  1. G218 ground issues. It's been discussed here too or just Google it. Another thought is the knock sensors, they set the timing. They caused stalling on my 2001, and of course it was the one under the intake manifold.
  2. What year is your truck? My 2016 Sierra had issues that I was able to clear up by replacing the negative battery cable, cleaning the connections of course. You need an oem replacement for this. But first, if I had work done and then had problems I'd be all over that shop blaming them.
  3. So I have had the tuner for a while now, after I got it to work my truck is running a lot better. The shifts are tighter, no more banging and slipping as it downshifts at low speeds. I tuned it to the 87 and turned off the AFM. As far as getting it to work is a whole other story. I sat for an hour and a half as it kept spinning and was stuck at level 7 out of 10. Frustrated I called the service number through the app and the guy tells me that the battery needs to be on a charger through the process. That the connection keeps dropping because of low power. No where is this posted or discussed and is a negative feature of the device. But I'm tuned now and my gas mileage has actually increased 2 mpg. One other negative was ordering through American Trucks. They say 2 day shipping and the day it was supposed to arrive the package wasn't even shipped yet, so I called and canceled it and against my wishes they sent it out 2 days later. I will never deal with them again.

  5. How do you like the Torque Management tune? Pretty sure I can turn it on or off, thinking about turning it off, I read it gives more response to the gas pedal.
  6. I'm not really worried about the mileage, but I am a little psyched about a more responsive truck. Mine doesn't have modes, and I enjoy Sport Mode in our Acura, and would like my truck respond to the pedal, instead of the mushy stock feeling.
  7. Just ordered this new tuner from Diablosport for my 2016 GMC Sierra. Anyone try this yet? Looking to turn off the AFM and tighten my transmission. Also says that I will get better gas mileage and more HP using the octane presets. Will update after I get it and set things up. https://www.holley.com/products/tuners_and_programmers/diablosport_predator_x/parts/DS-MFD
  8. Actually I paid 422 plus tax for the entire kit.
  9. Yup, hasn't been any issues at, truck is running strong.
  10. I'll think the main issue was the ground cable, I bought a new one and installed it. I read somewhere it could be an issue.
  11. At this point my truck is still running great, no more issues. I've driven it to Maine and South Carolina, I live in NJ.
  12. There's a TSB on this also, but my dealership was too lazy. My truck is still running great since I did the repairs. Basically the ground cable was the culprit.
  13. Yes the post directly above yours.
  14. I have the same cover, love it. They also offer a military discount directly from Extang.
  15. I replaced mine with the Bilstein 5100 HDs. Rides so much better.
  16. I had this problem on my 2016 Sierra, someone said to Google G218. I did. I cleaned the dash grounds and replaced the negative cable off the battery. I also took a grinder and totally cleaned where the cable connects in the passenger wheel well and then sprayed it with undercoating. My truck hasn't shut off since.
  17. Great, if you have any problems here is the email I received from Dorman for a warranty replacement: Yes there should be a warranty. Since its been passed the 30 day return, you would have to contact RPS Marketing for the warranty. Their number is 1-425-806-5139.
  18. I had it installed about 7 months and I blasted it with my power washer and water got in it. I contacted Dorman, they said that it was under warranty and gave me the Amazon liason phone number. It's been replaced for 4 months now, that picture above was 2 weeks ago. As with any Chinese crap your mileage will vary, but they will replace it. I have the number should you need it.
  19. I replaced the one on my 2016 with a Dorman. The picture is a little better but the haze is gone. It wasn't too bad to replace, I had to drop the spare tire. The attached picture is at 545 AM, so it was between night and daylight, as you can see above my dash. 20. I replaced my originals with 5100s 2 years ago, the truck rides so much better. I did it myself, bought a spring compression tool when we had an Acadia and I replaced it's shocks.
  21. I bought the Extang Xceed, it looks great and I really like it.
  22. On my 2016 I replaced the pads and rotors with Powerstop Z36 and they seem to be very smooth and brake well when towing a trailer. I did them at 60,000, passenger front was shot and the rears were squealing. Sad that I paid 400 at the time and now they're 518.
  23. Finally an answer that states info. So neither will tune the truck?
  24. I have a 2016 GMC Sierra SLT Crew Cab 4WD with a 5.3 8 speed and I really want to tune it so it responds to my foot, shifts tighter and turn off the AFM. I was reading a lot of opinions and figured I'd just as fellow owners. Typical article: https://gmundcars.com/best-tuners-for-53-silverado/
  25. Funny how I searched Google for g218 and there's a TSB on it, the exact same symptoms my truck is having. I can't believe a good tech would miss it. I'm dealing with the managers of 2 departments at the same time. Funny how I'm getting better responses from the body shop guy, he's pissed they gave me the truck back without his department detailing it.
