  1. thanks for the information. I printed out my entire recall page and took it up to the dealer, they ordered my parts and will call to schedule when they arrive. On a weird note, as soon as I got back from the dealer I checked my mail and the letter from GM was there telling me my parts were ready. WTF.
  2. I'm guessing no not without some significant cost. The center console shifter is electronic. I'm pretty sure the column shifter is still mechanical. Unsure if any of the software will like the change either.
  3. Google the title and you'll see them. They say they don't fit on the refresh but that's only because they haven't redesigned the two brackets for each front flare. I basically bought a couple of corner brackets from home depot about the size of the ones the flares come with. Then i hammered them into the same basic shape and cut and drilled them to fit. The rears fit with no mods
  4. The common rule of thumb regarding exhaust and warranty is anything after the cats won't void the warranty, hence why most exhaust companies only make cat back exhausts or axle backs.
  5. I hate to ask the stupid question but the garage door is opened before you start the truck correct?
  6. Any tuner can disable it but your paying for credits and the tuners time, plus a tune count on the compuer.
  7. Yes there are some posts about
  8. 1/2 inch is right on that borderline of needing to get longer studs. I tried them with aftermarket wheels and didn't get enough turns to be comfortable with.
  9. Its definitely not glued to the headliner like the pre-refresh. I've been up in there with my refresh with Lane keep assist. The RST trucks that have that don't get the wiring glued to the roof. It's almost certainly due to the wiring harness shortage we had the last year and a half.
  10. Those trucks that were not specs with the dimming mirror do not have the connector and wiring to add one in the refresh. Last I checked with Gen5DIY on a harness, they still have not been able to identify part numbers and order connectors to modify a truck with the lane keep assist module to add auto dimming mirrors. outside of wiretapping a hot lead, it just can't be done yet with the shortage of pretty much every thing in the industry
  11. This, as soon as my warranty is over (if I still have the truck) I will be pulling the heads and putting non DFM lifters in. This is truly the only was to prevent it. Luckily I have one of the lucky trucks that don't have DFM activated from GM.
  12. I have had that happen as well. its weird as hell.
  13. Previous 2010s GM vehicles I have had have been notorious for mildew/mold buildup on the condenser and putting out a foul smell when you start the truck the next day if you didn't run the heater to dry it out before turning the truck off. I had to go get the dealer to activate the afterblower function to dry out the condenser after parking. These newer trucks probably do all these things partly to help dry out the condenser to prevent the smell.
  14. yes it works with hotspot but uses tons a data. if you have unlimited data then not a big deal but even so I use android auto on mine when traveling, its so much easier than worrying about hotspot and you phone heating up.
  15. that seatbelt thing is a setting you can change
  16. The is the only thing I ever use, your not going to save the filter so I will squeeze the ****** out of the gripping point and form indentations that the teeth dig into. I have yet to have a need for any other filter wrench on my 10+ vehicles I have had in the last decade.
  17. If you look at the GM accessories Trail Boss kit for non-trail boss trucks, it comes with different CV axles. Last I looked that kit was about $1200 and comes with a warranty ("The greater of either the balance of the vehicle's bumper to bumper warranty or 12 months / 12,000 miles"). Also comes with new dampeners, hardware and a taller emergency jack. I look at that as GM saying that you need CV axles for anything lift and probably UCAs for anything over the 2 inch trail boss lift.
  18. Unfortunately, all it takes is one dealer to not want to do warranty work, see an aftermarket part and put a lock on your warranty with GM. Although the law says that the dealer would have to prove that your modification caused any issues, in practically that's not how it works. If it gets too a point where you are fighting with manufacturer on warranty in court. You are going to have to prove that the part didn't cause the defect because all the dealer/manufacturer has to say in their defense is "this modification caused undue strain on an engineered part." Then you and your lawyer has educate and convince a judge they are wrong. It always helps to talk with techs and service managers are the dealer you plan to work with in the future what their thoughts are on mods that may be in the warranty grey area.
  19. That is strange. Does the knock change frequency with increase in RPMs? Side note, you may want to consider buying a cheap pair of mechanics stethoscope, it'll really help isolate sounds.
  20. Nice work man
  21. Upload to YouTube and paste the link
  22. Take this for what it is worth but I wouldn't let walmart touch my vehicle. I've witnessed first hand a tire fall off a car before leaving the lot from just hand tightened lugs and once witness a tech back up a suv into the tire rack sitting outside denting the hell out the rear fender. What you could do if you have a second vehicle is remove your wheels and tires at the house and take the set up to walmart and let them mount the tires on the wheels to avoid them being anywhere near your vehicle.
  23. I never hear any buffeting on my 22 Silverado sunroof. Been on the highway doing 80+ and still nothing.
  24. Make them test the sensors before installing
