  1. I just swapped my reg mirrors to tow mirrors. The clearance lights and turn signals are not pre-wired unless your original mirrors had those options. There are a few places that offer wiring kits, or you could replace whole harness. I went with Boost auto parts wiring kit. took me about 30 minutes a side to wire it up.
  2. I do not know the current wire schematic for door locks, however, there are 2 spots you can tap into, one is on the foot panel by the door and the other is the wiring harness up under dash. Im sure someone can chime in with the correct wiring color. Can you post your year model and trim level as this may help whoever is looking it up. I did this exact thing on my 2016 and it was super easy once I knew which wire to tap.
  3. I have a lot of experience in Autocad, but all 2d...so its like starting over...will check out freecad.
  4. Kodiak what 3d modeler are you using, cant seem to do radius with tinker cad as it wants to radius every side of object not just what I want.
  5. .obj file to adjust to whatever micro adjustments you need for your application. I ran mine at 100% infill .3mm height for speed using PLA+. Tool 1.5 hours each. 2019+GMC Caps Round.obj
  6. I just started using tinkercad as it seemed to have the easist entry into 3d world. I just got done making the round caps that worked for my application (2nd one still printing as we speak). I was getting a variable from the actual tinker cad to the end product of +/- .8mm which you wouldnt think is much but it is when it comes to sizing a hole that 1 isnt truly round, and 2 has some slight surface rust causing imperfections. I took me 3 itterations to come up with it a model that is tight and tough/flexible enough to be pounded in with a mallet without cracking. Im using PLA+ though for now which is fine as it is not a moving part. Will upgrade to ABS down the road. I used digital calipers to know my large and small diameters and split the difference. My first one was just slightly too large and wouldnt even start to go in, the next one was too loose. This last one was tight but got it to go in . I used 1.73 diameter (didnt have calipers til today for mm) as a reference outter diameter for the plug and that seemed to work just perfect. I will start messing with the rectangles tomorrow. I will post up the tinker cad files and .stl files for our users to mess with on here. I had fun just messing with it and the DIY. Just wish it didnt take 1.5 hours (twice) to find out it didnt work..lol
  7. I don't know Canadian law, but in most states its illegal to have white lights to the rear while in driving. (obviously not in reverse)
  8. Most people actually measure from center of wheel to fender as that wont change even with different tires/rims etc. You will also gain height from 3.0l to 2.7 due to engine weight...i lost 1/2" from 5.3 to 3.0...guessing you would gain some from 5.3 to 2.7.
  9. I dont want to steal kodiaks credit for coming up with the idea....but i just got a 3d printer and want to tinker and will try and post a .stl for these when i get a design that works well. Dont want to recreate the wheel but too cheap to pay for what i can maybe make. **Please buy sets from Kodiak as I will not be making any to sell just for my own personal use. ** Kodiak...On a side note though maybe you could get a few $$ for .stl file alone privately for those who have printers but dont want to take the time to design.
  10. Finally received my autostart/stop eliminator today and got it installed. Took about 30 minutes but I have done a few before so could move quicker.
  11. I think you will see the Truck market crash soon as well. GM and many others have a delivery problem. GM just put out that it has 250k in overstock lots awaiting delivery to dealerships. Even with chip shortages vehicles are being made, they just cant get them out to dealerships right now.
  12. I know this is old thread, but it came up on my search multiple times and is still a problem on '21/22 modelsso wanted to show another solution now: https://www.facebook.com/Magnoliaadvanced/ I have no affiliation and am waiting on more stock to come in for my own use, but seems to be a good solution for rubber type feel instead of metal and half the cost.
  13. I have a few things to move along after upgrading to my new truck. Truck was purchased new 6-22-22 and all items taken off in first 2 weeks. 21 Black TRQ Mirrors. Manual fold, Power heat and power adjust. (Upgraded to tow mirrors) $150 (will ship at buyers expense) 21 Plain OEM rearview mirror $20 Located near Grand Rapids MI
  14. Im not sure, when I was looking at the mirror options, my local pats guy showed me cost on a couple of options. Even my new (non power folding) mirrors have a code to update BCM to enable features and calibrate. the other required the mirrors, new harnesses plus the door panel actuator. The update code was likely just to calibrate the mirror speed and he gathered there would be more programming needed so I said screw it. Its a super nice feature but it wasnt worth paying that much more without some better guarantee it would work as it should. I had the basic TRQ mirrors with no puddle, spot, cameras etc so that may have some factor in it.
  15. With tow mirrors, pretty much as I want it now.
  16. I cant imagine that cover causing that large of MPG. You are more likely suffering from bad gas or similar than drag from a loose cover. A hard cover would add Total vehicle weight increase, the soft covers weight is negligible at best.
  17. Ok so its a Sierra but.....lol Added tow Mirrors yesterday, so will get some better pics soon.
  18. You will not get the power folding option without a lot of add on's and a BCM flash. I am not 100 sure if the mounts are the same, but the 2021 15 uses a 19 pin plug as I just put mine on today. I imagine they are the same mounting platform. Depending on the price though you would be paying for several options you wouldnt be able to use.
  19. Box did you buy new badges or paint/plastidip those? I am contemplating doing this to mine. Thanks
  20. Nothing too fancy, have a set of Z71 Tahoe 20" rims I swapped from the 20" black elevation package. Both had the 275 Trailrunners. I just added 2" factory lift and probably going to level 1" off the front. Will likely go a little more aggressive down the road but still enjoying my gas mileage so no need to change right this second.
  21. I had a 2021 LT Trailboss that I had aftermarket wheels and 285/70/17's on it. I didnt really hear any road noise to speak of ever. I had a loaner custom trail boss a few days ago with the factory 18's and 275's and it was loud as sin. It didnt bother me, just was weird that a smaller width tire was louder. I wonder if it was more rubber side wall dampening it, or something else. It was just odd that 2 very similar trucks sounded so different.
  22. How do you like the firewire? I am just about to stat adding my lights back onto my truck and considered these but havent seen them in person. I run a speedturtle, visor light, and some accessory lights on the sides but considered putting firewire on my sides instead. Short of drilling there is not a lot of options for side lighting on a tinted truck. I guess would you buy them again?
  23. This is after steps and lift (pictures to big to post in same post sorry) Gained about 5" clearance under mid of truck. Not sure if im gong to add a leveling kit or not yet. May also add more aggressive tires down the road but enjoying my 27mpg too much right now.
  24. Purchased on 6/22/22-This is before lift and steps Swapped out tires/rims for a 2021 Tahoe rim as I am not a fan of all black rims Swapped out rectangular running boards for High Clearance off road step. Added 2" factory GM lift. Added aftermarket subwoofer under rear seat Windows tinted Aeroskin 2 hood protector Lasfit LED Reverse Lights ARQ Rearview mirror with universal home remote Tow mirrors are in my garage and will be installed in next few days.
