  1. My January OnStar email shows that my tires went down from 60 psi in September when I bought the truck, down to 48 psi in both front tires. And the rears went down from 70 to 58 left and 60 right. Sounds like it is just temperature related in the loss of psi.
  2. Man, that sucks! Glad it happened under warranty. Hopefully they can get you back up and running with a new engine soon. And give you a loaner in the meantime. Keep us posted on the failure results.
  3. WOW!!! How old is the truck and how many miles on the engine?? I have over 7,500 miles on my truck.
  4. This is the one I have. https://smile.amazon.com/Magnetic-Charger-MAGNITTO-Pack,3-3-Straight/dp/B07W4XRYKY/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=MAGNITTO&qid=1584619076&sr=8-1
  5. My monthly OnStar email said that my tire pressures were too low and needed action when they were more than 10 psi below the 60 psi for the front tires and 70 psi for the rear tires. But the TPMS alert never came on in the truck. They were down to 48 psi front and 58 psi rear from 60/70 that the dealer set them to because of the drop in temperature during the winter. Honestly I didn't notice any difference in the ride quality.....
  6. I was told that I could add the GM Navigation SD card to my 2020 2500HD LT trim truck, but my dealer suggested to use Android Auto from my phone with Google maps instead and that has worked out for me. I just bought one of those charging and data transfer cords with a magnetic end and it is easy to connect that way and works just fine.
  7. Pics from last weekend meeting up with my buddies and taking their trailer.
  8. The owner's manual says to lubricate the 2500/3500 steering components at least every oil change. This is the multi-point inspection check list from the dealer's website that did my 1st service maintenance visit. I didn't get a copy of this form so I just called and asked if they greased the steering components. The service rep said they don't print out those forms anymore, and haven't for several years now. And they don't usually write down if they greased the steering components, but they usually do grease them and I should be fine. Well I guess I will double check.
  9. LOL! I was just thinking to myself if the dealer greased all of those at my first and only free oil change / maintenance visit...? But seeing as they couldn't even do a proper tire rotation, I'm doubting they touched the grease zerks. I will grease them when I do the next oil change myself.
  10. Do you buy gas from the same gas station or different ones?
  11. I haven't felt anything like that during normal driving. The only weird transmission shift that I've felt about 4-5 times is when I'm coasting and slowing down around 45 mph and then touch the gas pedal and it clunks when finding the right gear.
  12. In Tow/Haul mode or not? I get that when in Tow/Haul mode coming to a stop the engine breaking/transmission downshifting helps and it definitely downshifts and the RPM's jump up to 3000-4000 RPM's. But just normal driving I do not get that effect. Double check that your Tow/Haul mode isn't turned on.
  13. Interesting way to get the infotainment system fixed haha. But weird that your truck wouldn't start with 1 good battery. I assume everything was covered under warranty. I remember reading in one of the threads that a dealer would not replace a bad battery in a new 2020 HD diesel with dual battery system... I think it was in one of the trailer light threads. Good that they could fix everything in one day on a Saturday.
  14. I would at least call your dealer and tell them what you are experiencing so they can start researching a fix for you. Better than going to the dealer and they tell you to come back later after they learn how to fix it.
  15. Definitely something wrong. Check and see if you have the newest system update v148.
  16. I think he's asking how the gas tanks are designed to fit the different cab/box configurations? I'm assuming the gas tanks are just molded to fit in the most available spaces on those trucks, and still be able to be removable for service.
  17. I've put 32.93 gallons of gas in my 2020 and low fuel light on and I think it said Range Low. Pretty nice to be able to run that long on a tank compared to my old 1500.
  18. My 4 way plug is right above the 7 way plug, but I don't have the upgraded trailer camera package.
  19. If you need that adapter, that would be sad that the provided built in 4 way plug can't be used. I already had to buy a 4 way plug wire extension because the built in plug is so high above the hitch now compared to my last Silverado.
  20. Already got a call back that the truck is fixed and done. They admitted the tech swapped the tires left to right. So they checked alignment and swapped them in an X pattern and did a test drive and didn't feel any pull or vibrations. So they are done with it. Ultimately the tires ended up where they should have if a front-to-back rotation had been done in the first place. They want my feedback after I drive it too.
  21. The truck is at the dealer now and waiting to see if they are going to cover a Road Force Balance under warranty because when I dropped it off the Service Consultant said it was $129.99 to do that balance, which was not mentioned at all during my phone call scheduling the appointment! She said since there were only 5000 miles on the truck that they might be able to cover it under warranty and would call me back to verify before they did anything. Grrrr. I made sure to take pictures of each of the tires on the truck currently. More to come.
  22. As stated, use Dexos-rated motor oil. Prices are fairly close from what I see, varying from Valvoline 5 qts for $17.01 and Mobil 1 5 qts for $25.47. 8 quarts would be $27.22 for Valvoline and $40.75 for Mobil 1 Advanced Full Synthetic. I would trust either of those brands, but personally use Mobil 1 Advanced Full Synthetic with an AC Delco oil filter.
  23. The dealer I bought the truck from did check alignment at 130 miles and said it was correct. That's when they swapped the front tires left to right and it had a slight drift to the left, which was acceptable to me, even though it should drift to the right like Grumpy Bear and my original dealer said. The truck definitely pulls to the right and would go off the road rather quickly without a constant hand on the wheel and correction. I called the local dealer that did the service and tire rotation and he agreed that it doesn't make sense that they would have rotated the tires left to right and it should have been done front to back leaving left and right tires on the same sides. I explained the swap done when I bought the truck and said that I was going to call them to request a warranty claim. He offered to do a road force test on the tires for me tomorrow, so I scheduled that appointment to see what they find. I just know something is wrong and needs to be corrected on this new truck.
  24. Nice! I had calculated that I could wait and it would be well within my OLM percentage after this trip, but this is going to be the first trip pulling a trailer and figured 5K was enough miles for using the "engine break in" oil. Amazing how many people change their oil multiple times before their vehicle gets to 5,000-6,000 miles. This dealer has online coupon specials and it is $88.50 for their AC Delco full synthetic oil, filter, and tire rotation. $125.50 for Mobil 1 full sythetic oil, filter, and tire rotation! Both for their 8 quart oil change. I can do it for $45ish and have all of the tools already. Side note: I just posted in the thread about 2020 2500HD trucks pulling to the left in the Trouble shooting section. When new the truck pulled to the right bad during test drive, so the dealer swapped the tires left to right when I bought it and it then would pull to the left slightly, even though the dealer said it was fixed. At this different dealer that did the oil change and tire rotation, they swapped the tires left to right, not front to back, and now my truck pulls to the right bad again. I need to make some phone calls today as this tire pulling issue was supposed to go away after the tires "wore in" but obviously didn't in my case.
  25. So I took my truck in for my first, and only, free maintenance service visit at 4988 miles. They rotated the tires left to right and didn't swap front to back. So now my pulling issue is back and just as bad as before. I should have went back to the dealer right after I left, but that isn't the dealer I bought the truck from, just the closest to wear I live and work. I'm surprised they rotate tires left to right instead of front to back or even X pattern front to back.... I was going to call the dealer that did the service and ask how they "normally" rotate tires on a 4X4 truck. Then call the dealer I bought the truck from and ask about new tires under warranty. There is obviously something wrong with some of these tires right from the factory.
