    My truck is very similar to yours and it is not lacking in power. If it isn't going fast enough, I press further down on the right pedal. I pull a smaller travel trailer with my V6 and am impressed with the minimal impact it has has on acceleration and highway cruising speed. The power of these engines is similar or greater than larger V8's of the past. I do understand the enjoyment many people find with a larger engine but the 4.3 can earn you a speeding ticket just as easily. Enjoy your new truck!

    I have sympathy to the unavoidably homeless but if this incident was done by a homeless person then his/her home should be a jail cell. An individual with the skill to stalk campers and execute a robbery like this is definitely capable of working.

    He could sit in the jump seat... ;-) We get pretty spoiled with crew cabs. My Chihuahua/Pomeranian X owns the back seat of my CC. I think she'd object to sharing the front seat with Mrs. and me.

    I'm glad you solved the problem and reported back. My experience is that we all have a tendency to look for the more complicated causes and solutions to our problems whether they be related to equipment or ourselves. Rule out the simple stuff first is my way of attacking an issue.

    Yes, camping takes on a whole new meaning with these trailers! We're heading to your province in a couple of weeks and have been looking at Blackstrap and/or Pike Lake.

    Funny, I'm the same way. However, I miss the camera when I'm driving a vehicle without one! If I had a choice, I'd prefer a front bumper view camera over a rear view. Backing into a space I can pinpoint exactly when I'm at the point of contact. Nose first is not nearly as precise!

    Very impressive! My trailer pictured above is 3900 lbs dry. I am very pleased with how well my 4.3 pulls and your combination demonstrates that I have power to spare!

    Looks great! You're pulling this with a 4.3? If so, what is the weight of your trailer?

    Nothing grabs my attention like a lifted 4x4 but lifting a 2wd does not fit this model of truck, imo. I have owned mostly 2wd pickups and they call for a look of their own. They look fabulous lowered, stock or leveled. Definitely make the truck as you wish but I recommend continuing to research how to spend your modification dollar.

    A lot of video for not a whole lot of new information... I am confident the next few years of trucks are already planned and the release of information is a marketing strategy. There are certain trim levels they want hitting the streets first. They want the 'sure to sell quickly' rolling advertisements on the streets asap. GM has still to release information on new power options which will likely reflect greater attention to growing demands for efficiency and reduced environmental impact.

    The first thing that came to my mind was a faulty ground. It sounds to me you have already gone above and beyond the steps needed for a DIY solution. Go to a gm service facility that you trust and get it checked out. You may be missing something simple and obvious to someone else who is able to physically see your vehicle. A good example of my advice recently applied to me personally. Last week I was out in my brand new Winnebago TT and I could not get the park's cable to work for my TV. I asked for help on a Winnebago forum and traced all of the wiring. I even phoned an RV service department. Two days later I explained my problem to the park owner who was very knowledgeable on the topic. The first words out of his mouth were, "you need a cable box." This sounds obvious now, but it was totally out of my realm of consideration that you'd need a home-style cable box at an RV hookup! Nobody on my RV forum or at the RV dealership even hinted at a cable box!

    I've had this combination on a couple of 100+ mile excursions now. This is a smooth pull for my V6. MPG are much better cruising at 60 mph than 70!

    Welcome to this forum and thank you for your contribution. My truck came with a rear slider but I'd probably be installing an aftermarket if it didn't. It is one of those features that is useful but not high on my my priority list when selecting a truck. I always assumed an aftermarket installation would be pretty straight forward. I don't understand why someone may believe there would be some programming required.

    We all realize that they are probably several years ahead in their planning and I like trying to guess their strategies. I believe we're looking at a major change in power delivery in the near future. Introducing new engines with a complete body redesign is too much of a change for the pickup truck buying public. Climbing into a 2019 with familiar interior features powered by an engine with some history makes a major transition easier. Once we adapt to the new technologies such as variable cylinder activation our focus on how we measure performance may change.

    There are so many ways to eliminate this squat so I imagine this isn't a regular towing situation for your buddy. If it is, tell your buddy to join this forum and learn how to fix his truck!

    I like the new GM's but I'm glad there are other brands to choose from for customers like yourself who are unhappy with the upgrades. (I'm sure you would have been even more outraged when GM removed the triangle vent windows and used this location to mount "FUGLY" mirrors.) It is fine to prefer one brand over another but there are reasons behind any changes or upgrades.

    My '15 does not appear to have any type of coating that could peel off and no signs of unusual amounts of rust. Other than the obvious appearance issues, has anyone experienced any functional issues related to rust on a newer vehicle? Many years ago I had a '76 GMC 3/4 ton and my mechanic once showed me my floor mats from underneath the truck while up on a hoist. I put a few pieces of plywood under the mats and kept on trucking!

    ^^ Hitch equipment like this is costly! I just paid $1K for my new travel trailer Blue Ox setup. What do you tow and or pull with your new hitch and hook?

    Also, you should ask at your local GM dealership for a build sheet for your truck. You may also ask for a list of RPO codes if they aren't listed in your glove box. These will tell you all the specific features of your new truck!

    You can find earlier threads complaining about the 6 spd. and then the 8 spd became the target. Complaints are usually legit to the particular owners'vehicle, but issues become highly concentrated on a forum. You will find many will speak highly of their transmission choice in threads that aren't focused on a transmission problem. Enjoy your truck and this forum. Most GM truck owners are very proud of and happy with their vehicles. I know I am.

    I agree but I get why they don't. I had an aftermarket installed several months ago while my truck was in for service. We are pretty sure we are going to buy a travel trailer this spring. If we do buy one, it will be the first time I've needed a brake controller since 1989. I am guessing there is a lot of people who have factory brake controllers that are never used. Many like me have pulled a lot of cargo or boat trailers but they either don't require brakes or use a surge control.

    Nothing to be embarrassed about if it is out of your control but this comment reminded me of the struggles many had with a manual transmission. A rough, jerky ride was usually a reflection of driving skill and a potential cause for embarrassment!
