  1. It has been my experience that you get what you pay for. If you buy cheap you get something cheap. Ford are #1 selling vehicle because they don't last as long, comparatively. Take out their business/fleet sales and they get blown out of the water. That's why Ford stopped breaking down their sales numbers, however rebranding car fleets tell all. So, the first question comes to mind: Why aren't you establishing your ranch as a business? Is just a tax designation, and you could open yourself up to fleet pricing. Furthermore, Blue Cruise and Super Cruise are in their first year, respectively. It has always been standard operating procedure for both Ford and GM to offer the newest tech in their most expensive vehicles the first year. Just look at the T1 trucks. Trail Boss LT only got the 5.3 at first. In 2020 the 6.2 was added. Following that the 6.2 was added to the Custom Trail Boss, and the 3.0 Duramax decreased in price by $1,500. Then the Duramax was added to the Trail Boss LT. So, question #2: Why not wait a year or 2 for for the newer tech to trickle down? Finally, I've said it before, but apparently it needs repeating: Ford owners are comparing about the 10-speed. It shifts hard into 4th and 7th gears. Now, the 10-speed trans in both the GMs and Ford were codeveloped by the 2 companies, however each uses their own valving. This may be why the GM shifts so much more smoothly. At the end of the day, it's your money and your decision to make. I made mine, and what anybody says is irrelevant to how you spend your money. Whether you drive a Ford or Chevy, you commentary is always welcome. You're a good person to hear from.
  2. Have you tried using the radio touchscreen to operate your climate control?
  3. Just a quick little update. I spoke to the dealership about the progress on my truck. Regarding the reverse lines, GM Tech2 (iirc what the dealer told me) has not responded to the dealer. It's been 2 days since GM was contacted.
  4. I have similar issues with this site on my phone. If I'm on wifi I'll turn it off and use 5G. If I'm on 5G I turn on wifi.
  5. I'm not in the habit of losing money, so I don't take that bet
  6. Yep. It's your piss minus the sugars in it, plus distilled water.
  7. At least you got a loaner. Fortunately, I'm driving my wife's car because she's out of the country. A loaner/rental wasn't even offered even though it's a warranty repair.
  8. If this happened everybody would stop wishing for a giant earthquake to happen and sink California into the ocean. Property values would plummet in that state, too. I say this while in my home in California, too.
  9. GM owned Lotus back then. So, it was all GM, lol. Another GM and Lotus joint venture was the Fiero. And, GM and Toyota have been so tight since the end of WW2 that GM allowed Toyota to work with Lotus to make the MR2.
  10. "In a recent announcement, Consumer Reports stated that it has decided to reward carmakers whose driver-assist systems encourage safe driving behaviors. With this in mind, the CR 2022 autos Top Picks, which would be announced on February 17, would reflect scoring changes based on how vehicles’ driver monitoring systems perform in real-world scenarios. Under the updated scoring system, vehicles with systems that encourage safe driving are given two additional points. So far, Consumer Reports noted that only Ford’s Blue Cruise and GM’s Super Cruise would be earning these extra points. Jake Fisher, senior director of Consumer Reports’ Auto Test Center, explained these findings." https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-autopilot-vs-ford-blue-cruise-vs-gm-super-cruise-consumer-reports-rankings/
  11. Imo, the Rough Country lights are no better than the high beams. Those lights won't add any benefit. Just my opinion. Others may disagree.
  12. Beat me to it by a year and a half, lol. Found the air filter on RockAuto.com for under $50, plus shipping & tax. It's not listed under vehicle info. Did a part number search and it generated a result. Dealership wanted $123 before tax. Received the item from Rock Auto and it arrived in the same packaging it would've arrived in from the dealership.
  13. You might be okay with the Tahoe. GM was prioritizing their moneymaking vehicles.
  14. Do they come in 275/65/18? More info please. My Trail Boss tires aren't loud enough. I can still hear myself think.
  15. I have the Rough Country lights. Unless you plan on only using it for the brackets and upgrade the lights to a better brand, not worth it imo. Better replacement lights will cost more than the kit does. With that said, it'll still work with your grill.
  16. Alright, so my truck is in the dealership's hands for an oil change and 22,500 mile service. I asked them to look into the reverse camera issue. They called me today to give me an update. Routine service is done. Dash camera (GM Accessories Thinkware F800) system is being roads under warranty. Thank God I had the dealership install that one. As for the reverse camera, tech looked at the bezel and even played with it to see if he could align the camera. Unable to fix the problem. Tried doing 2 different system updates. That also didn't fix the problem. This matter has now been escalated to GM. I'm not expecting a miracle, however I figure the more of us that get this escalated to GM the more likely they are to offer a solution.
  17. I'd rather be Gen X than Gen Y or Millennial. The 80s and 90s were good. I'm glad I got to live through them.
  18. You'll never see a Cadillac comparison to a Raptor or TRX
  19. It's the sitting for awhile that's the issue. Sirius XM would have the logic behind it. Might want to call them. I wonder if it has anything to do with a radio ID being sent every time you change the channel to verify subscription.
  20. Same here. Wife and kids get next choice. I think wife is leaning towards Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 392 and kid #1 is leaning towards Toyota Tacoma or Chevy Colorado.
  21. You're crazy, lol! Now that's out of the way, forget the Impala. Give me the SS. RWD > FWD. The limited production garbage and no supercharged powertrain crap was ridiculous. If I were to buy a car today it would be a Charger. #2 would be a Taurus SHO. Nothing personal against imports. They just don't build drivetrains I like. Best imports, imo, is Lexus F-series and BMW M-series. But, Cadillac makes a good competitor, so if go that route, but I still need a truck and would like to have the performance of a sports car. That's why I want a s/c.
  22. Trail Boss and AT4 with 18" wheels come with 275/65 tires from the factory. You should have no trouble with 275/70.
  23. Based on society for over the last decade, I suspect it's the driver's
  24. I'll answer your question with a question. How is it the base C8 and the Z51 C8 have the same powertrain, but the Z51 makes more power?
  25. I have a 6.2 in my truck. Not much space to work with. And, from what I understand diesel engines are heavier. That might meaning beefing up the front suspension to handle to weight. What you add in weight you'll lose in payload and towing. Imo, if GM wanted to make a 1500 HD they'd do it. They've done it before. I did the trans fluid and filter on it. Getting to all the bolts was a PITA at one part of the pan.
