  1. Today, I bought a bolt and nut to repair this issue. Will post pics when I'm done with the repair, tomorrow.
  2. Had a similar situation with my wife's '10 Mustang. Replaced all of the pads with cheap ones from NAPA Auto, in June '13. Replaced all of the pads (AGAIN, with Duralast) and the front rotors, the following Labor Day Weekend. Ran into the guy that bought it from the Honda dealership, that we traded her in at, and from what he told me (and what I could see), he's still running with the same pads, that I put on her in September '13.
  3. Sounds like something to share in the "$50 and under modifications" thread.
  4. I was thinking about something along this line, the other night on my way home from work, and I'm looking at getting a couple of the "pen-head" LED lights, like what some of the guys have used to light up the step pockets in their back bumpers, tied in before the flasher relay of the turn signals. After reading some of the posts, I may even rig a separate switch to have them both on, and taking power from the high-beams (maybe).
  5. Nathan, I'm a LOT like you, every little rattle, crinkle, etc, bugs the hell out of me, not only when I'm driving, but even when I'm a passenger (even in someone else's vehicle). On the "we'll look back at this and laugh" side, I was rolling with some of the solutions. Glad it all worked out though.
  6. You were thinking of: In 1964, "Red Asphalt" In 1978, "Red Asphalt II" In 1989, "Red Asphalt III" In 1998, "Red Asphalt IV" In 2006, "Red Asphalt V" BTW, they are all on YouTube. There were several other films out there, like "Blood on the Windshield," "Death on the Highway," and "Highways of Agony."
  7. Yesterday, my son and I washed my truck, since it was 70ºF, sunny, and clear out. Got done around sundown, so no pictures, yet. Hit 46864mi as we were coming back off of Edwards (before the wash), from lunch and working with a friend's dogs (since they are on vacation), almost took a picture of it in front of NB-52 0008 ("Balls 8," NASA). OF COURSE, now the wind is blowing, so I expect it to be dusty/dirty again.

  9. Been debating on getting one of these. How dry does the bed stay?
  10. I was backing into my driveway, earlier this morning (O-Dark hundred), when I got home from work, and noticed that the high mount brake lights were shining through the roof liner, in the cab. Yeah, it gets really dark around here.
  11. Is there any way to do this with the backup camera?

  13. My wife's CR-V (and our Pilot, before that) has a separate dimmer, on it, so it's apparently up to the manufacturer. Personally, I wish that all of the dash and NAV screen lights would dim down about another 15-25%.
  14. Been thinking about that, dash cam (motion sensitive), or camera system on my driveway/house. I have a "driveway doorbell" from Harbor Freight, in my garage, been thinking about putting that up, too.
  15. Looks good. If they are anything like the ones in CA, it's a simple "Fix-It Ticket." In CA, the front windows can only be up to a certain percentage, think it's around 35%. AND, only the top 4" of the windshield can be tinted, but I have seen a lot of vehicles driving around with tint down to the bottom of the mirror mount (which is how I'd like to do mine). I may darken up my back one a little more, not sure at this point.
  16. YIKES!!! Last week, I was using the hell out of my heated sweater (mid-30s to mid-40s), with wearing a sweatshirt on my way to work (mid-60s). This week, I haven't used my heated sweater, yet. 70+ coming into work, and mid to upper 40s on the way home. Although, Thursday, LAST WEEK, we had high winds and it was in the 30s, when we went home. Had my heated sweater on high, I was nice and toasty, until I cleared the hangar door. Wind blew ALL of the heat out of my sweater, even with my gortex jacket on, over top of my sweater. Touching another man's truck without permission should be punishable by death.
  17. Next time it does it, fold them and then unfold them. You may have someone messing with it/them, like mine.
  18. Not quite the same, but mine's been doing it year-round, so temperature is not the issue. It's been only doing it in my driveway, that's why I'm thinking that someone is messing with it.
  19. JUST AN OBSERVATION............. SO, I have found that, occasionally, my driver side mirror will not unfold, when I unlock my truck, but the passenger side will. Not sure why this happens at least once a week. After several attempts to "unlock/unfold," I have discovered that after the first attempt to unfold, it is better fold the mirrors back in, and unfold them again. I'm not sure if some lug-nut, out there, keeps coming by my truck, once a week, and tries to manually unfold my mirror.
  20. Did something similar to this with my dad's '86 Celebrity, oil filter sat over the frame that would hold 1/4 of the oil, no drain hole on it.
  21. Mine has done that a few times, mostly during the summer months, chalked it up to the heat. My horn would go off, in alarm mode, but no one was around it. I would go to remote start it, no go. Had the same message displayed, but was able to clear it, before rolling down the driveway.
  22. My CB antenna is mounted on the right side bedrail, and has a high (2+) SWR. I'm thinking it's because of the mount isn't ground to the vehicle very well, doesn't have a good ground plane, and I'm looking at going dual antenna to hopefully lower my SWR, even more than grounding my mount. I'm trying to find a good ground on the right side of the bed, have you found one, other than the filler tube on the left side?
  23. As of Friday, as I was heading to work........
  24. I use a 2x12, with all four corners cut at 45º angles (2.5" from the corners). Been toying with the idea of a, 4" tall x 8" wide, bowtie cutout in the middle of it. Now, I just may follow through with it. Hope you win. It's crap like this and people like that, as to why I want to get a dash cam on my truck. Morons pass me, and come back into my lane, triggering the yellow icon (distance to the vehicle in front of me) on my dash.
  25. Forget where I saw it, but, SUPPOSEDLY, you can do the same thing with these trucks. Believe the wording said that you had to push the pedal down two clicks. My Ridgeline was one to two, beyond that, the brakes would "rub."
