  1. Are these seats leather? I have a Denali and my seats feel like they are some type of vinyl. If so, is a leather conditioner needed?
  2. Just took mine in for an oil change, and had an issue with the radio where the screen would lock up for a minute or two. It only happened a few times; however, the tech said they had a software update that should fix this. Two days later my screen is now going blank but the music from the radio still plays. It only last a minute or two, but now the radio problem is worse. I have a 2021 GMC Denali. Oh well, I guess I will be taking it back.
  3. I have the Denali and have never had this issue. The shocks on the Denali include a system known as adaptive ride control and I guess they keep this problem from happening. It’s a great truck that keeps on going.
  4. Every time I wash my truck, I will use the towel that I dry the truck with to wipe down the engine bay. That seems to do the trick. I don’t feel comfortable spraying water into the engine compartment. Too many electrical components that could be compromised.
  5. Looks good. What type of wax did you use. The shine and reflection is top notch.
  6. I traded in my 2019 Ram Bighorn ( new body style) for a 2021 Denali. The Denali has a slightly better ride then the Ram. I don’t know how much of a difference the ride in the SLT would be.
  7. Talked to the dealer on Friday , they told me that they have no idea when the latch will be shipped. I was told that there is no inventory for this part anywhere in the country. So right now I have a pick up truck that I am limited in using the bed. I have a farm and am always hauling something, wood, hey, fuel, horse feed, etc. Not really happy right now. It’s probably a $30 part that GM does not have in its parts bin to ship out. I asked the dealer if it would be better and quicker to get a whole new tailgate. I’m taking it in on Monday and they are going to see what they can do. What a joke!
  8. Well it wasn’t the switch, it was the latch on the small door portion of the dual lift gate . The service manager said this was this first time he saw this. The part is on back order, they thought it would be here in a couple days , now they have no idea when it will arrive. Which means I have a pick up truck in which I can’t open my tailgate , which limits the use of the truck.
  9. Just called the dealer and that’s what they think it is. They are checking to see if they have the parts in house before they want me to bring it in. I guess this is a somewhat common issue with these multi function tailgates.
  10. My tailgate won’t open on my GMC . When I go to crank it up , I get the message that the inner tailgate is open, it is not. I tried opening and closing the inner tailgate, but no luck. Any suggestions , or has anyone else experienced this issue and if so what was the fix.
  11. I don’t know, I did it about a month ago and haven’t seen the spots come back yet. It may be something you have to do every so often. I guess it will give me something to do on the weekends.
  12. Same thing on my trim. Used turtle wax hybrid ceramic and Maguire’s back to black . Seemed to do the trick.
  13. Where I live in Florida, none of the GMC dealers I talked to had a factory extended warranty that they were selling. I did buy one from a GMC dealer that was underwritten by CNA. It was a 10 year 150,000 mile warranty that covers just about everything except brakes, tires, and the usual exclusions with respect to a premium warranty . It has a $100 deductible and cost about $3,100. I guess the Florida Department of Insurance has rules that GM or their dealers have issues with when it comes to the selling or pricing of their factory extended warranty .
  14. Just curious if anyone has had any lifter failures on either the 5.3 or 6.2 with build dates AFTER March 2021.
  15. I would hope that they would get rid of the oil pump belt that has to be replaced at 150,000 miles by dropping the transmission . That is why I stayed away from this diesel and went with the 6.2.
  16. Obama proposed a ban on oil manipulation in the spring of 2012 in order to present an election deflection issue since gas prices were rising. This was done so as to provide his party with an argument to help the Dems in the midterms. It wasn’t any different when the GOP was saying they would repeal Obamacare. In fact between 2012 to 2016 they voted to repeal it on numerous occasions , but when they actually had a vote that counted , John McCain ( a Republican who had voted every time to repeal it) cast the deciding vote against it’s repeal. All this political theater is designed for the MIMS, which means the manipulation of the ignorant masses. One side blames the other side for being against there great legislative goals, and guess what, people actually buy into this nonsense and hence here we are. This is what we do know, gas prior to Biden taking office was under $2.00 a gallon, before the Ukrainian war it was up over $3.50 a gallon, and today in my state it is now over $4.00. Parties in power only want to take credit for good things and run away from the bad issues by blaming other people. So, whose to blame? I tend to look at whoever is the captain of the ship first, since they are the ones who are implementing there policy that they want to push forward. Sorry Joe, and by the way today is Monday, just in case you forgot what day of the week it was.
  17. There have been a number of posts regarding the lifter issue, what I would like to know is how many miles you have on your truck with these engines. Right now I’m at 8,500 , but I’ve only had my truck for 7 months.
  18. Be careful not to install something that would void your warranty. If you plan on keeping the truck, you may want to consider buying an extended warranty.
  19. Mine does the same thing. I was wondering about why this was happening. It’s a bit of a pain.
  20. All I do is city and highway driving. No towing or heavy duty work. It’s just my daily driver and I baby the truck.
  21. When I check my oil, it’s always in the morning after the vehicle sits overnight. I check my oil fairly regularly. There was not any oil consumption for the first 5,200 miles, which is when I did the first oil change. I then checked it in the morning the day after the oil change and it was at the full level on the dip stick. It’s about 2,000 miles later and I checked my oil , again in the morning , and it’s now a 1/2 quart low.
  22. After the oil change I checked it the next day , and it was at the top of the dipstick. Checked it today, about 60 days and 2000 miles later, and had to add 1/2 a quart .
  23. Just had to add a 1/2 Quart of oil after just 2,000 miles from my last oil change. The truck has 7200 miles on it. I didn’t notice any oil usage during the first 5000 miles. I did add BG MOA with the last oil change as per the recommendation of the dealer. Is this oil usage normal for the 6.2? Any suggestions or comments would be helpful.
  24. GMC rubber floor liners, tonneau cover, center counsel organizer, bed rug. It’s all good.
  25. If it’s not broke don’t fix it. There were all sorts of issues with this transmission until GM figured out which fluid to use. I’d stick with what GM recommends.
