If you think about it, if you have your highs on close enough to where you're blinding someone else then it's because of the high beams, not fogs. On lows the fogs mainly help light up the area closer to the truck. I also figure that if it's a situation where I need or want the highs on then fogs on with highs is an added plus. As said, you're still able to turn the fogs on and off with the lows like normal. The only thing the mod does is add fogs with the highs.
I also did the mod where the cargo lights on the 3rd brake light come on with reverse just to get a little extra light while backing up without installing anything aftermarket and it works good enough. I haven't had any problems with the electrical system. The diodes just act as a one way valve so it's safe from how I look at it. I've also read that people just use a wire for the cargo light mod so their reverse lights also come on when you turn on the cargo lights which I may change out the diode with a wire one day.
