  1. ..well these things are surrounded by controversy.. some think they may be a benefit, some don't. There is alot of info and opinions on them on the web. For me it was a cheap option to install on a brand new motor.. if it helps - great.. if not, well then it just another sugar pill. I guess I'll know for sure when I hit 100k?
  2. .. don't sweat it.. you got it right.. see mine below
  3. .. pulled off the chrome mustache on my bumper to remove the dent in the air deflector (left by some moron at work in the parking lot who used my truck as a limit stop for parking their vehicle) and reseat all the mounting clips so everything sits flush again. ? Bumpers are NOT a parking aid!
  4. .. got annual Krown rustproofing respray done today ?.. tip for anyone planning to do this.. pull blower fuse (right side panel fuse 43) until the oil is done dripping to prevent your blower fan from accidently engaging and coating all the interior windows with an oil film (auto climate control is great!). I also give all weatherstripping a good wipe down with silicon spray to keep oil free
  5. ..jeez, 3 weeks ago I was paying $1.68 per litre in northern Ontario .. or roughly CDN $6.35 per gallon .. now home and payed $1.33 per litre today or roughly CDN $5 per gallon (calculations via online calculator with currency correction)
  6. .. mounted up my winter rims.. gonna run them like that for a couple weeks & see if the chrome grows on me before I paint them black..
  7. .. picked up a set of GMC wheels for a great deal to transfer my winter tires to
  8. .. update on my rear block lift.. I put my OEM block back in the rear today and the truck is back to level vs the rake I need in the rear for towing. I had pulled the trigger on another solid 1"lift block (2.25"block) from Readylift after searching YouTube after the crappy Skyjacker block I bought initially - problem - the block has a taper cut in it which in turn knocked out my pinion angle causing vibration. My truck rides BUTTER SMOOTH with the Eibach suspension and I won't accept any driveline vibration. This is strike 2 on the lift blocks now and honestly I don't really want to roll the dice on yet another vendor with sub par blocks. I think I'll just wait until next spring and install a set of Firestone air bags for towing and leave the truck leveled.
  9. what is the correct part number for 2018 KPH Denali metric cluster?
  10. lol.. maybe I can post them in the cheese thread
  11. .. back now from nearly a month of off grid cramping.. installed a 2" block in the rear to gain my rake back for towing since leveling the front
  12. 75% of my daily driving is 110-130kph (or around 70-80 mph).. to date I've put around 4000 km on truck since installing the struts
  13. .. sitting on top of Sleeping Giant above Lake Superior
  14. .. exploring some remote forestry roads in northern Ontario
  15. ..a little off grid camping night shot on the northern shores of Lake Superior.. the Timbrens I installed in the rear work like a champ?
  16. .. just for anyone concerned about mileage impact from leveling with oem tires..I have put around 500km since level with zero negative impact to my fuel mileage.
  17. .. the 1.25" rear lift kit I ordered for the truck came today.. went with a company that I thought had a rep for quality - Skyjacker - only to be disappointed when the lift block kit arrived to find a short block that they wanted to be stacked underneath the oem block.. what a load of garbage!.. seems I just wasted my money with this company.. not looking to spit a block and ruin my truck.. especially when towing. Can someone please recommend a one piece small lift block of good quality..ie. iron with pinion angle correction?
  18. .. went to dealership today to have alignment done since the 2" level with Eibach struts as I'm heading out on a 10 000km cross country trip this week (4 provinces and 5 states).. all specs were almost spot on.. toe was only off by a tenth of an inch.
  19. .. my prices are $CDN so if $USD they will be much cheaper. I paid $170ea for the front struts and $139ea for the rear shocks. I did not get the Eibach springs as I did not want to lift it the 2.5" that the springs provide. I bought these back in February and have been running the rears since then but only just installed the fronts last week due to disc/nerve issues with my back. After a week of driving they seem to be holding steady at 2" on the third of four notches. I really love the ride at this setting so I will leave it at 2" and I ordered a 1.25" lift block for the rear to gain some of my rake back for towing.
  20. I have the stock truck springs set at the third notch on my Eibachs.. LOVE the ride, huge improvement over the Ranchos.. gained 2"
  21. .. two days of driving and the suspension is still sitting at 2".. but OMG that ride! What a difference from the Ranchos.. now this is the truck that I would've loved to have test driven at the dealer.
  22. ..2018 Double Cab Z71 I ended up gaining more height than I wanted - gained a hair over 2" but I'm hoping it will settle out at 1.5"..I pull a camping trailer and still want some rake.. if not I'll be pulling them again and dropping a notch
  23. .. leveled with Eibach set at third notch.. gained a hair over 2" but hoping it will settle to 1.5" as I tow a camping trailer so I still want a little rake
  24. .. finally installed my Eibach struts on the third notch
  25. .. installed a set of Timbrens to help when towing the camper
