Right now, mine is only removed, but I'm going to put mine under the hood and install at least one hidden antenna.

The first time I attempted to do this mod, my fogs would blink/flash while my HIs were on. The lead on the diode will almost be all the way in the "socket." I had to try all four corners of both sockets to find the one that worked best. Did the same process for when I mod'd my cargo lights to my reverse lights.

I did my antenna mod about a year ago, didn't use glue, it's still in place. Most of my driving is highway, to/from work, and I always park into the wind. We get 30MPH+ winds, regularly, around here. Last week, the winds are over 60MPH. The winds are headwinds on my way home.

3/4", got mine at Lowe's, 2-pack, for a couple dollars.

AND, do your wheels or tires rub on the A-arms or anything else, when you turn the wheels to their extremes?

Had one locally, here too, that closed without notice. Went to the next town over, CLOSED. I ended up having to drive all the way down to Palmdale. OH CRAP!!! I just remembered, the one in Tehachapi is still open, should have went there.

That's in your truck's "Vehicle Settings," "Lighting," "Exit Lights." I found that out too, the other day, trying to get my puddle lights to work.

Bought a pair of them at Radio Shack for a few dollars.

Define "don't stay on long enough." Cargo light system is designed to turn off when you put the truck into gear, whether it be R or D. May even only operate in P. With the mode, the lights will only come on in R (with diode facing the right direction), or (if wire mode or diode in "backwards") as long as the truck is in P or N.

Thanks for responding to his question. Yeah, like I said, was a little surprised. Went to dinner with my son last night, he noticed it and started to freak out about it.

Mod #3 - So, this morning, I noticed that when I put my truck into reverse, the indicator on my cargo light switch lights up. Mod #5 - I'm looking into buying a new tow hitch light and redoing this mod. Going to splice both wires together, and cut the brown wire just above the splice and at the 4-pin plug. Will cause both halves of the light bulb to light up when the brake is applied.

Never read anything, heard anything, nor noticed since doing this mod, that when you put your truck into reverse, the cargo light indicator lights up.

Interesting thread!! I'm going to be trading my weak-ass lows for LEDs, but I also want to "upgrade" my highs to ones that "will burn the eyeballs out of skulls from beyond the horizon." Any suggestions?

Started #9 this morning when I got home from work, actual cut length is 64.5", with 2.5" 45 angles. Got one side drying, while I had to go figure out what is up with my CR-V's TPMS.

This morning I started cutting a 2x12x96, for storage management in the bed. Cut it to 64.5", leaving the line, fit perfectly. Started painting it, and had to put it on hold while the one side dried and I had to go "rescue" my kids, TPMS light was on in our CR-V. Will be time to go to bed soon, working the "graveyard shift." Think I'll plug the holes in the rear wheel-wells, after I get home and before I go to bed.

Correct. I remotely started my truck this morning, as I was leaving the hangar, hitch light flashed and remained off. Don't know why I thought it stayed on.

Yesterday, I modified my tow hitch brake light to "only come on with the brakes, and not the tail lights," by removing the "brown wire." Or so I thought. Turns out, on my '15 Silverado, that the (corner) brake light come on when you lock/unlock, use your hazard lights, or remote start. I can live with those options.

My updated list of mods: Removed my AM/FM antenna whip Gives it a cleaner look and I don't really listen to AM or FM anyways. I will be installing a "hidden antenna," or two, within the next couple weeks, will need them for my scanner and if I decide to listen to FM next time I'm in a BIG city, like San Diego, again. * Set my forward-facing white lights to all be on with my high beams. ($1.98 for two diodes, used on for this mod) On the '15 Silverado, the lows stay on with the high beams, and the diode was set to turn on my fogs. * Set my rear-facing white lights to all be on with my reverse lights, with the other diode from the 2 pack mentioned above, cargo lights come on with my reverse lights. 2 & 3 both took 30-45 minutes of my time to accomplish (once I had the diodes), including operational checkouts, worth it. Mounted my CB antenna on the front right stake hole (about $40 invested in parts for my previous truck & $80 for the handheld router, that was not needed). Tow hitch brake light - modified it to only light up when the brakes are applied. $20 for the light assy ($17 on etrailer.com, Item #CR-007A) & couple of hours of research to cut the correct wire. Did this one today, need to make sure that you have the tail/brake light that has the little box on it to keep the blinkers from flashing the hitch light. Took me about 3 minutes to cut the brown wire (tail light) at both ends (at the plug and up by the bulb housing) completely remove it, and throw it away. Shortly after I bought my truck, I had to go buy a 4-wire extension, so I could plug it in, less than $10. (didn't need this on my last truck, connectors were right next to the receiver) *** Just went outside, with my son, and performed an operational check on it. Works great. *** Lock/Unlock visual indicators use all four corners, including brake lights (not the one on top of the cab. Turned on parking lights and head lights, hitch light did not light up. Pressed the brake, hitch light works. Used turn signals and hazards, hitch light did not work. Magnetic Phone holder (#5) - completed this one before Thanksgiving, found a Steelie vent mount for about $20. Only downside to this one, and having vertical vents, is during every turn and curve, the weight of the phone swings the vent toward the outside of the turn. If I turn right, the phone swings left, and vise verse. * Better phone holder – recently purchased a windshield phone holder, going to modify it to fit in the pocket left of the steering wheel and run power to it. I'm going to do this one after I get my truck washed and all of the residual dirt flushed out of the tubes. Went off-roading a few weeks back and the dirt still has not “blown out” from driving around. * Cutting a 2”x12” to fit across the bed of my truck, for cargo management. Cut to 65” and trim as necessary. 45° two adjacent corners along one long side, so it sits down against the bed of the truck. PlastiDip it black when it is trimmed to fit. Window tint across top 4-5" of windshield, down even with the lane departure camera housing. Should cost less than $30. Black bow ties, front/back/steering wheel, and contemplating blacking out the middle of the “Z”s and the “71”s. Should be done in next week or two. Philips LED reverse & cargo lights. K&N Air & Cabin Filters. Bed rail lighting - Spent about $35 for everything so far. Front Tow Hitch - found a hitch for $50 and was hoping to install it over my Christmas break from work, 9 paid days off, but we ended up traveling and seeing family during that time. One of these weekends, I'll get around to this. * - Low cost mod discovered/found after posting my plan list.

A week ago Friday, got my oil/all changed. Tuesday, got new tires on it. Friday, drove about 50 miles out on some desert dirt roads, north of Barstow, and went camping. Sunday, drove back on the same roads, down to Ontario & Montclaire, and then home. And today, I was going to rinse all of the dust/dirt off, but the brief storm that came through did it for me.

Did mine up a few weeks ago.

When you turn the fogs on, your parking and head lights all come on. I use the fog light switch/button as my "one touch" way of turning on my headlights in the "Daytime Headlight Zones."

Antenna got mounted in the forward right stakehole, cable ran down the stakehole, (going to be routed) along right longeron of truck frame, into drain plug just inboard of rt longeron, under carpet, into center console to CB. CB/scanner (both awaiting antenna routing and connection) in center console. Power is going to be routed under console up to stereo power, or some other ignition/accessories controlled power source. I'm also going to readjust my CB/scanner on the rack, closer to the driver. I have some black foam to encase around them. External speakers, maybe routed to aux-in or external speaker(s) to be mounted between headrest and seatback. Looking at going wired "hands-free" with my CB.

Set up my lights out in the SUN (62F, feeling like 85). Fogs on with HI's, and cargo on with reverse. Thanks for the photos Spurshot & PGamboa (respectively). Took me about 30 minutes on the headlights/fogs, ended up having to remove the brown plug, disconnecting my remote start connections, and my second diode. And about 10 minutes and two attempts/operational checks to get my reverse/cargo lights connected, with the first headlight diode (was salvageable). LO's before mod HI's before mod ALL FWD WHITES w/ HI's ON, after mod REVERSE/Cargo mod 2x12x96 in bed of truck on the way home after buying diodes and 2x12, with some other odds/ends.
