  1. This. If your music isn’t downloaded to your phone and you run into a dead zone, it will sit and try to load. My fiancé has to deal with that whether she’s using Bluetooth or android auto. My music is downloaded on my phone so it’s not an issue for me.
  2. This may sound odd, but give it a try and see if it fixes your issue. It may help, it may not. Locate the fuses/relays for the radio and cluster. Pull them out and make sure that they are not covered in dust. If they are, wipe the dust away. Used a can of compressed air and blow out the ports that the relays plug into. Plug the fuses/relays to back in and see if it helps. Years ago, I had a 2003 Malibu and one day, my DRLs kept kicking on and off causing the service vehicle soon light to pop on every time the lights would go out. I did the procedure above and it fixed the issue. It never happened again.
  3. You can check eBay and junkyards for mirrors too.
  4. My truck did that a few times. I cleaned the mass air flow sensor and throttle body. It stopped after that.
  5. I’ll take a look into that. Thanks.
  6. I don't know... Abraham Lincoln once said that everything on the internet is true.
  7. I think a good idea for the ZR2 that could possibly make it more appealing to that type of customer would be to offer multiple engine choices. The TRX only has 1 engine and the Raptor only has one from the factory unless its shipped off to Shelby. I think the ZR2 should have the L84, L87 and 3.0 Duramax offered to give customers more choice, but I would even take it a step further. I would offer the LT4 as well because I would do everything I could to not lose sales to Ford and Ram since their trucks are or can be supercharged. Someone may say, well I want a supercharged version of this type of truck and since GM doesn't offer it, I'll go buy the TRX or Raptor instead. Plus, since neither the TRX or Raptor are diesel powered, it could possibly pull even more sales GM's way since they would have the only diesel available for that type of truck.
  8. Along with checking your MAF sensor, check to make sure your air filter is not filthy and clean your throttle body if it needs it too.
  9. Oh okay. I haven't heard much about it. I'm hoping its more of a Raptor/TRX competitor more than anything. I guess we'll find out in a month.
  10. Do you use Face ID or a passcode to get into your phone? iPhones will not allow you to use CarPlay until the phone is unlocked. I have to unlock my phone every time I plug it in to use CarPlay.
  11. That sounds like a big mess and a lot of money they’ll be losing.
  12. They might with the ZR2 that is set to come out soon.
  13. That and people don't change the fluid and filter in them like they should either.
  14. This is good to know in case other states follow California's lead and start checking for tunes when people have to get their yearly inspections done.
  15. The oil pump makes a power steering like whine which is considered normal. It's more noticeable at idle or low speeds.
  16. These radios can be glitchy from time to time. My radio completely froze once and I couldn’t use it until I restarted the truck. There have been a few times where I’ve opened a door with the truck off and this weird noise will play out of one of the speakers.
  17. Now that was a great idea and would come in very handy.
  18. I’ve got good news for you @Grumpy Bear. We have parking for three trucks.
  19. There is another post on here about this issue. The post has a tsb in it. I believe the tsb says to change the fluid and filter. My truck would fishbite for a couple of minutes when the truck was cold. Since I changed my fluid in the pan and filter at 30,000, it doesn’t fishbite as bad. I’m thinking it still does it a little bit because it still has old fluid in it since I didn’t flush the transmission.
  20. You guys are free to come visit us in DE whenever you want
  21. I second altering the transmission thermostat. The six speed runs too hot from the factory. My tranny fluid was already cooked by 30,000 miles. I changed the fluid in the pan and filter and did the pill flip. That’s where you flip the positions of the spring and thermostat in the housing so the fluid is constantly running through the cooler. The tranny runs much cooler now which should extend the life of the fluid and tranny.
  22. Inspect the sensor and wiring harness for any damage. While you have it out, clean it with some MAF sensor cleaner to see if that will help with the rough idle.
  23. Check GM wholesale websites like Cultrag or GM Direct to get the part new if you can’t find a used one.
  24. Thanks for the input guys.
  25. I’m trying to chase down a noise and I’m wondering if it’s the starter. When I do my first start of the day, I get a faint metallic scratching noise. It doesn’t even last for a second. The colder it is outside, the louder the noise is. It’s barely noticeable in the 40s, but more noticeable in the 20s and 30s. It doesn’t make the noise any other time you start the truck at any other point in the day. I originally thought it was a loose heat shield and I checked those. The one above the third cat was a little loose so I tightened it up, but that wasn’t it. I know the starters on these trucks aren’t very good. The truck does start perfectly fine and does every time. The truck has just shy of 28,000 miles on it. Has anyone experienced this before or know of any TSBs on this possible issue? Thanks.
