  1. It's called piping or welting, I got it from an eBay seller hattrick15. After that it's just a press-fit into the saem between the pieces. Very simple, quick and easy.
  2. That may be the issue. They my not be enabled in the BCM. @pgamboa on that.
  3. Are your puddle lights working?
  4. I used the same grey with green stripe wire. For ground I used one underneath on the frame. It is pretty much inline with the parking brake grommet. Are you sure your lights worked in the first place?
  5. That is correct. As long as it is dark enough to trigger the light sensor
  6. @EpicLT I wish they would also.
  7. I ment to update this. I forgot I had turned the locator function on. So after turning it off, no lights come on till I open the door. Then it's only the dome, puddle, and my running board lights.
  8. If you haven't already reported it please do so. https://www.nhtsa.gov
  9. Awesome! People will go on an open forum and complain, but won't take the time report potential safety risks. I have yet to have issues with mine, but if I ever do you can bet I'll report it just as I did my vacuum pump failure. My 08 Silverado had the heated washer fluid. Never knew there was a problem till I got the first recall notice. GM eventually disabled the system, and issued owners a $100 check. I would think an in cab wire connection and window exploding would raise as much or more concern than the heated washer bottle over heating.
  10. Report it please. https://www.nhtsa.gov
  11. May be try contacting the EPA. See if they will Levy a fine against them for trying to blow smoke up your butt.
  12. Crazy how it is only the sliding back windows that seem to be affected. Many full back glass windows out there with defroster, yet not hearing any chatter about those exploding. As @Lee_lee said every one should report it https://www.nhtsa.gov
  13. Can it be re-taught if you ever change trucks?
  14. HD looks nice, but that DEF tank though.
  15. true, in the settings the rear window defrost can be set to come on automatically, or you can decide what. I have mine disabled. However even though it's disabled the rear window defroster we'll come on when you remote start it. I have now made it a point to turn this off if it's on needed after I get in the truck. Another point of thought is it's only seems to be an issue wicker sliding rear windows. No issue with full back glass and rear defroster.
  16. @Mozzer I had the Bilstein 5100's on my 2015 GMC sierra 1500. Original setup was RC 2.5 level / lift with the Ranchos. I had about 30000 miles on that set up and switched to the Bilstein's. The overall feel of the Bilstein's was a firmer more precise ride. It was a bit harsher over bumps, but settled out much quicker.I found the trade of to be well worth it. Fast forward to my current truck. 2018 GMC Sierra 1500. It has the z60 suspension package (aka black shocks) the overall ride quality is much softer. It still has some bounce, but not as bad as the Ranchos on the 15 had. I will say when I put a load on the black shocks the bounce over bumps is pretty bad. That being said I'll probably put Bilstein's on the 18, but I may just go with the 4600's.
  17. Put Betty to work today. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  18. @Sierra Dan I agree that the silver/black of the 5100's does look better, but @2kwik4u stated no desire to level, and wanted options. Hence the suggestion for the 4600. Another would be the Eibachs.
  19. Got mine here. http://www.mrtmotorsports.net/bilstein-shock-sets/bilstein-5100-complete-set/g-82675.aspx
  20. If you are just looking to replace the stock shocks I'd suggest the Bilstein 4600's. Per Bilstein they have the same valving minus any lift capability.
  21. Another of mine.
  22. Good question. I will have to see next time they come on.
  23. @Crazyjoker77 light strips are mounted to the lower rocker panels as close to the running board mounts as I could get them. They use the same 3M tape as vent shades and hood protectors have. No diod mod associated with the puddle lamps. I do have the cargo/reverse light diod mod. With locator off the which is how I have mine, the puddle lamp circuit is active, as well as the reverse lights. No headlight though.
  24. @Darmichar here are the lights I used https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JUE9OLM/ref=twister_B07BWSJ9KY?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1. I cut out the installed switch and soldered the positive and negative leads of the switch together. I ran the power lead from the lights through the parking brake grommet under the drivers side floor. Under the carpet up to the BCM and tapped the puddle lamp wire. The ground wire for the lights I just ran to a frame ground in the same area of the Pbrake grommet.
