  1. I use them. Very tight squeeze when parking in my garage with wife's car. I installed the Boost Auto TASK LIGHTS ON IN DRIVE MODE. I can see the wall studs better in the dark while parking in my garage.
  2. Don't worry about it all. I used a Range disabler on a 2021 Trail Boss w/5.3 and regularly left it parked for 5 or even 7 days because I ride my Harley every day. Put it in and don't be concerned about it.
  3. I have used a Range Technologies DFM disabler on my 2021 and 2023 Trail Bosses. Now I am running a new style Range device on my 2025 Trail Boss w/6.2. I've never had surging or any other performance issues with my Range devices, are you sure the Range device is causing your surging at cruise speeds? Maybe unplug it and road test to verify?
  4. Here is something i just discovered about my wireless charging pad built into my console. I have always had a lot of trouble charging my phone on the charging pad. Put the phone on the pad and it would charge for two or three seconds then the green symbol turns to yellow and phone stops charging. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. I figured out if i put my phone into the charger upside down (if your looking at the icons rotate the phone 180 degrees so its upside down) the charger works perfectly and consistently. All of a sudden i have a phone that is 100% charged every time i take it out of the charger. I believe it has to do with the position of the charging coil in the charger and the position of the battery in my S25 Ultra. Anyway I wanted to leave this tip for anyone having problems charging their Samsung phone.

  5. Just an update on Range Technologies DFM disabler. I took mine off a 2023 Silverado w/5.3 and installed it in my 2025 w/6.2. Its working perfectly, no DFM, no auto start. I do remove it before oil changes at the dealer (I'm not going to do oil changes anymore). I did my first over the air update (OTA) with it installed at my gun club yesterday and everything went smoothly, no problems. So from here on out I think everything is OK and I'm going to leave it installed. I would recommend you install it, enjoy your truck, and just drive it. No DFM, no auto start and no need to cycle through to L9 anymore.
  6. There you go. Give the General a chance to help you. Let us know how this works out.
  7. Bad deal. OK here is my opinion. You can kiss your wheels, tires and whatever else goodbye. They have no trade value (or may hurt the trade a little). I would start looking around for new. Now i am in the U.S. so i will only speak to US dollars but trying to realistic, $10,000 to repair, $10,000 to $14,000 for trade (maybe more). that's $20,000 to $24,000 down. (I don't know if you still owe on the 2020). Chevrolet trucks are being offered for about $10,000 under MSRP depending on stock and engine size. I got my Trail Boss 6.2 loaded Midnight package for $10,000 off MSRP in November last year. New paint, new smell, new warranty. You know what i mean. That is in the US. I would not fix your truck, I would stick an engine in it if you decide to keep it. That's my 2 cents.
  8. Anything over 100,000 miles is great. You definitely got a lot of use from the original ball joints.
  9. They should add cam and lifter failures to this investigation.
  10. Not sure if 26 3500 is the same wiring as a 25 1500 (Global B). But if it is. That subject has been covered in Modifications. Search Interior Light Modification.
  11. I think you are behind the times. That's a lot of advice and lack of knowledge from a guy who drives a 2002 Avalanche.
  12. I believe Range Technologies states that it does not affect your warranty, but to be honest I got a Lifetime Powertrain Warranty when I purchased my truck from my dealer. I recently went in to have my active exhaust recalibrated to ZR2 spec. (this makes the exhaust 20% louder on startup and 10 or 15% louder overall in Sport Mode). I did disconnect the disabler to ensure it did not interfere with that download/recalibration. Now I was a Master Technician and spend way too much time on this forum and other related reading so I am probably being overly cautious. I would not worry about voiding your warranty. I usually introduce myself to the Service Manager and ask those questions whenever i purchase a new vehicle. They normally are very agreeable and courteous to me when buying a new truck.
  13. Compression test, Cylinder leak down test, then Power balance test to determine next steps. The smoke is worry some.
  14. 6.2 no doubt. Tons of power. The 2025-26 models got good crankshafts. I have used a Range Technologies DFM disabler since new. I have had a 2021 5.3 without DFM, a 2023 5.3 with DFM disabled and now the 25 6.2 with DFM disabled. Holy ****** this thing is fast! I would follow your heart. Let us know when you decide.
  15. 4000 miles. 6.2. No problems. (Using Range Technologies DFM Disabler since new).
  16. Is there a drain plug on the torque converter? The cooler must retain some fluid.
  17. Probably. I doubt like hell any dealership is going to be doing oil analysis. You know they're losing money on most any warranty repair.
  18. Hey MrLeadFoot great information in your post! I was getting the exclamation error from the phone charger. My phone is rarely under 80% charge so it may be a "battery condition saver". I almost always get the yellow exclamation symbol when i plop my phone into the charger. The only way i have found to get it to work is to "cycle" the phone into the charger. Drop the phone into the charger, symbol changes from green charging to yellow not charging after 3 seconds. I have to drop the phone in and wait to see if it charges, If it goes yellow i take the phone out and wait for the symbol to go away and then cycle the phone back into the charger until the green charge light comes on and stays on. I have a brand new Samsung Galaxy Ultra so i know there is nothing wrong with the phone. Your info about the charging coil was very helpful, I think somehow my battery is not aligning correctly with this charging coil. I may have to experiment with some sort of shim. Thanks for your info!
  19. Keep us up to date on your choice of oil. Is it Mobile 1 Dexos? I would run 5w30 in a heartbeat if it didn't void my warranty. (I got a Lifetime Powertrain Warranty from my Dealer). I have to do my servicing-oil changes with them unless I'm traveling. I don't rack up many miles because i ride my Harley every day when its not snowing. The Warranty was free with the purchase of the truck (believe it or not) Being a Mechanic (retired after 40 years) I think you are absolutely right running the thicker oil. Best of luck man.
  20. Dude you got an EV! You must have gotten the $7500.00 before it went away.
  21. I tried to purchase the calibration online from GM parts but it kept coming up "back ordered". I don't know how a download can be "back ordered". Any way I went to my dealer and they didn't know anything about this calibration so I gave them the part# and they had to order it. The package came in after a long wait. The download includes a labor code for the dealer to get paid for the download so labor is included.
  22. I did the Active Exhaust Calibration and I really like it. Like newdude stated 35% louder on startup in sport mode and 10% louder while cruising. I still have control over the active exhaust valve to quiet the system down but I don't use it.
  23. I agree. I would replace all 4 at 60,000 if you can afford it.
  24. I have the same one. Have seen these for sale at various GM dealerships.
  25. I am a black guy. Midnight package. My Harley is murdered out black also. Just my opinion.
