  1. I’ve had both the weathertech’s and the husky’s. I like the husky’s better. I currently just have the larger gm splash guards. Not as good as a full mud flap, but do pretty well.
  2. I have the coverking skanda covers on both front and back. They fit great. I originally had them on my 22, but now they are on my 24’. I had another set on my 17’. Both sets have held up great. Every time someone rides with me they comment on how much they like my seat covers. edit: They are made of condura. Also, I didn’t get the “tactical” version with the Molle webbing. Mine are the normal seat back pocket.
  3. I have a 24’ 2500 that has run Mobil 1 Truck and SUV or regular Mobil 1 since 1k miles. Changed oil again at 5k and stuck w/ 5k intervals. Currently have about 38k on the truck. I don’t have any noticeable loss during an oci. Have had a couple of UOAs and everything looks great on the reports. I am not claiming or arguing that Mobil 1 is anything magical nor that it is the absolute “best” oil I can get, but it seems to work for me and my truck. I think almost any dex 1 gen 3 will work great in these engines.
  4. I purchased one of those adapters from eBay. I liked it enough to purchase one for my dad as well.
  5. I’ve had both on the current series trucks. I prefer the husky’s. The two are similar. It just comes down to preference. I have a full set of weather techs in my garage that I need to sell.
  6. I purchased a service manual for my truck from them. As a couple of others have posted, the manual is downloaded in 4 parts as a pdf. It is a lot of information, approximately 50k pages. Took me some time to figure out how to use the manuals efficiently. It covers everything on your truck. I’ll probably purchase from them again.
  7. I appreciate everyone’s feedback. I ordered additional DEXRON ULV for the job. I’ll try to come back here with a detailed post of my experience. I’m sure someone else will be looking for this info in the future.
  8. We have a 27 ft travel trailer that we tow with a 2500hd gasser. I have a WD hitch from when I had a half-ton. I used it for a while with the 2500 but I haven’t used it in quite a while. I don’t notice much difference either way.
  9. Has anyone serviced the transmission in their 24’ gasser? I’m going to be dropping the pan and replacing the filter and fluid in the next couple of weeks. I am under the impression the service should be very similar to that of Duramax trucks. Do you have to drop the exhaust to remove the pan? How much fluid does it take (I ordered 10 qts)? I would appreciate any information from someone who has done this.
  10. I had issues when I first purchased my truck. My travel trailer has a solar panel on it that triggered the trailer brake fault. I had to wait a couple months for the updated part. I installed a diode in the wiring on my trailer in the mean time. Once I got the updated (actually I think it’s the older part from 20-23 models) part installed, I removed the diode. No issues since the update with a couple of different trailers but all my trailers have basic electric brakes.
  11. We put a set on my dad’s 03’ 2500hd that he generally uses for his farm truck. They made a huge difference, especially when hauling a full load of hay (11 round bales on a gooseneck).
  12. I’m taking it to the dealer on Tuesday morning.
  13. Changed my rear diff fluid this morning (7200 miles on truck). Rear diff was about a qt low (couldn’t even reach the fluid with my pinky) when I had checked it at around 1000 miles. I added a full quart to bring it to the correct level (still not running out, approximately 1/8” below plug). This morning took the cover off, cleaned everything up, and added 4 qts to bring the fluid to level with the plug. The specified capacity of 3.15-3.17 qts seems insufficient.
  14. Had my truck (24’ Silverado 2500HD gas CCSB) on the lift changing out the rear diff fluid. Found my transfer case is leaking. Nothing major, but don’t like a few month old truck leaking fluids. Truck has 7200 miles on it. P.S. I was changing the rear diff fluid because it was about a quart low when I checked during the 1000 mile initial service. I added a quart of 75w-90 mystik synthetic to top it off. Didn’t want mixed fluid in the rear end long term.
  15. We most often tow a small camper or boat. Camper is the reason we upgraded to a 3/4 ton. We bought the camper a couple of years ago when I had a 1/2 ton thinking that we’d be good, but even with our relatively small travel trailer we were a few hundred pounds over payload with family and camping gear (tools, firewood, generator, etc). Having a 3/4 ton does allow me to tow hay and tractors as needed.
  16. I have the opposite on my truck/ phone combo. I was getting aggravated because my phone wasn’t charging reliably, but now it seems to be way better.
  17. I have trailer TPMS on two trailers. They have worked with my dad’s 21’, my previous 22’, and paired right up with my 24’.
  18. No sport package. Oshawa. Built in May. The truck that I had ordered that was blown up before I could pick it up was a LT Z71, also Oshawa built, didn’t have it either. It was built in July.
  19. My 24’ 2500 CCSB LTZ Z71 doesn’t have it. My wife even noticed and asked me about it. My 22’ did.
  20. Took my truck to the dealership on Wednesday. The service writer instantly acknowledged that they were tracking this issue. They ordered the replacement module, but don’t have any estimate on when they will get it. Told me that they hadn’t received any parts orders this week due to the strike.
  21. I had the huskys on my 22’ and put a set on my dad’s 21. I have the weather techs on my 24’. I think that I prefer the huskys.
  22. Sons Chevrolet, Columbus, GA
  23. I think your awareness and caution are going to ensure that you have many worry free miles. After that first oil change, I’d think you are good to tow your boat without looking back. 2500# is nothing for that truck. You’re probably good for the TT at that point too, but you could wait a couple hundred more miles if it helps you sleep better. Like grumpy bear said, just drive like an adult and you’ll be good to go.
  24. Thanks for this. Towed the camper for the first time with the new 24’ this weekend. I had the same issues as everyone else. I’m glad that I had already read this thread. I would have been upset if I had been caught off guard. Luckily I only towed about 15 miles to a local campground and back. I printed this out. I am going to take it to the dealership with me this week.
