  1. Bump. Does anyone have any idea from past experience when these typically become available? Where can they be found once they are?
  2. Do they tend to leak at all if you’re looking closely before or do they often just blow without warning? Is one end or the other consistently the problem? Is there any better aftermarket replacement available?
  3. I never found the full QR code, but I used the chat function on the GMC website and they were able to get the full list of RPO codes for me from my VIN in just a few minutes.
  4. Not sure, that’s what I’m trying to figure out too.
  5. I found this video with the procedure for the closely related transmissions on the Camaro. But on my 10 speed I don't see a fill/check port on the bottom of my pan like that car has. I also don't have a dipstick. Any idea what the procedure is here? I'm not ready to do anything right away but I would like to do an early change at some point. IIRC, when I was under there looking, there did appear to be two plugs on the side, sort of like on the transfer case, but even if those are the way, there must a very specific procedure to set the proper level, given the specificity shown in that video. More generally, any idea when a service manual might become available and what the best way to find about it and get one would be? Also, has anyone done their front diff yet? I haven't pulled the skid plate yet to look myself, but I think I read that there's no drain plug anymore. If you've changed your fluid and that is true, did you pull the cover and clean it out like the rear or just vac it out and replace?
  6. Hah nice! My Sierra is going into Nick’s shop next week. He told me there was a Silverado in the shop but never guessed I’d read about it here. Great to hear you’re thrilled, although I’m not surprised. I’m not going quite as hard as you did, but I’m excited to get it installed.
  7. I checked them when I was under it and didn’t find any there either.
  8. Some of what I was reading was actually about the 2500, but just read that the 1500s had a couple too.
  9. I’m not sure I’ve ever greased a personal vehicle, but according to these forums, the previous gen had grease points.
  10. Did my first oil change the other day and while I was under there I took a quick look for grease zerks and didn’t find any. Is everything sealed on these or do I just need to look harder? The owner’s manual specifies a standard cartridge grease (12377985) for “chassis lubrication” so it makes me wonder.
  11. I just filled mine up for the second time yesterday and ran the numbers by hand and they were 1.3% apart. Between the fact that the hand calc isn’t perfect either because of not filling the tank to the exact same level every time (1.3% of the 24 gallon tank is a bit over a quart) and the fact that the DIC only shows one decimal place (.05 MPG rounding error on 16.0 MPG is by itself 0.3%), that seems as accurate as you could expect.
  12. My dealer said the payment schedule/balance doesn't matter as long as the loan remains open for the required time, so if you have the cash, you can pay off all but the last 4 payments right now, save almost all the interest and keep the dealer happy.
  13. What a mess. It sounds like I got pretty lucky. I ordered on 2/15 and it was built on 3/12 and arrived on 4/3.
  14. Yeah, it's all picked out, just waiting for stuff to come in. I'm getting an Audiofrog GB component system (6.5" in the doors and 1.5" in the dash) with a single JL 13TW5 in an underseat box made by a place called MTI Acoustics down in Texas. Going to be powered by a Helix M SIX with the doors each running 2 channels bridged (200x2 for the midbass and 100x2 for the tweeters) and an M ONE for the sub (410x1), fed by a HELIX DSP Mini, initially with speaker level signal coming from the factory system for FM, etc, and a direct USB input card into the DSP for music listening from a phone. Once the Nav-TV is updated for the new truck, I'll be able to ditch the speaker level ins and the USB card and have everything work properly through the factory system. My not having the Bose system is making life a little harder right now in that regard, but I specifically wanted the front bench seat, which limited my options from the factory. I'm not doing anything in the rear speaker locations for the moment.
  15. Cool. It seems like a DSP is pretty much a must have these days. They look awesome. I'm really excited to get mine put in. The last time I did any car audio was an install I did back in 1998, so it's a whole new world now.
  16. Very nice. What did you do to get signal? I'm about to get a system put in mine and at least the last my installer checked the NAV-TV interface to grab digital signal isn't updated to work with the new factory systems yet (or maybe that's just b/c I don't have Bose).
  17. Actually this was just while driving down the road, but that definitely sounds like something that needs to be addressed. I just haven’t been in the truck at night much yet. It was bright enough to be dangerous in my opinion the other night. Fortunately it sounds like I can just turn it down now that I know how. At least until going into reverse.
  18. Thanks. So it just dims with the rest of the dash lights?
  19. I drove the new truck at night for the first time over the weekend and the infotainment screen was pretty blinding. I tried to poke around to find a brightness setting but all I found was a way to turn it off entirely, which worked for the rest of that trip. I looked again today and all I found was a day/night mode, which was set to auto. Any ideas?
  20. Mine was QDF on the order sheet and came with Michelin Primacy LTX, not the Energy Saver. Haven’t scanned the QR code yet.
  21. If you call the customer service number on the GMF website the automated system gives the option to look up your account by SSN or account number. I tried my SSN but nothing yet. Spoke with a rep and she said give it 2-2.5 weeks. So yours might be up by now.
  22. Absolutely. Also, my dealer was totally transparent about the fact that I could pay it off right away, but that it would screw them out of their rebate, and they were really good otherwise too, so I’m going to work with them. But since I was considering paying cash, I’m just going to make a big payment ASAP and knock out almost all of the loan, leaving the few payments they said they need (6, they said). It won’t cost much at all in interest that way and they said as long as the loan exists in any form for that length of time, they get their kickback and everyone’s happy. I’m not sure there’s a similar way to work if you’re planning to refi, but for a cash deal this should work pretty well for all.
