I also keep a charger available that uses the 12v plug. This will allow me to charge when the truck is off and you can buy one with a higher amp rating. I seldom leave the house without a fully charged phone so I don't need to fuss with the phone when driving. Law enforcement here is pretty strict with the use/placement of phones and I keep my phone out of sight to avoid any issues.

Welcome to this forum! Sorry to hear about your issue and thank goodness for warranties. I think the "4 out of 5" trucks story was misheard/misunderstood. Perhaps 4 out of 5 trucks that have a transmission problem, are having this or a similar issue. Enjoy your new truck once this hiccup is history. The '20 2500/3500's are currently the nicest trucks on the road, imo!

My first thought is the phone is the problem, not the truck. Even if your phone is new, don't rule out the battery.

"Be careful what you ask for." The factory antenna creates a potential for leaks. I have experienced this problem twice with my current truck. A magnetic antenna sounds pretty good, imo!

Your stock 5.3 will comfortably tow your maximum towing limit. Swapping engines will potentially increase your fun factor but may be disappointing, imo, if you are hoping to increase towing abilities. Keep us posted on your progress!

I agree that black wheels would detract from the current look. Tinted lights wouldn't enhance the look or function of your truck either, imo. Nothing wrong with doing these mods but as Crazykid38 suggests, they are no longer special. I would consider adding sidesteps to your truck if you are anxious to make a change. I appreciate that you may not like the look but they will be welcomed by your younger, older or physically challenged passengers. There are many different styles, including retractable, that will enhance the functional appeal of your truck.

If the dealer can not replicate the problem then offer to demonstrate. If you and the dealer are unable to make it "act up" then at least it will be on record. In the past I've had service advisors report that they were unable to replicate a problem but I can't ever recall being ignored on the second visit for the same issue!

It looks like you've put a lot of love into this truck! Are you thinking new truck or changing the look of this one?

2019 + rattles = B2B. ? My '15 continues to be rattle and vibration free after four years of daily driving. I wouldn't expect or accept anything less. If you own a '19 and something rattles, there is a flaw somewhere and you need to take advantage of your warranty coverage. DIY repairs on a vehicle under full bumper to bumper coverage takes away one of the major advantages of purchasing a new vehicle, imo!

They repaired the existing engine. I believe you will find several members on this forum had oil consumption issues with their '07 - '13 Silverado/Sierras. My argument is that it is not normal anymore to have to top off your oil between regular oil changes. Decades ago you would find bulk engine oil next to just about every gas pump. It wasn't unusual to ask the attendant to, "fill 'er up and check the oil". You'd feel terrific if they said, you're good for now. Until my '09, I could not remember topping off the oil in my daily driver for the previous 20+ years. After this repair in 2011, I have not needed to add oil to any vehicle. The experience for me was prolonged, frustrating and time consuming. I kept good records of mileage and amount of oil. I had a local quick lube shop top off my oil and their receipt would state the mileage and measured amount of oil. It is impossible to find any objective mechanic who will tell you that adding two quarts of oil between oil changes is normal for a modern stock engine. Your Service Advisor is doing his/her job so be polite but persistent.

It's not normal. My '09 went through a lot of oil during the first 50K miles. GM finally fixed it after I jumped through a lot of hoops. I kept the same truck for another 100K without any further issues. My current truck ('15 Sierra) is like Grumpy Bear's! Be persistent. Tip: If your dealer changes your oil, check that they don't fill above the full line. This will mess up your consumption test.

Yes, I believe all of the Ecotec 4.3 V6's come FF compatible. I would not run E85 on a non FF designated engine. I am sure there are significant differences to accommodate E85 and using unapproved fuel will most certainly void powertrain warranties.

Nice looking tire. I see they are Continental but can't make out which version. Are they dedicated winter or all season?

Your truck will have no difficulty with the travel trailer you describe. (even if it had a slide! ? ) Your gas mileage will improve if you slow down. I pull a 7K trailer with my '15 V6 and the mpg difference between 60 & 70 mph is substantial.

The V6 in the WT is probably FF compatible. I know there must be more to a vehicle designated as FF than a sticker. I'd be inclined to want to know the difference before running E85 in a non-flex fuel vehicle.

I believe the chances of vehicles exceeding 100k trouble free miles with regular maintenance has improved steadily over the past several decades. "They don't build them like they use to" is not always negative.?

Welcome to this forum! If you can get them for a good price and you're replacing a basic stock wheel, this could be a nice upgrade. Changing your wheels/tires can give you a "new to you" feeling at a fraction of the cost of buying a new truck!

I still find the key fob a frill! Remote access and start are convenient but I wouldn't pay a monthly fee to have this feature. The grand prize for any business appears to get us attached to a monthly payment. "What's a measly $10 a month?" Add up all of your non-essential monthly obligations and you may find they add up to a sizeable chunk of your take-home pay. You may not need this money now, but chances are high that you will wish you had it later!

Welcome to the forum! You will find good ideas from other proud GM owners! Definitely take your truck to the dealer. Things happen and you have a warranty to protect you from such problems. The sooner the better because no one appreciates oil dripping on their driveway!

I will let my truck run low on fuel when travelling to save stopping. However, I rarely will park overnight at home or on the road with less than 1/2 a tank. It is part of my emergency preparedness.

Some will not want or be able to take /keep employment for reasons beyond job availability or the economy. This has not changed. How are thieves getting your fuel? I thought syphoning gas was too difficult now and thieves were cutting lines. I have a friend who leaves her car unlocked at night as she was tired of thieves damaging her car while looking for loose change. Maybe leaving your gas filler unlocked prevents more costly damage!

Auto and home manufacturers make reasonable efforts to build in such a manner as prevent intrusion from rodents and or water. They're constantly finding ways to improve in efficiency, safety and function. I don't see where anyone has been shut down with respect to your concerns and I wouldn't be surprised if we hear from an owner of an '18 or '19 who had to deal with a unwanted rodent intruder. Best to continue to make efforts to avoid such encounters.

I've also faced the mouse and rat issue in my homes and vehicles in the past. Most recently I've faced this issue with visitors enjoying the warmth of my engine area. I definitely don't expect GM to assume any responsibility for my mouse problem nor do I believe this leads to any lack of accountability for other design/engineering problems. It's a nasty problem to have and hopefully you'll find a solution soon. I found that parking in a different area has rendered my truck as a less desirable destination. As suggested earlier, I also strive to keep any attractants out of my vehicle. It seems once they discover a secluded resort, they keep coming back!

Another member, Enduro Guy, was simply giving you an opinion. It is sometimes good to give our plans a second thought. There are many discussions on this forum regarding these shark fins and a popular mod is to paint the existing fin. Some do this while the fin is in place. Most of the mods I do are for my own visual or functional benefit and I'm not arguing with the idea. However, sometimes the changes required to make an idea work negate the value of the mod, imo!
