  1. Your local GM dealership will have them available with a 100K mile warranty, I think they are new and not remans. Precision Transmission in Amarillo, Texas does good work.
  2. It's time to rebuild your TECHM. You can do this on your kitchen table for about $110 plus fluids without take the transmission out of the truck. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072C63HMY/?coliid=I1NOR87F2HVADM&colid=3MYY1OQK1UL4M&psc=1&ref_=lv_vv_lig_dp_it Sonnax has a video on how to do this and there are other videos on youtube. This guy did it plus a few more things: The P2771 has to do with an ISS or OSS error of some kind. Get a subscription to the shop manual at ALLDATADIY for access to the troubleshooting guide for all codes. Keep the fluid clean. Clean means its dead at 50k miles. This is the first sign of trouble usually and it does not necessitate a full rebuild. If you decide to replace the TECHM only, use only GM ACDelco and it will have to be programmed with a Tech-2 or equivalent. A FAST LEARN ADAPTS will have to be run anyway, your friends scan tool might be able to do all of this, ask him.
  3. The plug that you see out back plugs into an adapter and the wires to tap into are right behind it.
  4. What codes? Steering wheel angle? How are your tires wearing up front?
  5. The round 7-pin let's you power the trailer's brakes, allows you to tow more weight. Anyhow, go in behind the plug and tap into the power wire for your lights.
  6. We kidnapped a mechanic once because only the way my wife drives would replicate the problem, we didn't get out of the parking lot before it did it. Now, those Magneride shocks have to be reset electronically every so often. If you have a laptop, get an MDI2 with GDS2 software and or a subscription to ACDelco's Techline and take care of it yourself when necessary. Magneride shocks seem to last 5-7 years.
  7. Find someone with a Tech-2 so you can read the internal BCM codes and run proper tests without firing the parts cannon at it.
  8. Bill, my memory is not as good as it once was. I think I remember how to switch mine into neutral and then have to open the glove box and follow the manual because I forgot a step. I try to do it at least every couple of months to keep it exercised, that is, if I remember!
  9. The first sign of trouble in these units is usually the plastic discs, the solenoids that need rebuilding which is part of the TECHM. You can rebuild them on your kitchen table for about $110 plus fluids without taking out the transmission. Sign up for AllDataDIY and run those symptoms through the troubleshooting guide. Get a Tech-2 if you are going to keep this truck so you can work on it or at least diagnose it proper before letting someone work on it. If you are apt to have it rebuilt now, head on over to Amarillo, Texas and let the folks at Precision Transmission overhaul it for you and put in a billet torque converter from Oklahoma. https://www.youtube.com/c/PrecisionTransmission
  10. No, it does not, it can throw them after time, once tests are complete. I would be looking at fuel pressure for a no start and won't take gas.
  11. There are more differences between them than just the connectors. I would ask the guys over at the Performance Trucks forum about conversion kits or what it all entails. The 4L70 is a better transmission.
  12. Transmission pump failure. GM Remans come with a 100K warranty. This time around, change the fluid every 40K miles and put in the lower temp transmission thermostat. Change the torque converter too.
  13. Generally speaking you do not want to wade through standing water over the hubs. The vents to the differentials, transmission and transfer case are about 5-6 inches above that point on mine, check yours.
  14. Put a Battery Tender on it. A Tech-2 can run a parasitic draw test on most models.
  15. Should be able to fix all of that in the driveway with a trip or two to the local salvage yard for some cheap parts. Got any more photos?
  16. If yours were mine I'd put a Tech-2 on it and take a good look at the fuel pump for starters.
  17. I replaced mine with another factory unit. There is or was a guy on Ebay selling them refurbished. The one I put on was from a 2004 and works like a champ. I run it through its paces twice a year as preventive maintenance.
  18. The older 900 Duraburbs are quite reliable even at this age. They of course have a smaller cabin but can haul and tow everything you ask of them. A standard 2500 Suburban would be maxed out numbers wise with what you are asking of it but they can handle it, are over built for it too. I don't think those IRSs are going to be up to the task. Ever seen the payload and towing numbers of the Dodge pickups with rear coil springs? The Silverado and Sierra eats its lunch, especially the NHT package. We're in a similar situation, we'll be taking two vehicles or getting a Class A and tow one instead!
  19. I've seen no program updates on the GMT900 platform for AGM batteries. ACDelco does not recommend their AGMs for the 900s as they require a slower, steadier charge. Sure you can use them, they just won't last as long as they could have. We get plenty of life out of the regular 48PG or 48HPG batteries. I got 48 months out of my 30 month 48PS.
  20. No issues here after 167K miles and thirteen years.
  21. Crossing a stream in a swamp once, water splashed over the hood and onto the windshield! Made it to the other side no problem. Thankfully she wasn't in the deep part long enough to flood the fender and air box, came up sputtering some but still running. I was seeing dollar signs! Another time, truck fell off the top of a flooded rut onto her side, water almost came into the open passenger side windows. Powered out of that too without only my pride bruised again! LOL
  22. What part of the Sunshine State are you headed to? Work or pleasure?
  23. Used a version of these thirty years ago on our rig, never hit a deer up in the northeast or anywhere else for that matter.
  24. Poor kid knows so much that isn't so. She is not less likely to get Covid because of the gene therapy treatments. Children are practically immune to it anyway. What is true is that if she was an adult, and the gene therapy shots had not worn off and she got Covid, the symptoms would be less severe generally speaking. Merry Christmas to all here at GM-Trucks!
