Anybody else notice the quick little comment about a Trail Boss EV Silverado? That'll be interesting. I'm not a fan of the new Avalanched Silverado, but if you held a gun to my kids heads and told me to pick an EV or they die if pick the new Silverado. No point in holding a gun to my head, lol. I wouldn't pick an EV in that scenario.

My kid played baseball this fall with another kid whose dad works at Rivian. I spoke to him about hydrogen. He said they looked into it and it's not happening. I'll settle for a diesel electric hybrid, like a train. Being a military family that moves every 3 years, plug in electric is a no go. Not enough range. I don't think I'll be satisfied until electric trucks can get 700 miles without a trailer. Towing would cut that down to 250-300 miles. Then I'll be ready to buy one.

It would sell in California. With that said, the pic looks like it's photoshopped. Look at the RST badge on the front. I don't think GM would label an EV as RST. We'll find out in about an hour if it's the real deal.

I do go offroad, so the Trail Boss works for me. I have the 6.2. My truck is also the family hauler. However, I'm in Southern California. The electric cars are driven by a bunch of a-holes who floor it and zip in front of everybody then slam on their brakes. I see it coming, but they're nothing I can do. The truck just isn't quick enough. More go power would prevent the cutoff. I think I'll add an aftermarket supercharger once the powertrain warranty expires.

GM Performance. It's a bit more expensive, but it gets the ECU reflashed, carries a GM warranty, and is California CARB compliant.

I've been debating on whether or not to get 285/70/18 or 285/75/18. Not doing anything until the original tires need replacing. No point in wasting money on tires.

Doing some digging, it appears this particular CB is out of stock everywhere. Some websites say it'll be available after the 15th. Does that mean this CB is that much better than the Cobra 75 WX ST? Still finding those in stock everywhere.

I never had a jump seat. My wife wanted me to get one, but I told her I enjoy my space (read between the lines). Sorry if I made you think I did have a jump seat. My truck came with the center console. I'm familiar with the center console because I had to tear it apart to swap the wire harness to install OE wireless phone charging.

Have you tried removing the seat to get a better view? The bolts are T50. I recommend a 1/2" drive socket and wrench. You'll need the torque to get them going.

I speculate the reason why GM uses felt in lieu of plastic is due to noise and/or freezing temperatures. I really don't know why they chose felt. What I do know is plastic can be more prone to cracking in freezing temps, and more noisy when rocks/pebbles are kicked up and hit the liners. Just a thought. As I said, I really don't know why.

Maps+ need a lot of updating to be up to date. There a lot of addresses it couldn't find when I tried using it.

Just thought I'd follow up on the CB radio deal I found. It was ebay and started at $121. Sold for about $220. No, it wasn't me. I found another elsewhere for less. Once the ebay bidding went too high I bought the other one I found. Somebody paid way too much for a Uniden CMX760.

Iirc, the leds the Germans are using are laser leds. Iirc, Biden's infrastructure legislation would legalize laser led lights for cars in the US. Baja Designs is already selling laser led lightbars. They throw light further without blinding oncoming drivers. Personally, I have no qualms about the led lights on my truck.

The harness primarily runs under the console. If you remove the piece with the cup holders and front tray you'll see a hole in the console. This is where the harness comes up and connects to a mini USB plug and a sensor underneath the cup holders for detecting the key fob on trucks with push button start. If you pull the console out of your truck and flip it over you'll see a few holes for push pins that are connected to the harness. My truck is an LT Trail Boss.. it's sounds like yours is the same that my truck came with. Correct. That's where the harness gets its power from. That plug is under the front passenger seat carpet, and the console harness routes under the left seat track and into the underneath of the console.

$100 is half of what it was a decade ago. Also, MVI says the SD cards are VIN specific. That website doesn't ask for a VIN. Only year, make, and model. Is MVI full of **it?

I got this beat. The house I'm in was built back in the 50s or 60s. The road hasn't changed since being created. GM Nav tells me to turn onto the street. The street is a loop with an island in the middle and 8 houses on the perimeter. One way in and out. Once I turn into the street it tells me the address is in an unpaved area and drive with caution offroad. However, it marks exactly where my house is. Google Maps gets it right, though. I prefer the GM Nav system because the connection for Google Maps is only a good as the connecting to the phone and radio. I bought my truck in Virginia. 2 weeks later I'm driving cross country to my new home in California. Some highways were bumpy and I'd lose the connection. After a few times I said, "F it!" and referred to Rand McNally.
