They fall into the category of "Special Interest and Personalized Plates." Either way, there is an initial fee (Legacy - $50), and an annual fee (Legacy - $40, which is less than the initial fee). Just looked at the cost difference, Veteran Plates are initially $78, and annual $40. I think that that is a deciding factor. When I went overseas, I had Vet plates on my '99 Grand Am, I may even place them on my truck, NO RETAINMENT FEES for Vet plates (EGLKPR). I was a F-15 "Eagle" Crew Chief (mechanic). I think that I may only have to pay the $40 annual fee and file the paperwork to attach the plates from there.

I'm leaning towards the CA Classic Black plates for mine, but I have Personalized Veteran tags from the first time I was out here. I may have to pay some back fees for the Vet tags, since I haven't paid the "retain fees," since I left and went overseas.

Washed my wife's CR-V, before she went to work, and my Silverado. Used Dollar General's "Wheel/Tire Cleaner," when it dried, the looked like I had just gone out and played in the dirt.

I did the mod for the cargo lights to come on with the reverse lights. Love it. Cargo light switch illuminates when the truck is in reverse. Of those that have done the mod the other direction (reverse lights on with cargo light switch), what all have you noticed about turning on the cargo lights? Does the backup camera come online? Engine running or not? Or any other quirks that you've noticed since the mod?

Last week, I tried to add a diode to get my puddle lights on with my interiors, Pin 1 -> Pin 8 on the grey plug on BCM. Closed the doors, locked it, watched the interiors dim out, and the puddles stayed on. Asked around, did some digging, and everything/everyone said it should have worked perfectly. SO, today, I tried it again...... WORKED AS ADVERTISED!!!!!!!

Let me correct my last, it has been on my list since about the first of the year. But yeah, definitely will, hopefully, before I go to San Diego next month. I have to GET OUT OF THIS DESERT and get one last beach trip in before it starts getting cold again.

Couldn't quite see what you were referring to, until I got to work last night and looked at a coworker's. Had to see it in reference to the whole truck. Good call.

I've seen others complain about it, but had never experienced it, until last week. But mine almost feels like the tranny is slipping slamming into 2nd gear. What size block did you use? Got other photos, so we can see what you did and where?

Finally had the chance to sit down and post. I originally deleted (removed/capped) my AM/FM antenna about a month of so after I had bought my truck. Yesterday, I had to go to ACE Hardware and get new supplies to "relocate" my AM/FM antenna. I grabbed some hardware Saturday on my way home from work, the bolt (1/4-28) worked but the nut, that fit the bolt, did not work. Grabbed "7mm fine thread bolt and nut, and new eyelets for the cable. My son came out to see what I was doing. Had him grab the antenna post/stud (while holding the antenna up over his head), and the radio started picking up the station that it was set to, he had that "how in the world" look on his face. Took the cable with both new eyelets on it and touched the post, kind of picked up the station, then touched the end of the antenna to the cable, had connectivity and clear signal, so I attached the one eyelet with the bolt, still great signal. Placed the antenna under the fender, zip-tied it, routed the cable out of the way of the hinge, placed the eyelet on the post, went to grab the nut off the front cover, and MURPHY decided to show up, down under the cowl, behind the headlight and never made it to the ground. Searched for that stupid thing for a little short of a hour, figured it got caught somewhere, so I drove around the block (rough road), looked in the truck and walked around the block, still nothing. So, today, after work, while I'm out looking for a new microwave (to make "the boss" happy), I'll have to go get another 7mm fine thread nut ($0.25). The good thing is, I can install it without opening the hood and right there in the parking lot.

Nothing for our trucks. We make the hour drive out that way from time to time.

Thanks!!! My wife and kids saw this, as I was looking at the recent updates, and want me to do the Superman on my Silverado. So much for trying to "midnight edition" mod mine.

I had already added LED lighting under the hood to my mod list, but now I get to add the on/off switch too. Where did you get yours? How much? Does the hood "bounce" (when you close it) screw the switch, rail, or hood up any? Was the switch a bit of a pain to dial-in/rig?
