    How much are you spending on the Denali interior? It sounds like a fun project if cost isn't an issue. You may be better off installing Katzkins on your current seats and researching the threads here on installing a centre console. The end result will be similar but guaranteed to be straightforward and probably less frustrating. The switch to a centre console is a popular modification but there are those of us who still prefer the option of carrying an additional passenger!

    I don't have an answer for your question but have an idea to add to the mix. Several years ago I had the space and need for a garage type structure. I looked at several prefab or temporary type enclosures. My wife was working in the trades department of our local college and shared our concerns in water-cooler style chat. Days later we had a crew of student carpenters under the direction of a master builder construct a solid permanent structure for the cost of materials and a donation.

    Your portable jump start accessory idea will significantly (and affordably) increase your comfort level when off the beaten path. When I worked in remote communities I learned to take every precaution to prevent me from being stranded. However, you can never prepare for every scenario and sometime blankets and snack bars are your only recourse! Good luck and congratulations on your promotion!

    Yes, I believe this would be the case. When I upgraded my trailer to the two battery option, I was surprised to see they put two 6V batteries in series!

    I think if you have a 24V truck, your batteries are wired incorrectly! (unless we're not talking about your usual truck)

    One consideration to add to the mix is I believe these trucks have battery protection software that alerts you and/or ensures you have enough starting power. I haven't reached these limits with my truck and could be wrong but I frequently run my electrics with the engine off while most would keep idling.

    Battery technology has improved significantly over the years. This combined with the efficiency of LED lighting and current electronics would render a second battery overkill, imo. Most of your use will be when the engine is running. I would carry portable lanterns for those times your truck is needed as a flashlight. I have dual batteries on my trailer and regret spending the extra money on this option.

    I doubt that there is much variety in the gauge of steel used in the roof panels of recent gm models. As sams819 suggests the use of bent metal is the key. I grew up spending a lot of time in my father's sheet metal shop. It is remarkable what strong structures can be fabricated from thin sheets of steel!

    This tire size is very close to stock and I suspect the rubbing is a result of the level. I wonder if switching to a smaller level kit would eliminate the rubbing? A 1" or 1.5" level kit may provide the look you want and be gentler on your truck.

    My dealer has/had several year-end trucks in this colour. I don't know if the popularity resulted in high numbers or if this colour wasn't a great seller. I like the look. (Anything that comes on to the lot is silver disappears quickly!)

    I think you are correct. It may be a simple fix and worthwhile to have your local dealership diagnose the cause. The heated seats on my '15 are used heavily and work well.

    Nice! I hope you have added air-bags, a transmission cooler and LT tires to your truck!

    I've never noticed this and I do a considerable amount of highway driving. Maybe it is something like the DIC warning you when you're running low on fuel. Perhaps it is a difference in our driving styles but, just in case, I'd ask at my local service department. I would not be messing with a potentially sticking gas pedal or would I use a wedge to "improve" response. You may believe you know what to do when a throttle sticks at a high rate of speed or in a panic situation but not everyone driving your truck may be as prepared.

    Great idea. Backup camera kits often come on sale for less than $100 at my local auto store and I often wondered if these would work well as a front camera. They don't advertise these products as having the option of being used up front but I don't see why not. Of course they wont be integrated with your dash display but an additional small screen dedicated to this purpose would look fine when considering the money saved!

    I'm not sure if this comment was intended to support or contradict my earlier comment. Doctors, lawyers and big corporations are examples where leasing can actually be financially advantageous. Individuals may also find leasing preferable for personal or budgeting purposes. My point was that I would not lease as a way to drive a vehicle I couldn't otherwise afford. No crap.

    Leasing can be the right choice for a variety of reasons. The least valid reason, imo, is because you couldn't otherwise afford the payments or to buy outright. I would be more proud owning a '14 WT than leasing a '18 HC.

    I'm sure you will be proud of your truck when completed. The suggestion I'd make is to return the the dash pad above the instrument cluster back to stock. The reflection in the windshield under different conditions will prove to be very annoying.

    Your trailer will have its own brakes. Set your brake controller properly and all will be well!

    Go to your local gm dealer and ask them to install an aftermarket controller. They stock gm endorsed controllers and install them on a frequent basis.

    You will not be short of power. You are right in doing the math for payload etc. but you will have more than ample horsepower!

    Your '14 is the same as an '18. Only a person familiar with GM trucks will be able to tell the difference. I would love to find an exact duplicate to my '15 except with the optional max tow (NHT) package. For a similar price I would prefer a '19 but not for the current pricing difference.

    You are well within your maximum limits. Proper loading, proper hitch and common sense are required. The weight class of trailer you are looking at is targeted to 1/2 ton truck owners. If you've never towed a TT your first experience may be a little intimidating. Your truck will be working (like it's designed to do) but after a couple of short trips you'll be having to remind yourself that you are pulling a trailer!
