  1. I've had fuel that I swear wasn't actually 92/93 before. Stopped going to the station and problem never reared its ugly head again
  2. She needs a bath but useless until the snow and salt are gone
  3. Never did the shield but I live in the midwest. We don't get quite as toasty as you folks. Otherwise, I'm pretty similar
  4. Look at all of his posts; he loves to argue. The "solar" glass in cars does offer UV protection but not IR (heat). Same goes for sunglasses which are molded and offer UV protection without a film. If you scroll up, you can see the definition of solar glass. His only replies are from tinting companies but I digress. I tinted my windows because I like to filter out more IR and love the look. That's all
  5. Nearly all tint shops offer a lifetime warranty and 30 years of installing tint doesn't make you a scientist. I've provided evidence that the dyed glass blocks UV in much the same way a pair of sunglasses can without a plastic film, and you have provided second-hand rhetoric. He might be an honest man but he doesn't understand how light works. Otherwise, he would understand that a film isn't the only way to filter light
  6. Sorry, but you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about regarding the basic principles of thermodynamics and optics in which you're trying to explain in your longwinded rebuttals. Keep on trucking though <facepalm>
  7. That's what she said? Dammit.. missed the fact I was beat by 4 hours. No option to delete
  8. And for what it's worth, if you search "does factory tint......." every single site I see is from another tinter or tint film mfg. Here is one from the NHTSA. This is nothing new https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2012/MC-10112468-9999.pdf
  9. You cited a page from a film manufacture but I digress. I never once said that the glass wasn't "dyed". I said that it does, in fact, block out UV. Now, moving into the IR spectrum (aka heat) it does not mention that, so not sure what % it does, if any. I imagine when they say "light transmission" they are only referring to light in the visible spectrum but they are very specific on UV. #21-NA-152: Information on Glass Ultraviolet (UV) Ray Protection and Tint Percentage - (Jun 28, 2021) Ultraviolet Ray Protection: Windshield reduces UV rays down to 4% or less. Front side door glass reduces UV rays down to 35% or less. Rear window, doors, or 1/4 glass reduces UV rays down to 35% or less (Without RPO AJ1 or AKO). Rear window, doors, or 1/4 glass reduces UV rays down to 10% or less if equipped with Privacy Glass (With RPO AJ1 or AKO). Sunroof reduce to 10% or less.   Tint Percentage: Windshields are SOLAR glass with a light transmittance of >/=70%. Front door glass are Solar glass with a light transmission of >/=70%. Rear door glass, quarter windows and back windows can use either Solar glass (>/=70%) or Privacy glass, which has a light transmittance of (nominally) 20%.
  10. This is .... fake news. It clearly states that it rejects both UV and visible light Your buddy probably has one of those demos with a standard, non-treated piece of glass with a light bulb to show how it's worth buying "ceramic" tint. This glass is tinted, just not with film. If you couldn't prevent transmission of UV light without film, how would sunglasses work?
  11. Is it a diesel? I haven't had this pop up on my 6.2 but I 'think' I have heard something like this for the dizzel motors
  12. Thought the same thing myself. I thought it was the dash speaker but went away on less windy days
  13. Sounds like wind noise to me. I have experienced this in the past with crosswinds
  14. I know this isn't what you asked but for me, I went soft tri-fold. Reason being is, I need to take it off fairly regularly. The hard ones, from my experience, at a PITA to remove/install. I can do my soft fold in about 5 minutes
  15. I personally wouldn't buy another 5.3. I love my 6.2 I do quite a bit of highway driving and honestly? I'll probably hop into a 2023 for the super cruise
  16. Never had this happen. Are you a 2 foot driver?
  17. I know when programming the BCM, it is all in metric units. For example, changing the speed limiter to 125 MPH, means I need to set it to 201
  18. Working on something for WAMs/AutoSync... more interested in if the wiring is different. eg, in the Midnight Edition, the headlight assembly controls the DRLs so you can't do things like, leave them on "full bright" when the headlights are engaged. I 'think' this might be different on the standard LED package
  19. Hi guys, I know there is a Halogen LED and this "HID LED" which is only available on the "Midnight Edition" Anyone know what the difference is between standard LED and the HID LED? Besides the cooling block located behind the headlight assembly?
  20. Has anyone actually "blown up" their driveshaft with proof, like many claim? I have removed my speed limiter and gone well above what some said will do just that with no issues. On a closed course... in Mexico
  21. So much misinformation here. 585Trailboss is correct. Just need to go in and reset or disable the air filter alert.
  22. How about a vijayo of it inside.. on the highway?
  23. I agree with this. For me, I'd start fresh. ie, remove as much wax/PB as possible and put on a new coating of wax or fluid film
  24. To each their own Back before GM locked the ****** out of them, it was pretty cheap to go grab a secondhand ECM and have it tuned. That 700 bucks really hurts, just to get things started.
  25. Nice.. it appears the prices have been on a decline. So, I guess you could really do it for ~a grand.
