  1. Roger that. Thanks.
  2. They're is a cheaper fix. Go to Lowe's and head into the hardware department. There are a bunch of drawers filled with specialty hardware. A few drawers are labeled AUTOMOTIVE. In one of them is black plastic push pins that have a slight curve to the heads. You can always paint the heads to match since you mentioned chrome. Insert them into the holes and 9 out of 10 people wouldn't even notice.
  3. That engine selection is curious. I assumed you would've gone with the babymax. Don't get me wrong. I love the 6.2 in my truck, but I thought you were trying to lower your fuel bill, not raise it.
  4. Yep, that's what it looks like when your baby runs into the side of a steel wall on the driver's side of the truck
  5. They can't legally pull a credit report without you signing a document allowing them to do that
  6. It would be helpful to have the codes. It would tell us more. Based on my very limited experience, I don't think it's the CAI. Iirc, it would say something else other than running lean. The computer would compensate to ensure the AFR runs stoich. If the MAF was bad there'd be a code for that. If air was getting in through a tear or crack in the intake tube there'd be a code for unregistered air getting in because it wasn't measured at the MAF. I wonder if there's something wrong with the fuel delivery. Maybe an obstruction in the lines from dirty fuel??? I really don't know. I'm just guessing. It's really hard to diagnose a vehicle over a message forum and lack of info. As I said, it's all a guess.
  7. AC Delco batteries? I've had issues with them in the past. In fact, just helped a woman with a 17 Acadia last week by jump starting her car because the AC Delco battery went bad. Personally, there are times when my truck goes for days without being started. When I go out to start it and drive I don't have any issues, however knowing my history with AC Delco batteries is only a matter of time.
  8. Good call looking there. If there's water in the back rest storage, the water has likely been elsewhere and done its damage already. I'd NOPE right out of that immediately. I keep some valuable gear on those storage areas and would be pissed if a found water there. In one of them I have a handgun.
  9. You're right that the way I represented the numbers didn't make sense, but also correct in my intent. Although we see a bunch of EVs coming to market, one thing has never been said by all the car companies. They aren't ending production of the ICE vehicles. Just look at the Silverado an F150 as examples.
  10. CB finally arrived. Reading owners manual, it says to wire to something switched so it's off when the truck is off and on when the truck is on. Anybody who has done this, do you have a suggestion of where to connect into? I'm honestly being lazy in asking this question. Just thought I'd ask before I did something that screwed up my truck or the radio. The alternative is to connect directly to the battery.
  11. No pics. It doesn't snow in San Diego. If it did then "climate change" is at disastrous levels.
  12. You forget that the population is growing. Half of 200 is the same as 0 of 100.
  13. Quality Chevy? I've never had to do a credit report for a vehicle I've ordered. Every dealership I've dealt with throughout the country has only required a deposit, whether it's for a custom order or a dealer trade. One possibility is that the dealership is located between 2 large Marine Corps bases, and they've probably dealt with more than their fair share of stupid jarheads. I say that as a Marine Corps veteran, so I have some firsthand knowledge due to being one of those stupid jarheads myself many years ago -- young, dumb, and had eyes bigger than my wallet could afford. If you want, tell them to pound sand with the credit report, but you don't mind putting down a considerable, but refundable, deposit. Cash talks. Bullshit walks. A credit report doesn't change the fact that you could always change your mind later and not buy the truck. Edit: Another thought is they're trying to commit you to purchasing through their in house financing partners so they could also make some money on the back end of the deal. There is a financial incentive for them to do this. My last purchase was financed by my credit union. Dealership never got to run my credit. I took them a voucher they needed to send to my credit union in order to get paid. When I told the dealership the interest rate I got they said they couldn't even come close to it.
  14. I recommend listening to Newdude. Many here will vouch for his credibility. He's far more knowledgeable than I on these type of things.
  15. Have you checked the drawers in the hardware department at your local Lowe's Home Improvement?
  16. Same thing happens in Wyoming. Went to see the eclipse in 2017. Traffics was backed up 36 miles, which took over 3 hours to get through. Google tried having me turn off the paved road onto fenced dirt roads. I didn't want to risk my wife's Traverse, so I waited out the traffic. We had the fuel, and kids were distracted with their devices and toys.
  17. Been there, done that. The address for the house I owned in Virginia was wrong on Google Maps. Everybody was turning left when they should've been turning right. It didn't change much after telling Google because most everybody is using other GPS devices.
  18. #2 on my list of things that was in the garage a week before the truck arrived. Been very beneficial with kids and a short wife. Very detrimental for offroading.
  19. Thanks for the update. My truck will be going in for an oil change soon. I have a number of things that need to be addressed, this being one of them. Sounds like I'm going to be cursed with this problem for awhile.
  20. Again, my road has existed for over 50 years. Still not on GM factory navigation. It is in Maps+, though.
  21. Sounds like electrical got messed up with the canopy install. I'm assuming the canopy has a high mount brake light, and they may have spliced into the left brake wire harness and screwed something up. Just guessing, but that's where my mindset is currently at.
  22. Day 1? I had over $5k in stuff sitting in my garage a week before I got my truck. Only 1 item was installed in the truck by the dealer before I took possession -- Thinkware F800 front and rear cameras. The following were in my garage before the truck arrived: • GM Sportbar • GM offroad steps • GM Performance intake • GM Performance exhaust • GM rear wheel well liners • GM Accessories illuminated front bowtie • Black vinyl letters for tailgate • Black SILVERADO and LT badges for tailgate • WeatherTech window visors • WeatherTech license plate soft bumper frame (use it on front plate, adds to rugged appearance of Trail Boss while also providing a little bit of protection) • WeatherTech clear license plate cover (helps prevent rear plate from being stolen. I might swap this to the tinted version now that I'm thinking about it) • Tablet/Cell phone holders from Amazon that tension mount to front seat headrest posts so rear seat occupants (aka, kids) can use their devices on long trips • Rough Country hard trifold tonneau • Chrome locking hitch pin • University of Utah trailer hitch cover All of this stuff was installed within a week.
  23. Remember, it's a thermistor, not a thermometer. Car companies use them because they are cheaper. The downside is they aren't as accurate. I've been buying new GM vehicles for 16 years now. All have/had the ambient temp readouts. All are grossly wrong when I first driving the vehicle. All get/got within +/-3°F after driving for about 2 minutes. It's accurate enough. That's what matters.
  24. And here I thought I was on his ignore list. Lots I could say here, but I'll save the roasting for another place. So I'll leave it with this: it's spelled B-U-Y.
