Numbers-wise the Dodge and the Tesla don't match up. Even if the Tesla Plaid and Bugatti Chiron lined up, I wouldn't be surprised if the Chiron lost. EVs have the advantage with torque. Torque wins races, not horsepower. However, the closest comparison we can get is with horsepower. Sorry to hear about your golf cart. The one I described was preferable, imo. And, golf courses are a waste of perfectly good long distance shooting ranges, imo.

Based on the prices in finding for CBs, money really isn't an option. It's cheaper than I thought it was going to be. I went into this assuming I'd be paying $300-$400 for a CB. I wanted an All In One because all the controls are in the mic. It's more compact/concealable, and won't affect my passengers. I am hung up on the antenna research at the moment. Just haven't been able to commit the time to searching like I want to. Lots of other things going on right now. Not a biggie. Seems UPS is taking its sweet time getting my delivery to me.

Was it lifted with oversized chrome wheels, custom paint job, and a stereo system?

I wouldn't put a Chevy Cruze against a Corvette and call it an equal race to make a point. You missed your mark on that one. Depreciation applies to all cases. Just ask the IRS and any business in the USA. In the early days of automobiles electric cars outnumbered ICE cars. You clearly don't know what you're talking about. ICE won for the same reasons it seems to be winning today. More reliable -- Teslas are garbage, which is why they don't hold their value. Infrastructure -- when the automobile was first coming into existence the world was dependent on kerosene. The waste product of kerosene was leaded gasoline. ICE was a solution, and shifted the direction of the Industrial Revolution. ICE built this country. In the early days Pennsylvania alone accounted for 10% of total global crude oil. Over the decades all electronics have changed in many ways. There are many ways enthroned will change in the future. It is said a laptop is out of date and no better than a doorstop after 6 months. Chargers and cords have changed a lot over the ll decades, too. A big problem that isn't being discussed with EV infrastructure is rapid modernization of new charging technologies. The charging network will be slower to modernize than initial setup, and initial setup has been very slow. At some point more power stations will need to be built, thus creating more pollution. Nobody wants to invest in the greenest energy -- nuclear. Even California has opted to decommission its last nuclear power plant. And, they are having trouble keeping hydroelectric power plants running because the reservoirs at those plants are too low. People should be charging their EVs more frequently than 3 or 4 times per month. My neighbor has a 30+ minute commute, all freeway, to/from work. He traded his F150 for a Fusion Hybrid. Oh, and Tesla will fail unless they learn a new trick very quickly. They have never changed the look of their vehicles, and all new models look the same. S, 3, X, Y, and the upcoming 2. Ford almost went out of business because of this in the early days. Legacy automakers like GM and Ford will prevail over Tesla because they have the ability to modernize and update vehicle looks every several years. Elon Musk even channeled his inner Henry Ford recently when he said, "People can have any color Cybertruck they want as long as it's unpainted." Compare that to Henry Ford saying, "People can have any color they want as long as it's black." Sell your stock in Tesla, and keep a ICE vehicle in the driveway. You're going to need it. EVs are worse for the environment, more expensive, and not sustainable. I have an idea! Let's make a Silverado based on the Chevy Volt. Make it all electric, but use a smaller engine to recharge the batteries only. I heard Grumpy talking about how marvelous his 4.3 V6 engine is. Let's start there.

The only way charging is free in California is if you have solar panels to provide 100% of your homes' energy needs, and use that to recharge your EV. I know somebody who does that with their Tesla Model Y, but only after paying thousands of dollars to install solar panels. And, I doubt military families would fall under your definition of "pensioner". If even argue that they do more for you than you do for them. One of the things they have to to deal with is relocating every couple of years. EVs are not suitable vehicles for them. Driving across the country, vehicle loaded, time constraints mandated by military leadership, etc. EVs are nothing more than electric scooters at Walmart. You use them to go a short distance then return them to the plug so they can be used again. And, with EV charging stations taking up the front of the parking stalls, like handicap stalls, and needing an equal amount of space for the charging station too, the electric scooter at the grocery store is a fair and adequate comparison. Every seen Disney's movie Wall-E? Sort walking distances from the parking lot to the Jazzy scooter encourage being a fatso.

I think I have the T1 with the most lights (that's almost embarrassing to say out loud). 40" light bar over roof, 2 ditch lights near the base of the A pillars, the Rough Country dual 10" lights in my grille, and more that's not relevant to this post. A good led bar won't do the washout discussed above. I have Baja Designs in all but the grille (I'm looking into changing this to Baja Designs though). I don't have any wind noise at any speed, and I've maxed the speed on the truck with all this on. If your goal with a curved lightbar is total coverage, then get a good straight lightbar with lenses that'll scatter the light left and right. You get what you pay for. For example, the Rough Country lights in the grill are garbage. Baja Designs lights are much more expensive, for a good reason. Be wary of what type of lightbar you purchase. Btw, the lightbar over my roof is mounted on top of the GM Accessories sportbar. It sits a few inches above the roof. No whistle, or any other noise coming from it.

It doesn't hold its value like a Jeep, but tends to be more reliable. Ironic. Edit: And, it's much bigger. You'll notice that when parking and offroading.

GM Accessories has a set that starts by looking like carbon fiber then transitions to good black. That would look nice in a midnight work, imo.

Military wanting to take POV on PCS to AFE? You're going to need new tail lights. The only truck I know of that satisfies this requirement is Ram. Hopefully something aftermarket comes out soon.

I've only ever used WeatherTech since owning my 2006 Cobalt SS. My 2020 Silverado is the 6th vehicle I've installed them on. I've never had an issue with them. However, on my 2020 I've had an occasional high pitched whistle at freeway speeds with a very song cross wind. First time I experienced it was driving in west Texas headed to New Mexico. Wind was very strong from right to left. Many months later I was driving south on I-15 from Utah and headed to California. In Nevada I experienced the same issue. Freeway speed, strong wind from right to left. Whistling on the right side. In both scenarios I listed the window a tiny bit and the whistling stopped. Other than this, the WeatherTech visors work perfectly. I'm happy with them. Even with windows down at freeway speed they don't rattle or flex.

Just crossed 22k miles today on my 2020. No issue like this so far. Edit: Looking at the 22,500 mile service interval via the MyChevrolet app I noticed there is a requirement to check the gas peddle for operation and replace if needed. Might be worth taking it to the dealer to have the gas peddle inspected.

Here's a question I've been pondering today. So far the Hummer EV produces over 1,000 bhp and 11,5000 btq. The new Silverado EV produces 664 bhp. I didn't get the torque number for it. Iirc, the new Silverado EV produces 8 more bhp than a current production Camaro ZL1. If you have a kid that's about to turn 16 and you buy them a car, would you get them a Camaro ZL1? Not only is my answer, "Hell No!", but I'd go a step further and even say I wouldn't get them my truck (Trail Boss LT w/ 6.2). I want that kid on training wheels, via a gutless turd of a car that couldn't get out of its own way. Being in Southern California I know lots of people with Teslas. I've had my butt whooped by a Tesla Model 3 and a Tesla Model Y Dual Motor from so lights to speed limit. They are surprised I keep it as close as I do, but they always win. There is no way I'm giving a brand new driver the keys to an EV. The performance of those things is like giving them the keys to a ZL1, and we all can speculate how that will turn out.

You might want to check those numbers again. Trump got us to the point of exporting more oil than we import, but that's about to change under the Biden Admin. However, I wouldn't be surprised if COVID played a factor in this, too.

It's the future of 1500s and smaller. GM has already said they're keeping the 2500 HD and bigger trucks with ICE.

A company in Michigan called ONE may be able to help here. I read an article tonight about how they took a Tesla car that had a max range of 320 miles, swapped out only the battery for one of their own, drove the car up and down Michigan without recharging, and accretive 752.2 miles total. They then recharged the battery and placed the car on a dyno and cruised at 55mph until the battery drained and got 820 miles. They aren't double stacking batteries like GM is. It's just a new battery, and apparently it's more eco-friendly and not as prone to be affected by weather (heat/cold) as the current batteries are. This was just a proof of concept test, and there's things they're still working on, but with this and solid state batteries, the future for EVs is right around the corner. I said I'd buy one if the range exceeded 700 miles. Looks like that'll be happened sooner than I thought.

It does share the steering wheel and touchscreen with the Corvette, and makes more power than a Z51 C8.

I like the buttons. I hate the vents and touchscreen from the Corvette.
