  1. I am having an issue where my running lights are not working on passenger tail light. Brake lights and turn signal works just fine. When I take my key out and there is a minute of lights being on everything works. I replaced the wiring harness as I saw this was a common issue but the same thing is still happening. I am thinking it is the actual connector the wiring harness is going into.
  2. I have a 2016 LS Tahoe patrol rig and the factory center console has been replaced with a Troy Products console. They did not add the USB media hub and I am trying to figure out how to install one so I can plug in my iPhone for music. I ordered a harness and hub off eBay but cannot figure out where to install it or if it is even what I need. There is a USB connector under the passenger seat but I can not find the correct cable/harness to run it to the USB hub. The top connectors are what is installed, the bottom is the harness I bought. Any help on what I actually need would be appreciated.
  3. Got my full console from Ebay used in like new condition. I did alot of research to figure out how to wire it so all the functions would work. I.e. wireless phone charger and usb/ cigarette liter ports for the rear passenger. I have a currently have a 22 2.7l Custom that doesn't have the required connection under the front passenger seat. After hours of looking at schematics and testing wires, I managed to hard wire my center console to the fuse box on the passenger side. Wire on the CC harness to Fuse box Both Red/white to F5 (Battery positive) Violet to F20 (Accessory on) Violet/yellow to F23 (Accessory on) BOTH Black to Ground below the Fuse box. The only section I wasn't able to get working yet is the USB in the middle of the console (the one with the map SD card). This one I believe needs to be connected to the radio that has the built in navigation. (once I get one I'll update this post.
  4. Does anyone have access to GM harness schematics? Trying to find the correct harness that goes from the center console to the dash (infotainment system). Installed the center console with storage, cigarette lighters and USB ports and would like to use the factory harness without having to cut and splice. Or does anyone have access to just the plug and I can add my own pins?
  5. Can any give some insight on which wires are connected to which speakers on the green plug. I have attached a picture. There are a total of 10 wires and I’m assuming they are (LF+/-)(RF+/-), (RR+/-), (LR+/-) 12V and ground but do not know which goes to where. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!
  6. Hi all. My son has a 2009 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 6.0. we are wondering can we use a engine wiring harness for a 5.3? Also what year range can we use.
  7. So I noticed in between the driver and rear seat of my 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT underneath the truck was a harness hanging there. I looked up the part number to see what it's purpose was, because I couldn't find anywhere it plugged into. The part number is PBT-GF30. Can someone help me with this? Also my truck is idling in between 500rpm to a little over 1,000rpm when the truck is in park. I changed the intake air flow sensor but didn't do the trick.
  8. I am trying to add an AudioControl Line Output converter, and 2 separate amplifiers to my existing 2015 Sierra Crew Cab SLT Bose system. I'll use a 5-way amp to power the front, rear, and console subwoofer. I've got a sub amp to power dual 10" subwoofers in an enclosure under the back seat. I've looked everywhere for a 2014-2015 GMC Sierra aftermarket harness for Bose systems without any luck. Basically, I would like to fabricate a custom harness so that I don't have to totally splice into the existing wiring. That way, I can simply keep my existing bose system in place, and if needed for warranty or if I end up selling or needing to yank out the audio system, still keep factory in place. Also, I can't completely remove the factory Bose amp, because it handles other processing, like bluetooth, door chimes, etc. The amp will continue to power the two dash speakers, and have other low level inputs from the factory head unit, but all of the other speakers outputs (from Bose Amp) will be summed by the AudioControl LOC, then output via RCA to the two amps, with speaker level outputs from the amps back to the custom harness and out to the speakers. I've found an adapter from Metra for an amp bypass (http://www.metraonline.com/part/70-2057), which was made for non-bose, but will work for the female side of the custom harness on the bose system, but I need the male versions of the adapter as well to connect to the amp. If I could get the harnesses identified as #3 in the photo below, I think that will work. Then I just do all the splicing and electrical connections on the custom harness instead of factory wiring. Any idea how to find/order it?
  9. UPDATED PRICES I totaled my truck last week hitting a deer. So I'd like to sell a few of my upgrades. My next truck will have the options I want. Sold Item 2 – LTZ/High Country taillight package -$550 Shipped This package includes LED taillights with factory harnesses. I also have the Pgamboa taillight adaptor harnessed to eliminate the hyperflash. I was unable to retrieve the resistors for these harnesses but you could source them elsewhere or contact Harness Dr. to see if he could sell you a replacement set. I would like $550USD shipped Item 3 – Power fold mirror switch - SOLD Item 4 – Heated steering wheel - $100 USD shipped This is a Sierra wheel with the heat and collision avoidance buttons. The collision avoidance button will not function but does not affect the operation. There is a slight blemish on the to of the steering wheel that was there when I bought it from salvage. I would like $100USD shipped
  10. Hello, I’m new to this so please bare with me. I have a 2018 Silverado LT With DL8 Mirrors And I just purchased the DL3 Mirrors Online. I connected the driver side mirror to the factory switch harness and the only function I’m getting from it is the mirror adjustment settings. The problem I’m having is that the turn signal and puddle lights are not working. im hoping to get some advice, I’m not worried about making it look nice I just really would like to get it to work. I came to think that if I were to tap into the power wire in the mirror harness for the mirror turn signal, and possibly run a wire from there to To the headlight turn signal wire harness that would get it to work? Then maybe run a wire from puddle light but run that to something that turns on when the doors are unlocked? The problem is I’m worried that it might be pushing too much power to the mirror and blow something out? if that can work I’m not sure witch wires in the mirror harness to tap into? I can’t find anything online showing what wires do what? Thanks!
  11. Hello again, everyone. Back here with another update of yet another unlock that has been discovered for the HMI - Rear Camera in Motion! This one has been pretty sought after and I'm very excited to be able to offer it to the community here. This unlock can be performed on any 2014 - 2018 GM truck that has a rear camera installed. It requires the use of an additional harness which I provide. This unlock places a "Camera" application on the screen of the HMI which allows the user to view the rear camera for 25 seconds while the vehicle is driving. This is perfect for checking on your trailer connections while on the road or just viewing any obstacles behind you. Please see the video demo below and feel free to send me a PM if you're interested in adding this to your vehicle. Thanks for looking.
  12. Looking for a specific buyer in Ontario Canada ?? - I know most users are from the United States however I would rather local pickup. What's included - - Pair of DL3 (either black or chrome caps) these mirrors have power fold, tsignal, puddle lights - pgamboa custom harness to make it work on non equipped trucks - GM mirror switch with power fold option This is a full conversion of everything you'll need so I don't want to split anything apart.
  13. Hey everyone, I'm on the hunt for a dash harness for a 2014+ Silverado or Sierra. If you have one reasonably priced please let me know. Thanks!
  14. Hello everyone, I have a 2009 6.2 L9H planned for a project. Looking for info on what is needed, how to make a stand alone harness with the e38. Intended vehicle is a pro 2 truck with no luxury items needed. Mated to a th 400 manual valve body trans. Thanks much
  15. I had some Tri-Mode Steps on my 2018 Sierra Denali Ultimate, however I removed and sold them due to not liking the Chrome or how far they hung down.. I was under the impression I could get some AMP Powersteps that were plug n' play and I could just plug them into the existing wiring harness under the truck were the old ones connected in? Is that not the case? It seems like it would be quite easy to mount them and utilize the existing harness since it already correctly handles when to drop/raise the boards, etc. Is this possible?
  16. 2014 WT, Ecotec 4.3L V6. Rarely gets used. Bought new. First time they chewed through the injector harness. This time it is the wiring that goes to engine cooling fan and the alternator. Trying to do repairs and came upon this in the attached picture. It was wrapped in the tape of the harness and is something OEM. There are two wires (black with white stripe going in on one side and two smaller gauge wires coming out of the other. In between, there is the black plastic tube filled with a rigid white plastic. I don't know what is in the tube. The wires end up going to the ECM near the front driver side of the engine compartment. The black plastic tube has letters "FL-0" on it. Does anyone know what this is or what the wires control. Is it a fusible link maybe. The issue that is making repair difficult is that the wires that have been chewed through only have about 1/8th of an inch exposed before it goes into the white plastic making soldering or crimping impossible. I could try and trim away some of the plastic and expose more wire but if there is some component in the plastic it could be damaged. If nothing is in there i could cut the entire thing away and solder new wires. Any ideas?
  17. DL3 mirror harnesses. Should fit 2014 - 2016 GMC SLT. Removed from 2015 with only 5,000 miles. $100 shipped to lower US address. Mirrors in pics EXCLUDED. Harnesses (aka pigtails) only.
  18. Hello folks, I'm Aaron Grayer and I'm a new guy here. Short intro, I'm currently a Auto/Diesel Tech student and musician (yes, they do go together). Got hopes and dreams of working for Ohio CAT and making something of myself in the industry. I am also a die hard GM Truck fan, which is why I joined GM Trucks Currently, I have an issue that I'm confronted with on my truck. I installed and wired correctly an XO VIsion X358 Single DIN In Dash Receiver. After searching to the ends of the Earth it seems like, I finally found a radio harness compatible for my truck. However, I'm still confronted with the same problem: I have to fuse the Orange (Illumination), Yellow (Radio Constant), and Red (Radio 12V Ignition) wires together for the radio to power on. As you may suspect, this mean the radio is receiving constant power. I have to pull the radio fuse under the hood to disconnect power to the radio but I noticed it also disconnects power to my speedometer, tachometer, message center, LED display in the cluster, oil pressure gauge, temperature gage, illumination in the door panels, fog lights, the light in the ashtray and the HVAC controls. I still have the factory radio and I've seen some YouTube videos of people with the same GM setup successfully but they never walk through the steps of how they did it. Can someone here help me please? I would gladly appreciate it!
  19. I have a 2003 gmc sierra 2500HD i am totally ballfed as to why i have no brake lights, i tossed the LED's that were on it and re-installed new candesant 4" sealed round lights. in the beginning when i bought this truck i didnt notice it had no brake lights, my 360 check was lacking some from excitement and dog tired from driving 150 one way miles in a saturn that would only run 50 mph. i get it home and after several people passing me telling me i only have one brake light, i start diagnosing and checking every wire on it. the reverse light didnt work nore did the back up signal and the left rear brake light, so i bought a resistor set for the leds installed one on each side, still no help, next i bought a flasher module still no help, soi decided to install candasent and still no help, next thing i did was cut the installed harness that had the led resistors. i wired directly over to the lights through the factory connectors , now i have running lights with lights on , no brake lights not even the 3rd brake light, turn signals work, i've checked and replaced all blown fuses . so just to have brake lights during the day i wired the red wire to the brown wire using the running lights as brake lights. i have searched every where on the frame for the connector block, apparently mine does not have one. the harness runs in one big loom from cab to rear of chasis, then splits off to the blue and grey connectors. i have a tool box bed on it, i can see clearly from one side to the other, even pulled the spare . any ideas how i can get brake lights ? if i connect the red to green and yellow i have brake lights, but problem is my blinkers act like hazards when in left or right position. what could be the problem? I do know the LEDs shorted out and blew fuses, the left side had burned out and the right side was hot , not warm. why in the world would any one want to ground out their power ? Led's are Crap and a hazard in my book, your literally ground- shorting your power out on the system just to run low powered bright lights. could I have a bad flasher again? when this is fixed i'll talk about the wihining i'm hearing
  20. Hello everyone. My 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 HD is in need of a new trailer towing harness. The previous owner hacked into it and my new puppy destroyed it at the connector (puppies love to chew!). I ordered the AC Delco harness that EVERY website listed #15072794, but it is not right. The one I got has the round connector to connect to to the trailer plug on the bumper, but the next plug is a round 7 blade as well and the one that plugs into my distribution block just in front of the bumper is rectangular. Also, mine has a ground eyelet that bolts above the spare tire and then runs along the gas tank. I have attached some pics of my harness. I know the 2006 model year saw many changes mid year, but I cannot find the correct harness. HELP PLEASE! Scott
  21. Greetings, I have a late model Silverado Crew LT. I have a free high definition camera that I'd like to install as a back-up camera. I have a replacement bezel with a spot for the camera; and I'm using an aftermarket navigation/radio package (Advent OGM1) ready to accept camera inputs. Question: does the factory wiring harness in this truck contain a camera + and - running from the rear of the truck into the cab? I have a couple of wiring harness diagrams, but I'm struggling because the wire colors don't match what I'm seeing at the bundle of connectors at the rear of the truck (tucked up beside the spare). I'd certainly prefer to avoid having to run wiring if it's already there. Despite numerous inquiries I've never gotten a definitive answer. Some folks say "yes", but can't identify to wiring correctly. Others say I have to pull my own. In between is the right answer. It's hard to believe GM would have different harnesses and not include the wiring; but I've seen stranger things. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! Cheers TY
