The harness that comes in the jump seat should plug into the original harness under the passenger seat if the pin counts match.

2016 Silverado LT Z71 sell or keep it?
Enough replied to Darthmalo's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
I traded out of a 2018 Silverado Crew LT into a 2020 Silverado Crew LT because the 2018 had recurring electrical issues starting at 243 miles when it got towed in the first time. The last time it got towed in was just that for me. It turned out to be the ECM but I had lost faith in the truck. 5.3, 6 speed, 3.42 rear end on the 2018. 5.3, 8 speed, 3.23 on the 2020. The 2018 had the trans flush early on and that ended the tranny problems. The 2020 8 speed is flawless at 11,500 miles. In the 2018 I had swapped in the center console, DL3 mirrors, and wireless charging with harnesses from HarnessDr.com. I miss the power fold mirrors with turn signals and puddle lights and the console. I hope to find a console for the 2020 and make will make that swap when I find one. Mirrors are going to be a challenge. The 2018 had better seats, idled at 500 RPM's smooth as a sewing machine, and pulled better from idle with the lower gears. I had some health issues that took precedence at the time I traded and inventory was as bad then as it is now so I didn't have much time or choice to make the decision to trade. The 2018 would have been my last new truck if I had any faith in it being repaired for good. I miss the upgrades I did to it, the seat comfort, and the idle. Hopefully the 2020 will be the last new truck I buy and maybe the electrical gremlins stay away since it has so many more gadgets. I've gotten up to 24.4 MPG in the 2020 and just about have the seat dialed in. I like the new body style especially after de-badging it. The fenders look soooo much better without those big blocky letters on them ! The HD rear camera with trailer assist is leaps and bounds better than the camera in the 2018. It doesn't blind me in the cab at night and the extra back-up lights I added don't wash it out. Homelink is nice for the garage door opener. The crazy trade in offers have also caught my eye, even on my 2020 the offers are crazy since there is so little inventory. If I had to make the choice between a reliable K platform and trading to a T platform knowing what I know now, It would be a damn hard choice, but I am pretty sure I would go with the K platform. -
No problem swapping the console into a 2016 RCSB Work Truck or a 2018 CCSB LT. I've done both and all functions including Apple Car Play function if your truck has Car Play from the factory. I swapped the jump seat out for the console on both of them. Buy the custom adaptor harness from HarnessDr.com and have at it. The owner of HarnessDr.com will walk you through any issues you might have. The OE connections come out of the dash and out from under the passenger seat. I put the console in the 2016 RCSB and then put the same console in the 2018 CCSB LT when I traded the 2016 in. All functions worked in both trucks. I even used the same adapter cable from HarnessDr.com for both trucks. The console fits 1500 and 2500 as do the seats.

Terrible color choice ! People notice it for sure ! 5.3 with an 8 speed getting a steady 22.9-23.2 MPG commuting 58 miles round trip every day. Stop and go combined with interstate at 75 MPH.

2021 Silverado gasoline smell

Finger crossed that you found your leak. Old Jeep gas can are just like Jeeps. They mark their territory. -
That Truck was AMAZING, but...

You've answered your own question. You can source a rear seat without the storage compartments from an auto dismantler and swap them out if that is your only concern. You may have to get creative with matching the seat covers. I would take a ride in the back seat of a truck without the storage compartments first just to make sure. Some might think it crazy but there are plenty of folks that drop 3-4 grand on tires, wheels, and suspension after purchasing a brand new truck. Interior comfort would be higher on my list. -
I went another route since I didn't want to take a chance cutting and splicing wires. I bought Curt Industries T-connector 56584 and flat wire extension 58531. The T-connector t's into the big bumper wiring harness behind the bumper and the extension plugs into the T-connector. I then connected my aftermarket reverse lights to the extension. This way nothing in the truck's original wiring is altered. This setup also gives me the option to connect other running lights or turn signals using the remaining wires on the extension with no worry about the trucks original wiring. https://www.curtmfg.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=+56584+Trailer+Wiring+Harness https://www.curtmfg.com/part/58531 I bought some cheap Nilight lights from Walmart in case this idea didn't work so I've got less than $75.00 in this setup. The lights are plenty bright but don't wash out the camera at night.

Best Time of Year to Buy GM/Chev
Enough replied to NorthernX31's topic in 2019-2026 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
Thank you Sir ! Cancer mostly surgically removed, then 39 doses of radiation. 6 weeks post radiation numbers look good. 3 month post radiation numbers will let us know for sure. 99.9% sure we caught it in time. Found the truck in the color that I really wanted when I bought the last truck but talked myself out of last time. Quickly got numbers where I was comfortable and pulled the trigger before overthinking the decision again. -

Local dealer got (4) 1500's and (1) 2500 in yesterday. Doubled their inventory of both models with that shipment. Pickings are slim and so are discounts. What do you want, how long are you willing to wait to get it, and how much is your time worth ? Some people enjoy the buying "experience". I for one don't. I do my research, call my salesman friend of 35 years, tell him what I am looking for and what I am willing to spend. I have gone so far as to locate vehicles for us to price out. With this last one I was in and out of the dealership in less than an hour. The only thing this truck does not have that I wanted is a full center console. In the next year or so I'll find one and install it. Get a little older, get a cancer diagnosis, then think again what time is really worth. I'll be damned if I am going to waste time haggling over a couple of thousand dollars. -
One purpose of moving the mirrors from the old position in front of the glass down to the door shell was to eliminate this noise. Seems like it is airflow through the gap in the mirror pivot that is making the noise no mater where the mirror is mounted. Try putting a piece of tape over the front of the gap and see if the noise disappears. So much for that engineering marvel that moved the blind spot created by the mirror to a different location, but did not cure the root cause of the problem. Mine is noticeable on the drivers side, but not so bad that I have worried about a permanent solution.

What Have You Done With Your T1 Today ?????
Enough replied to Sierra Dan's topic in Modifications, Wheels & Tires
If the piano is an upright make sure he has a stout furniture dolly. There are permanent handles mounted on each end of the piano inside the rear framework at just the right height. Grab these and under the keyboard shelf and lift onto the dolly. Strap and roll up a ramp onto a trailer. Easy peasy ! I learned this moving my wife's piano after we got married. I was surprised how easy it was. Hat's off to you for being a good neighbor -
How to Increase Hauling Capabilities

Keep it and buy a 2500 to tow with ???? Nothing more valuable than my family. No way I push the limits on towing with them in the truck. -

I guess it's all about your relationship with the dealer. This 2020 was the 4th truck I bought from a guy I've known for 35 years. Called and told him what is was looking for, poked around on the internet, and in a couple of hours he called back with some numbers. I had a Satin Steel Grey picked out and headed my way until the red one popped up. Quick swap no issues. Once the truck got in I looked it over and paper work was done in less than an hour. Do Vroom, Carvana or the like have the ability to service or warranty your vehicle ? I want a relationship with a dealer that treats me fairly and I feel buying from them gives me an advantage when issues crop up. It's the old school way of doing things and in the end it works a hell of a lot better. -
Mitziauto or something like that..coming from California. Look at the wiring harness. That has China written all over it. I tried some of the "inexpensive" (cheap) Silverado nameplates off of Ebay. I knew better at $24.95 for a set of 3 but said what the heck. Also cheap China knock offs. Threw them away. It wasn't worth the time to return them.

Drove to the hospital for a scheduled test and when I shut the truck off in the parking lot I got notification of an update. Then the radio didn't shut off when I opened the door. I cancelled the update until I got back home in my driveway just in case... The update took a little over 10 minutes and I have no clue what it included. I have not had any issues with the truck other than the radio staying on before I allowed the second update to complete. This is the third update since I bought the truck new.

I've had them too. That's another reason I don't want one. Different strokes for different folks. Back to the OP's original post, the black panels themselves would not scare me off if the Tangier Orange is what you want.
-
It's a hole in the sheet metal that lets sun in. We get enough of that through the windshield and windows down here. I would pay extra not to have one. GM is having issues sealing the vertical glass on the rear windshield. No way I would trust a sunroof.

The black extensions, bumper, grill, and cab spoiler I could handle. They can be painted to match. The sunroof would be the deal breaker for me.

2020 LTZ 3.0 in the shop 4x with under 12k!!!!
Enough replied to joshuapchase's topic in Troubleshooting, Warranty & Recalls
From your original post 21 days ago: "We picked the truck up on Saturday and got 10 miles from the dealership and the check engine light came back on. We returned the truck to the dealership on Monday... I’m done with the truck. It’s not reliable and in the last year it’s been unavailable for 1/12 of the time... not to mention the hassle of getting to and from the dealership. Wondering if anyone has experience with buyback or lemon law in California? Any help would be appreciated." The truck was in the shop a total of 1 of the last 12 months but now 21 days later you really like it ? They offered a buyback. Take the money and run ! -
Engine Swap: LT5 or Built and Blown 6.2

That is what I was hoping. Keep it clean and simple. Thanks, I would appreciate seeing pictures of the process/progress. -
Engine Swap: LT5 or Built and Blown 6.2
Enough replied to Descartian's topic in Engines & Drivetrain (V8, Duramax, TurboMax)
While the engine mod path is interesting I would really like to see pictures and progress on the shortening process. Lots of options for power building and lots of opinions but very few take on the kind of structural mods you are going for. My thoughts are that you are going for a "stock" look, not a bunch of modded and chopped body panels. If your guys is willing to share the process either publicly or privately please let me know. -

Please keep us updated on your dash hole cover and something to make the upper glove box usable. Like you I am tired of everything falling out when I open it. -
2020 Silverado bed rail stake covers
Enough replied to RobinChris's topic in Modifications, Wheels & Tires
This old guy uses the angled stake pockets as the hand hold they were designed for climbing in and out of the bed along with the bumper steps. No covers for me. gmarsh I moved the inner Bull Rings from my 2018 to my 2020. Great product. -
The first update downloaded in the parking lot at work. This latest one downloaded in my driveway. My truck is a 2020 LT made in Mexico. Maybe the updates are in Spanish ?
