  1. We had 10 inches in Michigan and mine were driving me crazy this morning. Can't wash it, supposed to be 7 degrees tonight. I wonder why they can not build little electric heaters in them.
  2. No issue with my CAI nor exhaust. I did not like that GM CAI does not provide a rubber seal for the MAF to the new CAI housing but if there is any leaks there I cannot imagine it would trip a code. I always go back to the last thing that changed. If you had no issues prior to the dealer flashing the ECU, I think they did a bad flash and would start there. That definitely would not be the first time that there was a communication issues during a flash but they should have caught that.
  3. Dealers are terrible at fixing squeaks and rattles. I can not count how many times that I have been told that they can not replicate the problem, not just on GM but all vehicles. I have the same issue on my 2019 rear seat left side. I will find it and fix it myself as so as I can.
  4. Interesting, I did not know that and did not have any issues with the aluminum driveshaft on my 2015 K2. Most of the speed limiter are set due to tire speed rating plus a truck really has no business going that fast. With that said, it was pulling real hard until the rev limiter cut the engine down. I love this new 6.2L engine.
  5. I installed mine also. I took the truck in yesterday. Took the dealer about an hour because they were busy. Showed them my paperwork from where I bought it and no charge, no problems. The billing number they use is on your paperwork. I really did not notice any improved throttle response but the idle is smoother. FYI the speed limiter on the 6.2L is set at 112MPH, have to find a way around that. No tuners out there yet.
  6. Custom Offset's site shows what will fit these trucks. Some guys are running way to much spacer to get the wheels that they like to fit. Probably be a year or so for the nicer wheel companies to catch up.
  7. I am a mechanical engineer not electrical by a stretch but I do like dabbling with tuning. The ECM is always learning to adapt to your driving conditions. Every take the trailer off and the truck runs like a raped ape for a while then it starts to calm down. I do not know what the learning time is for all of the parameters and I do not know if ECM has the proper code to recalibrate the new MAF Sensor readings. I have not had a chance to take mine in for the MAF flash since I put the GM CAI. I have not noticed any difference yet. $500.00 well spent…
  8. I agree, the washable filter is nice for as often as I go thru them. The GM Performance CAI was not my first choice. I wanted the AFE that I have a 3 other vehicles.
  9. Thank you, I run Amsoil in everything and will buy one. I get the Amsoil preferred discount, I am not a distributor. I even run their oil in my tractors.
  10. GM part number 84789804's instruction says to replace the filter GM # 84428120 every 20K miles or 2 years. Right now I can't even find one on the web or at dealers. The dealer wants $115.00 for the filter and many of the parts places on the internet are in the $65.00 range plus shipping. You are right Davestar, I will do it my self for sure but on a dirt road I clean my AFE filters every oil change. I prefer to wash them to blowing another $100.00 every oil change. The GM performance CAI was not my first choice. I have tried many other brands and now like AFE but the service manager explicitly stated if they can find dirt in the throttle body the engine warranty is void. For this truck I only care because of the extended warranty that I purchased with it.
  11. Tested with what, a computer simulation, a flow machine, a chassis dyno, someone's accelerator pedal feel. The major difference between custom builds and OEM builds is that most of us will spend money to do it correctly. When I cut mine off I will measure the squashed tube and calculate the volume and CFM and compare it to the round tube. This is simply for my personal satisfaction.
  12. Probably because everyone thinks if the OEM does it then it has to be the right thing to do. I plan to have an oval fabricated properly or like you said put a round tube in but lower it a bit away from the trans pan and wrap it with header wrap to hold in the heat. Cost always overrides quality in mass production. Most folks don't care and don't know any better.
  13. They do and you save about $400.00 by purchasing it online. I bought mine from Summit Racing. It is a upper easy install and if you don't want to get dirty any local muffler shop will do it for you. Easy money for them.
  14. Anyone find out if these filters can be washed. On the last page of the instructions it stated to replace the filter element every 20K miles or 2 years. The stealer wants $100.00 for the filter if you can find one due to the UAW strike. I have seen them to $65 plus shipping on the web.
  15. I was told by friends at GM in Warren MI that Borla make the system for GM Performance. Borla's lifetime warrantee is better than GM's but you know how that goes, everyone that touches it marks it up.
  16. Hello Craig, definitely not too loud. To quiet for my liking but there is no drone and no difference in the exhaust sound during cylinder deactivation. The only time I can hear the new exhaust is under heavy throttle. During normal acceleration and highway speeds it is very quiet in the cab. I believe Borla has a return policy is you are not happy with it. I have many Borla exhaust systems and they make great products. I do have Borla Attack systems on 2 of my Mustangs and they are loud but they are toys, not a daily drivers. I would not recommend the S Type or the Attack if you are concerned about louder exhaust sound.
  17. Does anyone know with the GM Part # 84789804 Cold Air Intake if the filter media can be washed and reused or not. The instructions say to replace the filter with a new one part number 84428120 every 20K miles. Every other dry media CAI is washable. These filters are hard to find and expensive..
  18. Hello Terry, I have this system and after reading the instructions, it says to replace the filter element part # 84428120 every 20K miles. I thought it was washable like all of the other CAI's on the market. These filters are $100.00 at the dealer and around $65 on line. Are they telling me wrong or do you have to replace them. Paul
  19. Mine does it once in a while and it is annoying but I do not want to take it back just for that. I read to run some premium gas in it. The 6.2L engines love higher octane gasoline. I am on my third tank of Sunoco 93 octane. I can say it is better but still hick ups once in a while. BUT on the good side I am seeing the best fuel mileage since I bought the truck, generally over 20MPG on the highway at 75 - 80MPH.
  20. As much as I enjoyed the read, unless you calculated the CFM of the cross section of the crushed area this is all BS. Cost overrides quality at GM and most OEM's. The machine to crush this tube is much cheaper the fabricating a nice oval or hydroforming the tube to keep the size consistent. When I get the time to cut mine off, I will calculate the CFM of the crushed area and I'd bet a C note that the left bank is running richer than the right due to flow restriction on that side. The flappers are a bigger joke. When I took my exhaust off to put the Borla cat back on, at only 4000 mile they already had carbon build up. These are probably why GM extended warrantee does not cover the exhaust, they know these valves will fail. I have been in automotive engineering for 30 years, 10 at GM and I build race cars and trucks for fun. Think of your engine as a simple air pump, fast smooth in and fast smooth out makes for more efficiency.
  21. I installed my Borla Touring #140771 earlier this week on a 2019 LTZ 6.2L. For what I wanted it sounds great, maybe a bit quiet. What I was afraid of was a drone when the cylinders shut down and there is none. As a mechanical engineer I have to say that this flapper set up is a joke. I can see why the extended warrantee does not cover the exhaust system. Those flappers will fail. Even if they get stuck open, their shape restricts flow. I know other companies use them, some are opened and closed electronically but I think this is a terrible execution of this system. My next step is to fixed the squashed cross over pipe. I have read the oval will move as much CFM as a round tube on this tread and I agree, if it was a calculated oval. Put a straight edge on your pipe. They simply crushed it and when I cut mine off, I will measure the ID and do the calculations of the flow loss.
  22. I do but I did not measure the turn signals. I am interested if you can PM me. Thank you
  23. Hello 2SSRS, I want to put the 2019 GMC LED turn signals in my 2019 Chevy LTZ. Got any part numbers and / or kits for that? I have seen some LED bulb conversions that work but many that fail or error even with the proper resistors.
  24. Coming from a K2XX 3500HD, this truck rides nicer than most cars. You may want to get that back looked at Sir, it may be more serious than just the seats.
