  1. You stiffen due to limiting the available travel due to spring tension, as you tighten the spring, coils start on the top and bottom of the spring lay on each other, forcing the center of the spring to due the work, same tension, just less compliance.?.
  2. Very nice work, looks great. I've used the plasti dip on badges and other small areas with much success, like lots of other people. I Was looking to black an alum Camlocker toolbox. I remember reading several people saying they thought it wouldn't work. I see lots of bumpers, smooth metal that gets hit frequently by debris. The dip obviously holds up well. I am not rough on the toolbox. Thoughts? Would it work or not?
  3. Where did you get the .5" rear block?
  4. I'm playing with the psi, I'm up to 42 cold, stiffer but handles better.
  5. 2014?If so, what setting do you have the front at?
  6. I purchased a set of BF's and they handle much better, but it didn't cure my 43-48mph vibe.I have programmed afm off, balanced tires, replaced tires, checked the backlash on the ring gear(in spec), and nothing has fixed it. It's not bad, and I have chosen to live with it for now, or until a cure is found or acknowledged. I'm not gonna let the dealer throw parts at what is obviously a variable issue between trucks, and the service dept have no idea what to do other than what a bulletin tells them to....trained monkeys for the most part. So few mechanics left these days.
  7. Same situation here also, never bad vibes but more noticeable at times than others.
  8. This seems to be happening in several threads, usually due to unneeded rhetoric about "my other non gm truck", best thing you will ever do. Everyone is entitled to opinions, but there opinion is not needed in every thread, or post. (Mods) I realize I am currently jacking this thread, but really If this offends anyone in-particular, and you wish to post about your other truck and why it's so great, please do, in a thread dedicated to you and your truck, or another non gm forum. Hopefully back to topics, and I apologize.
  9. Mine are 285/65r18, fit fine, no rub or issue. These are alittle louder, but seem to be a better rubber, handle great, and should be alittle better offroad.
  10. Just put a set on mine, ride stiffer but handle well, balanced well. Got a slight roar, but not bad at all.
  11. I concur 110% with your statement.
  12. I've watched your vids keakar. Bottom line, there is problems out there, GM would not be buying back as they are. It is hit and miss with the trucks, and I think some people are overreacting to the slightest vibe or bump' including me at times. Overall I'm happy with mine also, but I've been at the dealership and looked in a side room at 2014 rear ends sitting on the floor, swaps secondary to vibes. I ain't calling anyone out, but that is fact.
  13. Just did mine, again, wow the amount of flex, all home now with super glue and 3 washers. Yet to drive, but feel it can only be better.
  14. Were you able to check mpg, k&n vs stock, and tell a diff?
  15. Obviously I'm not qualified..... Thanks What's the trick if it's a simple reply
  16. Can't figure out how to rotate the pics. Sorry
  17. Got a set of 285/65r18. Ride nice, look great. Stiffer but totally expected. Will try to post a pic later, it's NASTY here today.
  18. We'll I put a set of bfg ko2's on today; my vibration is still there. It's no worse, and as stated has never been bad, just noticeable only between 43-48 mph. Oh well I'm done chasing the vibe, not in the tires, not in the backlash. I'm just gonna ignore until chevy admits and fixes, or pigs fly....got a feeling pig dynasty will be a hit before gm ever acknowledges. Oh we'll got new shoes
  19. He basically is saying sorry, he was wrong.... Way to stay classy in this Maine, most would have lost their sh
  20. Anyone that can get their hands on a dial gauge, and you have the vibration 40-50 mph, just remove your diff cover and check your backlash. Took me alittle over an hour, and now I know. Replacing the tires tomorrow.
  21. Checked it last night, measured between .005-.007". Had 1 tooth that was right at .008", the rest were right at .007" or alittle less. Thanks for the advice.
  22. Thanks. typed an extra 0, my bad
  23. Tonight, I'm gonna open the diff and check the backlash and circumvent all the road force/balancing/wasted time. If the backlash is within tolerance, I'll put a set of tires on it, and do a few other mods I have been putting off. In the last couple weeks, my vibration has all but went away. 43-48mph steering wheel vibe. I know someone posted before, the backlash specs. I found 5-7 ten thousandths, .0007 being the max....does this sound correct? Tonight, I'm gonna open the diff and check the backlash and circumvent all the road force/balancing/wasted time.
