In my construction career I did drywall, worked as a painter, carpenter, part time electrician helper, plumber helper and HVAC for a while. Every morning I wake up and assess the body before getting out of bed, then standing is the next assessment.
I learned a lot and got paid to do it but the body is paying the price.
I serviced the transmission yesterday in our Hyundai Santa Fe, crawling around on the garage floor with the car on ramps, not a good morning.
My left shoulder is still healing from surgery, it's in the worst shape. The dexterity in my left hand and I'm left handed is almost non existent. I have trouble writing, doing buttons, starting nuts and bolts, using a ratchet or wrench. I have to rely on my right hand and that's a challenge. Doc said it could be a year for me to get normal again.
I won't bring up my back.
