. Also I unbolted the shocks just to see how stiff the springs were and they were actual very soft. I could bounce the rear easily so it’s the fox shocks that were extremely stiff. They have softened up to where the ride is pretty good. If I had a 17 or 18in rim and more sidewall the ride would be even better. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. The center cover comes off and license plate holes are under the cover Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Are you making an selling these? I will take a set if so Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Wow looks great! So you are basically at trail boss height with the 2” level kit and can fit 35s on aftermarket offset wheels Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. What is your tire size and is it leveled? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. Those 325 ridge grapplers spec our at 13” wide. Do you think a flotation size 35x12.5 ridge grappled will fit without spacers? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. I also have a 2014 with XM onstar and nav. I ordered a painted silver 2015 antenna. Am I correct to assume I just need to swap the internal parts of the 14 antenna into the new painted antenna. None of the pieces inside the 2015 antenna will work on a 2014?
  18. I also have a silver 2014. What needs to be modified to make these work on a 14?
  19. https://offhighwayequipment.com/silverado-sierra/silverado-sierra-1500-2014-2018-auxiliary-light-switch-kit-single-channel-with-fog-lights/ just found this company making a wiring kit to add the factory switch for off road lights
  20. there is an off road page on later model trucks showing wheel angles and vehicle angles plus it shows if it is in 2wd or 4wd
  21. I am really wanting to to this switch to a denali IP but have been looking for a 2014 cluster with no luck. Am I correct that the Denali cluster must come from same model year as my Slt. Also was wondering does the Denali cluster from 2014 come with the off road page?
  22. So I have had the 2016 led headlights installed with Van’s harness for 2 years without problems and today while sitting at a stop I saw reflection in car in front of me that my driver side headlight turned off but the drl and side marker still lit. About 30-40 seconds later Headlight came back on. Anyone else have any issues with the headlights going out? I bought the headlights brand new not used so I’m hoping the assembly is going bad. I would think if it was a connection issue in the harness the drl would have also gone out
  23. Yes all factory wheels have positive offset after market are 0 or negative meaning aftermarket wheels will stick out more than oe wheels. The 35s on stock wheels apparently fit leveled trucks or stock trailboss/at4 with the mud flap removed or trimmed
